The Primordial Record

Chapter 1974: Teach... Fear (1)

The blade of the Destroyer met the Abomination's chest, and a loud shrieking sound erupted as the blade of the Destroyer tore through enough defenses that would protect this Abomination from the Destruction of Existence ten times over, and passed through as if the body was only a memory.

But where it passed, reality, space, time, and everything in between ended.

The wound was a clean slice of absence carved through the white robe, through the chest, and through the boyish heart that wasn't a heart. In this terrible stroke, Eos severed the immortality under his blade.

However, this terrible wound did not bleed, as no matter the amount of blood that should have emerged from it, the aura of absence left in the cut drained the essence from the Abomination.

Reality seemed to blur, and the Destroyer that had sliced its way out of the body of the Abomination reappeared inside the wound, while still blasting out an intense aura of annihilation and absence.

The edges of the wound folded inward, trying to close, but the absence from that sword wound continued to spread, slowly but seemingly, inevitable. The body of this Abomination was made from Realities, and the power Eos had used not only cut through this body, but also killed something else inside the Abomination.

Staggering backward, the Abomination remained silent as it looked down at the wound, then it smiled, and Eos could feel both the gaze of Enoch and End upon him.

"Thank you," it said in Enoch's gentle voice. "That felt… new. I have never felt… pain before."

The Destroyer was still inside its chest, and instead of going back, it stepped forward, deeper into the blade, while maintaining its smile; it was as if this were the only emotion it knew.

The white body pressed against the Destroyer, letting the absence sink deeper, and now it began to bleed its foul corruption, and there was so much of it that the Destroyer was struggling to annihilate everything.

Now that he was so close to the Abomination, Eos could see that the corruption pouring from this Abomination was familiar. It was Enoch's Rot. However, it was a bit different from the one he had gained after consuming the consciousness of Enoch left inside the Primordial Record.

"You are not going to win Eos. Everything you have was given to you by my hand. Take all of my roots away from you, and what do you have left?"

The corruption began to crawl up the blade, as white veins spread across the golden glow emerging from the blade and tearing into the metal, as it neared the hilt of his Destroyer, Eos twisted the sword and unleashed Finality Strikes.

"Whoosh!"

The blade ignited with golden-black fire; this flame came from the merged light of every Reality Eos had freed as he battled the previous clusters of Abomination.

It was the perfect counter to Enoch's Rot, and the fire burned the rot away, but the Abomination did not pull back; it continued pushing its body into the blade while slowly bringing up its arms as though it wanted to hug Eos, the faces that made up its skin began to speak, and their voices were those of the Cradle's devoured children across all the Realities the Abomination had consumed.

"Make it stop…"

"Mummy… Daddy… it hurts."

Countless quadrillions of voices poured into Eos's mind and he froze, and his body lost its Eclipsed form, causing the smile of the Abomination to become wider as it reached across to touch Eos's face while its second hand reached for the purple cube hanging around Eos's nect, but before his hand could reach either target, the dull gaze of Eos sharpened.

He had not been under any compulsion the entire time. There was no way he would fall for such a move when he saw the Abomination use the same tactics against the Beast of Inevitability.

Eos sneered and twisted his wrist, while Infinite Rage was activated inside of him, all directed towards his Tri-Core Sigils in his chest. In this instant, the number of Eos that the Sigil could hold in a single moment multiplied exponentially as what sounded like a heartbeat blasted out of it.

Power of such incredible magnitude exploded out of the Sigil, and Eos's consciousness struggled to channel them all into his arm, and in an instant, his hand swelled up, so much power filling it up that it would have exploded if not for its natural defenses hastily transforming some of those energies into Blood of the Fallen Gods.

This caused his arms to turn as red as iron inside the forge, but it was not enough. With a roar, Eos unleashed a Realm's Butcher Onslaught with all the power that his soul could push out in a single moment, and the slight twist in his wrist completed its whole arc.

A loud clang shook all of Existence as the Destroyer that Eos had pushed inside the chest of the Abomination was snapped in two. The force that emerged from this ridiculous act crushed every bone in the body of the Abomination, as it vaporized half of the entire particle in its body.

Eos was left with only a hilt with a bit of the broken blade sticking out of it, and before the Abomination's mind could begin to understand what was happening to it, he slammed what remained of the blade and a greater part of the hilt underneath its chin until the tip of the blade burst out of the Abomination's head.

In one moment, Eos had appeared as if he was dazed and under the trap of the Abomination, in the next, half of his Destroyer was inside the shredded torso of the Abomination, while he held it up in the air using the remnant of his blade to impale it.

He whispered, "Explode."

The broken hilt buried beneath the Abomination's chin pulsed once, as if confirming the order from Eos, then the remnant blade inside its torso detonated with the compressed absence of every reality Eos had ever freed.

The explosion was silent at first, as a perfect void bloomed within the white body, swallowing sound, color, motion. The Abomination's calm face was still frozen in shock, eyes wide with the first true surprise it had ever tasted. Then the absence ruptured outward.

White flesh vaporized in sheets, peeling away like burning paper to reveal the screaming layers beneath. Realities made of crystal spires crumbling into dust, smaller Abominations uncoiling inside them that turned into ash. These were supposed to be the next evolution of this Abomination, but before they could know their purpose, they were all destroyed.

Quadrillions of devoured children's faces surfaced on the shredding skin, mouths opening in a collective exhale as they screamed in pain, yet what every child was screaming was, "I love you."

The force hurled the Abomination backward, limbs flailing in slow, graceful arcs as half its mass simply ceased. Where the upper torso had been, only a ragged cavity remained, edges folding inward like a wound trying to forget it had ever been cut.

White pus and golden absence mixed in the air, hissing where they touched, birthing brief, screaming micro-realities that lived and died in the space between heartbeats.

Eos did not let go of the hilt of the Destroyer, still buried in the skull of the Abomination.

His hand, swollen, red-black with Blood of the Slain Gods, tightened on the hilt. He yanked the Abomination close again, pulling its ruined body against his own, and he whispered,

"I shall teach you what it means to fear."

All the blood in his arm poured into the hilt of the Destroyer, and the top of the Abomination's head exploded as another blade was reborn from the blood.
