"We're going to die horribly this time. This Mechanical Warrior is terrifying; it's not something a human can handle. Even a Nascent Soul Stage Cultivator might not be able to deal with it."
Despair washed over the faces of Ma Rufei and Chen Chaoyue. In their wildest dreams, they had never imagined this treasure-hunting adventure would cost them their very lives.
However, Zhang Bin wasn't the least bit despairing; he remained as calm as ever. He stared intently at the Mechanical Warrior and slowly said, "Tell me, do you really have to kill us? Are we truly of no use whatsoever?"
He was clearly grasping at straws, trying to buy time.
"HEH HEH HEH... You have disturbed the Master's slumber. A capital offense." The Mechanical Warrior sneered, ready to order an attack and annihilate Zhang Bin and his companions. But its body suddenly stiffened, its head flashing red as a shrill alarm blared from within its head.
The sound was strange. It was definitely an extraterrestrial language.
Clearly, the AI had finally detected Tutu's intrusion.
Zhang Bin's face turned deathly pale, and his body trembled. The situation was dire; Tutu's intrusion had been discovered.
Just as he feared, Tutu's anxious voice rang out in his mind, "Master, its AI is formidable. My infiltration failed, so I can only resort to a virus attack. Run now! I can only freeze it for a minute at most."
"We need to go..."
Zhang Bin grabbed Ma Rufei and Chen Chaoyue and soared into the sky, shooting straight upward. Xiao Jin, too, shot into the sky. In that moment, Zhang Bin and Xiao Jin unleashed their Special Abilities with every ounce of strength they had. Their speed was therefore unimaginably fast, and they reached a height of several hundred meters in the blink of an eye.
At this moment, they were incredibly tense, aware that all the guns of the Cosmic Battleship were locked on them. If it fired, they would surely die a wretched death.
However, the Cosmic Battleship was still under the control of the Mechanical Warrior, War God 001. But due to Tutu's virus attack, it had malfunctioned. It stood frozen like an idiot, its head flashing red continuously as the alarm blared without stopping. So, with no one to order an attack, all its weapons were rendered useless.
Zhang Bin sped up even more, shouting frantically in his mind, Faster, faster, we only have thirty seconds!
Time slipped away rapidly: 25, 24, 23...
10, 9, 8... 3, 2, 1... Just as the thirty seconds ran out, Zhang Bin and the others reached the open ocean and plunged into the sea with a SPLASH.
They sank like meteorites, diving rapidly. Soon, they were riding on Xiao Jin, which swam swiftly toward America at a breakneck pace. In the blink of an eye, they were thousands of meters away.
Ma Rufei and Chen Chaoyue both grumbled inwardly, their faces showing their relief at having narrowly escaped death. Damn it, why is it that every time we're with Zhang Bin, we have to escape by diving into the sea? One more time and I'll suffocate for real! We almost died this time. It was so dangerous, but also thrilling.
But Zhang Bin wasn't as relieved as they were; he sensed that they might still be in danger. So, he continued to urge Xiao Jin to swim faster, to get as far away as possible.
In reality, Tutu had held out for about thirty-five seconds before the Mechanical Warrior snapped out of its malfunctioning state. Seething with fury, it shouted, "Audacious, truly audacious! To attack me with a virus! There is actually an AI on this planet on par with me. You won't escape..."
Its eyes suddenly emitted a strange radiance as it yelled, "God of Destruction, locate those four Insectoid Beasts, then lock onto them! Prepare to launch Nuclear Weapons!"
"War God 001, the threat has been eliminated," a cold, mechanical voice sounded from within the Cosmic Battleship. "You do not have the authorization to activate a Nuclear Weapon attack. Please return to the ship."
"You're lucky this time. If you dare come here again, we will immediately annihilate you."
War God 001 stomped its foot and returned to the Cosmic Battleship in a frustrated rage. Obviously, it was only authorized to command the battleship to attack when the ship itself was threatened. Now that the threat was eliminated, its authorization was revoked. It wasn't even permitted to pursue Zhang Bin's group. Otherwise, it was highly doubtful that Zhang Bin and his team could have escaped.
As soon as War God 001 was back inside the Cosmic Battleship, the door closed behind it, and all the protruding gun barrels automatically retracted.
The giant pit once again became peaceful, as if nothing had happened at all.
HUFF... HUFF... Zhang Bin and his team surfaced dozens of nautical miles away, greedily gasping for air, their faces etched with wariness. But there was nothing—no sound, no terrifying nuclear cannon attacks, and no powerful Mechanical Warriors in pursuit.
"It seems we're safe for now," the three of them murmured, breathing a silent, collective sigh of relief.
Zhang Bin asked Tutu telepathically, "Tutu, do you think they will pursue us?"
Tutu replied, "Master, my attempt to infiltrate War God 001's AI was unsuccessful, but I did manage to obtain some data. I'm analyzing and decrypting it now. Until the decryption is complete, I can't be sure if they will pursue us. For now, we should get as far away as possible."
Joy filled Zhang Bin's heart, and a look of anticipation crossed his face. He actually got some data? That's fantastic!
Truth be told, he was extremely wary of this Cosmic Battleship. He estimated that even the combined military might of all of Earth would not be able to take down this single ship. Therefore, knowing one's enemy was essential to finding a way to deal with them. Now that they had some of the data, they might be able to learn its secrets and perhaps discover its weaknesses.
Zhang Bin laughed bitterly to himself. I can't believe the short film I made back in the day about a Cosmic Battleship invading Earth has actually come true.
Without any delay, he used the Array Plate communicator to instruct Xiao Qian and Hong Ya to stop searching for new plants on the island and regroup with them immediately. Meanwhile, they continued to head rapidly in the direction of America.
When Hong Ya flew back carrying Xiao Qian, Zhang Bin asked them a few questions. They were now able to communicate with him via text through the Array Plate's communicator, and he got the information he wanted: there was no activity on the island.
He felt a wave of relief; their lives were saved for now. But the crisis facing Earth was far from over.
After pondering for a moment, he said seriously, "Brothers, I feel that the Cosmic Battleship is too powerful and terrifying, far beyond our planet's technology. What do you think, should we share this secret with our country?"
"No, no, no, absolutely not!" Ma Rufei and Chen Chaoyue shook their heads vehemently. "If we tell our governments, the world's technological powers will surely team up to attack the Cosmic Battleship. That would provoke a counterattack that could destroy the entire planet! But if we keep it a secret, the Extraterrestrials on the ship won't be a threat to Earth. They're all dead, and there's no one left to command them. We should just leave the ship there until it turns to dust."
"Alright, we'll keep it a secret for now," Zhang Bin said with a solemn nod. Inwardly, however, he wasn't nearly as optimistic as the other two. Have the Black Prison Star People really all died?
