The Primordial Record

Chapter 1959: Blade Dance

The Destroyer sang a song of annihilation as it was finally being used by its master. Even with all the power being poured inside of it, the Destroyer was not able to output as much damage as the venom of the Beast of Inevitability, yet it was far more effective because of its wielder.

One swing from Eos ended hundreds of Abominations as the blade in his hand seemed to hold endless transformation; one moment it looked like a whip, the next a lightning bolt, a disk, a hammer, and so on. It was not as if the blade was changing, but the techniques of Eos had reached a realm where his desires became manifestations.

His blade led him, and his body followed, step by step, into madness.

He was not just killing Abominations; as they died, they transformed into golden ash that floated past the shredded domain created by the Abomination to become roots of new Realities.

But the Abomination was vast, for every part that Eos ended, two grew in its place. The evolution of the Abomination seemed to have given it the ability to endlessly manifest new flesh, meaning that it would not matter how much of itself was destroyed, more would be created in its place.

To deal with the swarm of Abomination, Eos had unleashed a heavy blow to push back the main body of the Abomination, but it had shattered that tide of annihilation and began to press closer to Eos while all of its faces were turned towards the ascending Rowan, and rage was beginning to paint all of its many eyes red.

With a loud command from the Abomination the domain it created began to shrink so dramatically, that it pushed Eos and the purple cube towards it, and to protect the cube, Eos diverted more attention to the man body of the Abomination, which led to a single minor Abomination from the swarm passing through the storm of blades created by his Destroyer and latching onto his shoulder.

Passing through the swings of his blade had sliced the Abomination in two, and a wave of annihilation was rapidly turning it to golden dust, but it had bitten down on his shoulder with a vengeance and poured corruption into his body.

Eos bled for the first time, but this was the least of his worries. The flesh of his shoulder turned white and began to sprout arms, hundreds of faces were beginning to rise from his shoulders, but their eyes were closed, yet they struggled to open them, with the new powers of the Abomination, if they opened their eyes, then every part of his body that they could see, would be a host for their corruption.

Eos reversed his blade and dug it into his shoulder, cutting into his flesh without flinching and flicking the severed piece away, which dissolved into light.

He kept walking despite the increasing danger. Eos could see that after the Abomination had evolved from the venom of the Beast of Inevitability, another round of evolution had begun after it faced him, and Eos could see that a sort of intense change was happening at the center of the Abomination, including every single spawn it was sending against him.

A bright reddish ripple suddenly erupted from all the Abomination, and the time inside this domain stretched. The Abomination knew Eos so well that it understood time stop would not hold a being of his power, and that it would, in fact, lead to a backlash; instead, it stretched time.

All of this was just to delay Rowan from reaching the Primordial level, and it was working. Eos could push through this slowed time by simply accelerating his body and the streams of time around him, but his Incarnation did not have the vastness of his energy stores and was focused on ascension, leaving few resources left to fight against this power.

Eos growled as he began pushing toward the heart of the Abomination, where he could see a child-shaped thing emerging from it. The new evolution of the Abomination was still ongoing, and he needed to stop it.

The child growing in the heart of the Abomination whispered, "Stop him."

That order was all that was needed for the Abominations to swarm him without any regard for their life, as the main body of the Abomination, even while evolving, was continuously releasing thousands of new Abominations from the edges of its flesh. Eos recognizes that this was the final move of the Abomination to discard its previous form before it assumed a new one.

Eos did not pause; victory went to the bold, and although the possibility of dying here was high, it did not stop him from fighting. There was no single hesitation in his heart.

The Destroyer grew heavier with every annihilation it delivered, and Eos's arms trembled with the strain of killing tens of thousands with every moment. This was not the sort of battle that he could afford to think or use fancy abilities; only pure focus and the sheer edge of his blade could save him when every Abomination he was cutting down was many times more powerful than an average Primordial.

The strain was adding up, and he was getting injured, but his blade was always ready to carve out that piece of his flesh before the corruption could take root, and he did not stop his forward momentum, despite the increasing wave of enemies pouring down on him.

If anyone waa watching this battle, they would see a lone figure with a single blade, wading against a swarm of Abomination, each of them were a tenth of his size, but they numbered in the millions, and they were all pouring down upon him, and only his blade was flashing, faster than light, faster than thought, and that blade was reaping their lives and creating roots of life.

As it was, someone was watching, and it was the Beast of Inevitability, alongside the Realities it had saved; they were frozen in astonishment as they saw the impossible.

Eos had seen the Beast approaching due to his Archai, but that awareness was relegated to a small part of his mind while he was focused on this battle.

The Abomination's voice, which had transformed once more, echoed inside Eos's head, and he frowned. The power of the Abomination was beginning to use more of its corrupted Concepts instead of using its flesh as it had been doing all this time,

"Give him to me."

Eos paused, shook his head, and grinned. His blood was beginning to burn as once more he had seen a power that was able to push him to his limits, and there seemed to be more to come. He answered the mad request of the Abomination with the sword.

There was nothing that was taking his attention, only the battle, and Eos entered the zone that he had watched his Incarnation Rowan enter so many times. He became his sword and the sword became him, and now he was no longer pouring just Ether into the Destroyer, now he poured his Essence, and waves of blade light, infinite in number, began to radiate all around him as he cut through millions of Abominations to reach its core.

Slicing apart a thousand Abominations with a single motion to stand before the emerging monstrosity, Eos, covered in blood and flesh and looking like he had bathed in a pool of crushed bodies, grinned, "You forgot to say please."

In response, the child opened its mouth wide enough to swallow him.
