Lin Mu gave a nod to Elyon. "Be careful and gather what you can."
Cattaleya waved casually. "Leave the baby to me. I will make sure he does not choke on his own tongue."
Meng Bai attempted to glare at her from the couch but failed miserably.
Lin Mu and Daoist Chu stepped out of the inn and headed straight toward the nearest Immortal Court office.
It was located in a tall stone tower shaped like a spiraling dragon. The plaza around it was bustling with cultivators and filled with stalls selling talismans, spirit maps, scrolls, alchemical pills, martial talismans, and some crystals carved in various forms.
Daoist Chu approached the front desk inside the office and showed their tokens. The attendants immediately straightened and bowed with respectful expressions. Within minutes they were handed access to the Hall of Maps.
Inside this hall, dozens of glowing boards and maps were arranged across the walls. They displayed teleportation routes, cross world connections, safe planets, and environmental dangers.
Daoist Chu handed Lin Mu a thick jade tablet. "This one contains the route reports for the entire region."
Lin Mu poured his immortal sense into it and found the section that corresponded to the coordinates he had noted from the Rune Dwarves.
The tablet displayed a faintly glowing route.
The world at the given coordinates was called Runweld Barren World. It was marked in dull yellow, indicating a half destroyed environment.
Lin Mu read the description. "A world destroyed in ancient times. Atmospheric collapse. Scarce resources. Mountain Dwarves live here in isolated cities deep underground."
It was exactly as the Rune Dwarves had said.
Daoist Chu added, "There are no teleportation arrays on Runweld Barren World. It is too unstable to support them. The nearest accessible world is Fox Scion World."
Lin Mu read further.
Fox Scion World was labeled as a minor world with minimal danger. No major factions, small kingdoms, and a few fox beastkin tribes who acted as royal families. Spiritual energy was moderate, perhaps slightly higher than common worlds, but not too significant.
Daoist Chu continued. "To reach Runweld Barren World, we must go through three different worlds first. The last teleportation will take us to Fox Scion World. From there, we will have to fly through space."
Lin Mu calculated the distance. It would take at least a month of direct flight, even at full speed, assuming they encountered no space storms or void fields.
Lin Mu let out a slow breath. "It seems our next journey will be even longer."
Daoist Chu nodded. "Perhaps two years total. Maybe more." He estimated based on the long distance teleportation Arrays they would have to take.
Each of the three worlds they must pass through were quite far apart taking at least six months to cover.
Lin Mu closed the jade tablet. "Then we should prepare. Once Meng Bai recovers, we will begin."
The two left the Immortal Court office with clear directions now. When they returned to the inn, Meng Bai was upright again and Cattaleya looked bored after having no one to tease.
Elyon returned shortly after, reporting many interesting rumors and bits of information. Some were related to their route, some to the Martial Fist King World and a bunch of tournaments that were going to happen. Most of the other stuff was purely gossip though but all of it would be useful eventually.
As night settled on the outpost, the group finally returned to their rooms, ready to rest before beginning another long journey.
Their path toward the Dwarves was beginning to take shape.
And with each step, the Immortal Realm seemed to grow larger and more dangerous.
Lin Mu and Daoist Chu headed out early in the morning, leaving the Coiling Horn Inn behind as sunlight washed over Outpost Eleven.
The streets were already lively. Martial artists were practicing forms in open spaces, vendors were selling talismans that glowed with azure light, and disciples wearing the robes of the Martial Fist King Sect walked by with calm yet intimidating presence.
Daoist Chu checked their route map again. "If we can secure a slot today, we should be able to move within a couple of days or maybe a week."
Lin Mu nodded. "The sooner we reach Khwanzim World, the sooner we can make progress toward Fox Scion World."
Khwanzim world was none other than the first world they'd pass through on the way to Fox Scion World.
They soon reached the teleportation hall. It was even larger than the one in Outpost Thirteen, decorated with murals of the Azure Dragon in various phases of motion. A massive statue of a coiling dragon stood in the center, its jade scales shimmering gently.
Several clerks in blue robes were stationed behind a long counter. Many travelers waited in line for travel registrations, inquiries, or schedule adjustments.
Lin Mu and Daoist Chu's tokens allowed them to bypass the queue, and they stepped up to the counter.
The clerk, a middle aged woman with sharp eyes, bowed politely. "Honored guests, how may the teleportation offices assist you today?"
Daoist Chu answered, "We wish to register a travel slot to Khwanzim World."
The clerk blinked. "Khwanzim World… Please allow me a moment."
She tapped several runic plates on her desk. Lines of text appeared in the air, shimmering with blue light. A frown slowly formed on her face.
She looked up. "I am afraid travel to Khwanzim World is not possible at this time."
Lin Mu narrowed his eyes slightly. "Is the array down for maintenance?"
The clerk shook her head. "No. The array itself is functional. However, all routes classified as low traffic have been suspended temporarily."
Daoist Chu raised a brow. "Suspended? Why would that be?"
The clerk brought up another set of glowing text. "Because of the upcoming martial events. The Martial Fist King World is hosting several tournaments this year, including the once in a century Grand Martial Fist King Tournament. The number of visitors is expected to increase by several folds, especially from nearby worlds."
