Chapter Ten: Doubtful Unreliability

After contacting Zheng Yixuan, Li Yan felt more relaxed while waiting. Although Zheng Yixuan doesn't mean invincibility in court, Paradise Group surely has some measures, and he could offer more professional advice, see through some of the other party's tricky legal maneuvers, and so on.

By eight o'clock in the evening, Li Yan was still in the eighth-floor office. Zhang Yurong's high-level meeting had already ended, and some of her urgent arrangements were deployed. Although it may not have immediate results or effects, it's not something that can be solved by rushing. Tonight, after everyone returns home, they'll continue to pay attention to and think about this issue. All executives will keep their phone lines open so they can communicate news with each other promptly.

At this moment, Zhang Yurong, under high-intensity pressure, was physically and mentally exhausted, but she still gathered her energy and let all the girls at the president's office who were working overtime leave. Ke Yunyun, somewhat worried about her condition, suggested letting Xiao Yan drive her home.

Yurong wasn't convenient to let her drive her home, so she politely declined, asking them to go home first themselves. She also remembered Li Yan was still waiting for her on the eighth floor. As everyone was packing up to leave, she left too.

The elevator arrived at the quiet eighth floor, and Zhang Yurong walked into the Heavenly Film office, heading into the manager's office inside.

"You really came?" Seeing Li Yan inside the office, Yurong felt a warmth in her heart. Although work matters were making her headache today, thinking about her man especially coming over to wait for her to get off work, her heart was comforted greatly.

"How could it be fake?" Li Yan stood up with a smile.

"I'm done with my work, let's... go back! You didn't eat dinner and came over, you must be hungry." Yurong also tried to smile, with much of the weariness between her brows dissipating.

Li Yan walked up to her, pulled her to sit down on the chair, and placed her bag on the seat.

"What are you doing?" Yurong was a bit puzzled.

Li Yan stood behind her, kneading her shoulders: "Now other executives and people from the president's office have just left. Maybe they're still in the parking lot downstairs. If we go out now, we're sure to bump into them. Why not rest a bit longer?"

"Oh..." Yurong felt slightly guilty, as she had to constantly hide their relationship despite being legally married to him.

Li Yan was gently kneading her shoulders, directly asking: "When I came up, Xueyin hadn't left yet, I heard from her."

"Heard what?" Yurong closed her eyes, enjoying his massage. After replying casually, she realized and opened her eyes: "Do you know what's happening with the company?"

"Because Xueyin is one of our own, she knows a bit, and you didn't seal her lips, I am also one of our own, so she told me when she felt helpless." Li Yan said truthfully.

Yurong gave a bitter smile: "Li Yan, it's not that I don't consider you as one of our own, I didn't tell you just now because..."

"It's because the circumstances didn't allow it, everything was urgent, and you had to focus every moment on discussing strategies. Plus, even if you told me, I wouldn't be able to help much, I understand."

Yurong didn't know what to say, it really was the case, telling Li Yan wouldn't help, so she'd bear it herself, why make another person worry?

"Xueyin knows limited things, I searched online for company news, roughly guessing a bit of the situation. What is the company's strategy now?" Li Yan asked in a low voice.

Taking a breath, Yurong gently said: "Li Yan... I know you're worried about me, but it's okay, it's not my first day working, I've seen some storms too, you don't need to worry about this issue, the company will handle it."

"Nonsense! I can not worry about the company, but you're my wife, how can I just watch you labor?" Li Yan flicked his finger on the back of her head in mock anger, then continued: "Alright, maybe you think explaining to me, given my understanding capacity, would be somewhat troublesome. So I recommended a professional, maybe he could give you some advice."

"A professional? Advice?" Yurong turned her head in curiosity to look at him.

Li Yan nodded, then apologized: "Sorry, I thought the matter was urgent, and I didn't know when you'd finish the meeting, so I made a decision for you first. I contacted a lawyer..."

Yurong furrowed her brows, feeling that he might have good intentions gone awry, but considering his attention and concern for her, and for the company's matters, being upset wouldn't do. It would deeply impact his enthusiasm, so she softened her tone: "Actually, the problem isn't as big as you think, our company isn't short of lawyers... by the way, you didn't tell anyone else about this, right?"

Li Yan didn't want to deceive her, but telling the truth would certainly make her even more anxious and worried, possibly preventing her from facing it calmly, so he maintained a benevolent lie.

"Didn't tell anyone." Zheng Yixuan, to him, didn't quite count as anyone else.

Yurong still had some doubts, but he wasn't a child, she believed he knew what could or couldn't be said. "That's good, our company can solve it ourselves, don't worry. Let's go back! If it's too late, Yue Yao might get worried again."
