The Magnificent Son-in-law

Chapter 61: Paying for Inexperience

Xiao Feng quickly concluded that it's not just a lack of manpower, it's severely lacking.

Looking at the scale of this club, even if five people are doubled, it probably wouldn't be enough; there are simply too many rooms to thoroughly investigate.

If we check room by room, it would be a wasted night because once alerted, people in other rooms will surely hurry to get dressed, and if caught, they might use learning English as an excuse with no fault to be found.

Xiao Feng had a bit of a headache; this time he suffered from his lack of experience, having never done such a thing, resulting in many overlooked details.

But it's too late for that now; since they're here, they can't just go back empty-handed, can they?

Otherwise, Song Keren would laugh to death!

Just then, a conspicuously dressed woman approached them with an enthusiastic smile, "What kind of service do you gentlemen need?"

Xiao Feng replied, "We want to play some billiards."

Behind him, Zhao Xingfeng and the others were shocked. Who the hell comes to these places to play billiards?

What they didn't expect was that the woman's smile deepened, "How big do you want to play? We have sizes to fit all preferences, anything you want, we can find for you."

At this moment, Zhao Xingfeng and the others started to realize, Xiao Feng's version of playing billiards is entirely different from theirs?

In some aspects, this is just like underworld lingo; those who understand, naturally understand, while those who don't are utterly clueless.

With this thought, three officers shared a glance, it seems Brother Feng is quite the expert!

"Why don't you call everyone out so we can take a look," Xiao Feng, thinking it would buy them some time, suggested.

"Sure." The woman agreed and led Xiao Feng and the others into a lavishly decorated suite before retreating with a charming smile.

"Old Zhao, you've been in this line for so many years, yet you didn't warn me about this earlier; we're obviously short-handed." Xiao Feng groused.

Stunned, Zhao Xingfeng replied, "Yes, I've been here for over ten years, but I've never participated in such an operation. Besides, you're the commander, you should consider these factors in advance."

Seeing Zhao Xingfeng unwilling to take the fall, Xiao Feng impatiently said, "Alright, call for backup, but don't drive the police cars when you come, and it's best not to enter the street. Await further action time from me."

Xiao Feng knew, that with the club of this level, unless every room is checked immediately, any gain would be minimal.

And Xiao Feng wanted a big impact, to deter those wealthy people from coming to Shen Tianze's clubs again.

From this point of view, Shen Tianze truly angered the wrong person.

Ordinary revenge is merely throwing some sand into his pot to disgust him.

But Xiao Feng intended to smash Shen Tianze's pot so he could no longer have a livelihood...

What Xiao Feng and the others didn't know was, the woman who had welcomed them, her smile vanished upon exiting the suite.

She called a waiter in the corridor over and whispered, "Stay focused on the people inside, something feels off."

"Off?" The waiter asked puzzledly, "Hong Jie, the young man leading them, the way he talks is definitely expert-level. What do you mean by off?"

The woman addressed as Hong Jie furrowed her brows, "I can't explain, maybe just instinct, but things might go wrong tonight."

"Hong Jie, you're overthinking, if there really was any operation, Director Miao would have given you a heads-up." The waiter laughed indifferently.

"Stop saying such things in the future; some things you should understand silently, or else you'll suffer from your own words!" Hong Jie said sternly, gaining a bit of relief inwardly.

Yet she hadn't considered that Miao Youmin was currently being held in the office having tea with Song Keren, unable to relay any warning.

Although drinking tea in the police station in the middle of the night instead of being home seemed strange, it was a necessary measure; this significant action required finessed effort to keep from a deputy director.

About ten minutes later, Hong Jie brought in a dozen or so simply dressed women, smiling, "Arrange yourselves by height."

The dozen or so women lined up as told.

Eventually, they understood the meaning behind Xiao Feng's "playing billiards."

"Old Zhao, you're the oldest, go ahead and choose first." Xiao Feng said indifferently.

Zhao Xingfeng was so startled he almost sprang up; seeing the situation, is this guy really planning on corrupting himself here?

Yet before he could ponder further, the ladies were already acting, sitting beside him from both sides, clinging to him.

The other three officers and Xiao Feng received the same treatment.

Xiao Feng was calm, maintaining the same smile, but Zhao Xingfeng and the others, having never faced such a scene, were nervous like teenagers, visibly uneasy, even with the urge to flee.

Hong Jie observed this scene, gaining obvious confidence that these five individuals were definitely problematic.

Xiao Feng sighed inwardly, never imagining Zhao Xingfeng and the others would be so disappointing; their uneasy demeanor exposed them.

Seeing Zhao Xingfeng and the others failing to hold out, Xiao Feng couldn't bear it any longer and said to Hong Jie, "Do you have others? Send a new batch."

Hong Jie chuckled softly, her gaze hinted at an understanding look, her tone a little mocking, "We have everything here, just wait a moment."

With that, she called the group of women to leave the suite.

"Brother Feng, we..." The three officers blushed, their expressions utterly embarrassed.

Usually, each boasting as playboys, yet haven't even done much before revealing themselves, leaving all three feeling shamefully remorseful.

Xiao Feng calmly said, "Stop talking nonsense, is the backup here? Or tonight will be for nothing."

From Hong Jie's eyes, it was clear she'd already noticed something amiss, Xiao Feng was certain Hong Jie began her preparation.

This reveals the terrifying nature of women in this industry; with a glance, a gesture, even a tone, they can keenly detect valuable information.

And now Xiao Feng had to race against time, acting before Hong Jie could prepare.

"The first batch of support has arrived, but it's not much, only over thirty people. Currently, more officers are being drawn from surrounding precincts, expected to arrive in twenty minutes." Zhao Xingfeng said as he looked at his phone.

"Then let's get moving, notify the first batch to reach us as quickly as possible." Xiao Feng decisively said before exiting the suite.

Zhao Xingfeng and the three officers exchanged looks, feeling deeply ashamed. If this operation failed, they'd carry undeniable blame.

But if successful, it wouldn't seem related to them, appearing solely as riding on the success.

Zhao Xingfeng sighed quietly, "Previously, Director Song said he sought only police with credentials to accompany, I felt discontent, but now it appears that feeling was quite laughable."

The three officers looked at each other but had nothing to say.
