The Primordial Record

Chapter 1979: Battle Frenzy

The evolution of the Abomination was different this time; its new body folded inward to compress its mass. The corrupted realities inside of it multiplied exponentially before they were crushed together to form flesh that was so dense that only its foul will was capable of commanding it.

It surrounded its outer body with bone plates reinforced with the screams of the dead, vibrating with eldritch madness. The boyish face that it still kept in this evolution, split open, revealing a vast mouth lined with teeth that were shards of devoured dreams.

It gave a freakish laugh before lunging at Eos and clamping its mouth on Eos's shoulder.

Its teeth ground into Eos's prismatic flesh, the enhanced Enoch's Rot thrice evolved began flooding in like acid. The rot spread instantly, as white veins raced toward his heart, causing his flesh to sag and parasitic arms sprout from his flesh that clawed at his own body.

Pain lanced through him, absolute, intimate; it was as if his own existence was rebelling, and it was one of the most horrifying things he had ever felt.

Eos roared and activated Titan's Apotheosis, his body swelling grotesquely as Constitution Core spiked, adding more depth to the durability he was gaining from the Tri-Core Sigil, his flesh hardened into layered dimensions, and Eos began to push the rot away.

The bite passed through alternate selves that died screaming in his place, blood spraying from phantom wounds. In a brief moment, ten of his alternate selves died in his place. He twisted, ripping free with a chunk of his own shoulder missing, the rot still lingering and burning like fire.

However, if the Abomination thought that Eos would run, it was wrong. Disregarding the stubborn stain of rot that clung to his shoulder, Eos attacked.

Even though he had not used any of his myriad powers due to their destructive nature, his powerful soul meant that after all the time that had passed, Eos had mastered them to their peak.

He called upon Apocalyptic Onslaught, and a billion arms bloomed behind him like a flower. His Wings of Omniverse were used to channel the power of Godforge Unmade into these arms, transforming them into living cathedrals of screaming portals.

Each portal birthed a strike, which were fists of collapsed dimensions, instantly multiplying his strikes exponentially, all of these fists punched through the Abomination's shields of bones, crushing and slicing huge chunks of its flesh clean off. Gore sprayed, white blood mixing with golden absence, birthing brief micro-realities that screamed and died.

This move crushed more than seventy percent of the Abomination's body, and the destruction was racing across its flesh to destroy it entirely when the Abomination reared and reached deep into unknown places, pulling forth echoes of the blighted eras the Luminous had known and feared End. Waves of stillness erupted from the screaming Abomination that simplified everything they touched, turning motion to calm, chaos to order, and they poured over Eos in a frenzy

Eos grunted as he felt his Essence and all the Origin forces he held in his body strained against this unwanted power, causing his body to be locked into rigid simplicity.

Eyes gleaming with fury like a star, Eos finally began to use his Will to battle, channeling the Will of Destruction across his flesh where they detonated, and although they hurt him, they also ate the stillness wave from inside, shattering them into harmless fragments; even the stubborn flame of corruption burning on his shoulder was destroyed.

But the effort cost him, his prismatic skin cracked, leaking bloody light that the Abomination's mouths lapped up mid-air as it chuckled, but it had learned and did not give Eos the chance to counter it, as it no longer spoke, but attacked.

The creature lunged again, body unfolding into a storm of tendrils. Each of the tendrils was tipped with mouths that exhaled fog of Absence, as it evolved to begin using the power of Eos; however, the concept of Absence that it controlled was different from Eos's.

Its power carries the weight of voluntary surrender that was filled with the taint of despair. The fog rushed across time and space and clung to Eos, seeping into pores, and where it could not find any entrance, it ate through his flesh, making limbs heavy as it imposed another curse of Enoch, making The Flesh-That-Is-Not-Flesh take hold of Eos's body.

Tiny arms sprouted from his chest, clawing at Eos's beating heart, and he dismissively sliced them away with Finality Strikes. His Destroyer had been healing from the previous strikes, and now it had evolved once again, stronger and more deadly.

The blade of the Destroyer ignited with golden-black fire that burned the fog to ash, and Eos pressed forward, Destroyer carving through the tendrils of the Abomination in a whirlwind of strikes, each swing ending a layer of the Abomination's defenses.

The Abomination would not let Eos come close as it split open its torso, revealing a rift to the pit of despair, and from it poured out cries of fallen immortals and gods. Theor cries were like sonic waves that warped the higher dimensions, causing the space around and before Eos to twist, and they would have pulled him into their madness, but Eos manifested alternate selves who fell to the madness and were dragged, screaming, into the pit of despair.

He stabilized the space around his original body with Will of Space Origin, and folded the dimensions around him back into place, but the wave of shattered dimensions clipped his wing, causing a burst of light and feathers to spray out from his wings as a portion of it was lost.

Pain exploded across his entire body as if a piece of his soul had been torn free.

Eos roared and unleashed Realm's Butcher Onslaught, the Destroyer multiplying into a storm of blades, each carving through the pits of despair that had floated out of the body of the Abomination. The sonic wave shattered, sending endless waves of backlash towards the creature, but the Abomination adapted, body compressing to form a denser core, fused corrupted realities hardening into a shield of white bone veined with stolen time that covered its entire body.

It needed a brief moment to push past the backlash and attack Eos, but it was a step too late as Eos drove the Destroyer into the shield.

The blade ground through with a shriek, sparks of golden-black fire flying as it chewed through the armor. White bone shattered, leaking screams that warped the void, causing a storm that shattered all nine dimensions around them, forcing Eos to adjust his Space Origin to stabilize his position.

He twisted the blade, pulling out a chunk of fused corrupted reality that writhed in his hand like a living organ, and crushed it in his fist, gore spraying as the Abomination staggered.

The creature's face cracked further, leaking golden absence from the eyes. Admiration and hate were in its eyes as it whispered,

"You can't kill what is inevitable," and reached into the past once more, drawing from history that was beyond this present Existence, pulling forth waves of stillness that simplified everything they touched. This was the stillness that remained after the end of Existence, and it contained such despair that it should have never been known by anything living, but this Abomination poured everything against Eos.

Eos should have been broken here, but he countered with the Will of Elder, the origins of Bahamut, Ouroboros, and Serathis, and the hidden few he had chosen to shield from the Primordial Record surged to stabilize the stillness.

With a growl, he shattered the stillness wave with a punch that collapsed the air into a massive black hole, sucking in tendrils and flesh of the Abomination alike.
