Whatever Enoch did next, Rowan was loosely aware of it, Lumen had taken note, but its focus was on something else… the connection Lumen had with him.
The wings of Enoch had been discarded, and before understanding the history of End, Rowan would have thought that this decision was solely that of Enoch, but there was something more sinister in play here; the power of End must have surely recognized the memories of the Luminious left inside the wings of Enoch, and they made sure that he disposed of his wings.
If Enoch had kept his wings for longer than he did, then with the deaths of every Luminous, their legacy would be passed along to him, but the power of End would not want something like that to happen. If Enoch were aware that there was an unknown force stalking the entirety of Existence and the length that the Luminious had to go to hold back this force, then he would not have used the power of End that was given to him.
Rowan knew that he had finally found the edge over Enoch; however, what he had to gain was not yet over. The visions up to this point had been the foundation, and what was coming next would be the key.
The discarded wings of Enoch did not disappear; they went into dormancy, knowing that it was the only way they could preserve themselves.
By this time, Enoch was deep into the madness of End, and endless creation and chaos spewed from him like a flood. Enoch might have been thinking that it was Change that he sought, but the wings, Lumen, knew that all of this was a manipulation by the power of End to bring back its prime feeding ground.
If Enoch had discovered that his wings had survived, he would have quickly destroyed them because he would be fearful that the stillness of the Luminious would infect his new paradise.
The Luminious knew that End grew by the power of Desire, and the more life that was spread by creation, conflicts and change would arise, and this would lead to another round of destruction, a destruction that it craves.
The threshold that the actions of the Luminious had denied this force would be achieved, and it would use the power of a Luminious to achieve its unknown purpose.
Lumen hid from the sight of Enoch and returned to the place where Enoch had sheltered himself from the destruction of the previous Existence. In that place, it had seen the remnants of the tools Enoch had used and realized that the power of End had deeply infected it.
At first, Lumen wanted to destroy the hammer and the forge, but it held back this desire, and chose to keep them, so it could sturdy this force.
Perhaps it was because this hammer and forge were built from Luminious Essence, making it almost indestructible, that it was able to hold so much power of End, and not just do so, but it made this power become dormant.
It was as if, in the destruction of Existence, a small part of End were cut off and imprisoned within the hammer and the forge. This became a chance for Lumen to understand this power; however, in the memories Lumen was passing to Rowan, the knowledge it had gained was not included.
Rowan would have found it suspicious if he did not know that what the wings had transmitted to him was already killing him. If he took any more than this, then he would have perished on the spot, and the chance for Eos to learn anything from his sojourn into this temple would be lost.
Although the wings sturdied the power of End in secret, it also kept a close eye on the Existence that Enoch was creating. Lumen knew that the power of End would soon rear its ugly head, and a new wave of destruction would arise.
However, it did not anticipate what Enoch would do next, and perhaps even End did not know how deeply the desires in the heart of Enoch were, but Enoch may have destroyed the previous Existence, but what he created with the power he had gathered was beyond anything that Lumen had ever witnessed before.
You see, before the present state of Existence that Enoch had created, which was endlessly expanding, every previous Existence did not have this feature. They were incredibly vast; any lower immortals would call it infinite, but those like the Luminious knew that Existence had edges.
However, what was happening here was different. At first, Existence reached its previous limits, and if Enoch was not swept up in the height of change, he would have stopped and focused on what he had created, but he did not stop.
Lumen did not expect this, and it was sure that End also did not expect this change, because it began to draw upon Enoch's vitality to power the expansion of Existence, but it did not expect the impossible resilience of a Lumininious.
From the beginning of existence until its end, there would never be any race as powerful as the Luminious, and Enoch was arguably the most powerful of the Luminious.
Lumen had been studying the power of End, and it knew that when Enoch began to consume his vitality to pursue the growth of Existence, there was still more power of End left for him to use, but this malevolent force had held back its strength; however, it did not anticipate the foundation of a Luminious body.
Any other race would have been exhausted in a fraction of a nanosecond if they used their vitality to expand Existence, but Enoch, condemned as he was, did the bloodline of the Luminious proud… he lasted for two hundred million Cosmic Eras!
Apart from the sheer resilience inside the body of a Luminious, even after Enoch lost almost half of his strength when he tore out his wings, something else gave him the drive to push to this insane level, and that was the sheer hunger and grief inside his heart that he did not understand.
The Luminious were beings who thrived on stillness and their unchanging nature, yet when the grief of change entered their hearts, it was stronger than any race in Reality could ever feel.
While it was true that the Luminious did not want to feel, it did not mean that their depths of emotions were shallow; it was, in fact, the opposite… it was nearly limitless.
Enoch was cursed with all the grief for Change of the Luminous, and so his actions could no longer be judged with common sense. He did not know how to stop, until everything of him was gone, and not even his voice remained.
Lumen watched all of this with sadness and grief, and its rage and hate of Enoch was suppressed because he saw the tortured soul that the selfish actions of the Luminious created.
Still, this caused a situation that was beyond the expectations of all the hidden parties. Enoch had stretched Existence past the point where it could be contained, and if the power he had used in doing this came solely from End, it would have been a simple thing for this malevolent force to reverse this change… but it was not.
End had unknowingly shot itself in the foot when it withdrew its powers from Enoch, expecting him to stop, and now that Existence had grown past its plans, it could no longer easily resolve this problem.
