The Primordial Record

Chapter 1996: Origin Combination

The Abomination and the Primordials were frozen in place, more than anyone here, they knew the significance of what Rowan was accomplishing, Existence innately tended towards the power of Origin and End was the antithesis of it, and all these while, End had been growing to the extent that if given enough time and opportunity, it would extinguish all traces of Origin, and if nothing had changed, this was what was bound to happen.

The Primordials had always believed that they were the masters of Origin; their heritage meant they were able to hold multiple Origin Forces inside their bodies, but this path was one of stagnancy, as they were following the path of the Luminious, and what was left at the end of this path was nothing but destruction.

If they won, they would soon enjoy the benefits of being the masters of Existence for a while, but sooner than they think, the stars would begin to die out, and there would be no more children born. Even if they reduced the size of Existence and filled it with their essence, they would soon find out that everything would begin to die, mortals first, then the immortals, and finally they would be alone in the dark for all eternity, kings of bones.

In the worlds created by Rowan, they saw the truth, and they were frozen in place, denial and fear warring in their minds. Was this truly the end of their path? Would their greatest achievement be one where they wished to have never been born?

"He deceives you!" the general of Death screamed, breaking the Primordials and the Abomination from the spell of Rowan's creations, "Snap out of it, he is getting away."

The realms Rowan was creating surrounded him like tiny shiny pearls and this had been distracting the Primordials, but Death was inherently closer towards the power of End than anyone here, not even the Abomination, and so while its allies had been enraptured by seeing the power of creation in its purest form, it had only been distracted for a while before a deep sense of distaste had filled it.

There was nothing in this realm that it craved because in them it saw its end. It was not as if there would be no dying in these realms, but the souls of all who died would go through a rebirth process, and if they wanted, they could shed their memories and start over, or they could be reborn with all their previous memories in place.

In a realm like this, Death was no longer a force to be reckoned with; he would just be a doorway, one of the natural building blocks of life. How could it allow its glory to be reduced to such an extent, and a world with so much life and possibilities just felt wrong to the Beast of Final Rest.

It knew of the eventual demise of Existence, but that was an outcome that it craved. Life and all the chaos that it brought were not something that Death wanted; eternal stillness was worth the fight, and the children of light and creation would not win this fight.

The pale horse the general rode rushed towards Rowan, but it was futile, space was expanding many times faster than light, and even though Rowan stayed in the same spot, he had already travelled a nearly unfathomable distance.

Normally, the general would easily cross through time and space, but while he could cross through time, space was a separate issue. It fought him, and the hooves of his horse could not find any purchase on space; it was slippery, and he had to shatter it in order for him to move.

His roar of anger was all that was needed to push the Primordials and the Abomination into action. They shook away the doubts in their minds; whatever would come to pass in the future was only showing the interpretation of Eos and not their own. With ultimate power, there was no reason Existence could not be shaped as they saw fit.

Their combined power shattered the space between them and their target. Even though the Abomination and the Primordials had different agendas, they knew they had to work together to stop Rowan, and then they could battle each other for the true winner.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

Limbo quaked around them as they shattered space to get to Rowan, whose eyes were closed, and he looked to be smiling. His one hand was spread wide, and in the calamitous explosion of sounds as the Primordials shattered space and time to reach him, Nyxara thought she heard the sound of music. Rowan was humming.

With a roar of rage, Nyxara stopped hiding her powers. She conjured two spears, each of which was made with a new element that was not Light, nor was it Soul; it had become something else.

The Primordials could contain different Origin Forces in their bodies, and this made them very dangerous, but they also had another well-hidden weapon, and this was the Primordial of Soul, Nyxara.

Enoch had seen this ability, but at that time, he had underestimated its utility, and he had always regretted that moment, wishing that he had created six Primordials instead of seven. Nyxara should have never been born, because even among Abominations, she was worse.

Just like her siblings, Nyxara could contain multiple Origin Forces inside her body, but she could also do something else: she could combine them. This was a unique power of Origin that she had that not even the power of End could easily replicate, not unless an equal price is to be paid, but that price would have to be atrociously precious.

Even in the distance, ROwan trembled when he felt the power of these spears; they were the true atrocity. The Spears in both of her hands vanished, and the Abomination charging beside them stumbled as if he had slammed into a wall. It looked down at its chest to see the head of a gleaming spear; the other spear also appeared in Rowan's chest, crossing space and time as if they were nonexistent.

The Abomination had evolved five times, and at the moment, it was halfway towards its sixth evolution. As long as time kept passing by, it was becoming stronger, and with the power already in its grasp, it was not too wary of the Primordials knowing that it could defend for long enough for it to continuously evolve, and once it killed just one of them, it would have enough fuel to further accelerate its evolution.

Time was on its side, but the Primordials knew this as well, and in its distraction, Nyxara had struck from behind. The Abomination screamed in anger as its chest exploded, shattering space around it and flinging it across dimensions. It would take a few seconds for it to return.

Nyxara frowned. She had expected that spear to kill the Abomination; its survival was a problem, but her focus was on Rowan, and her frown deepened when she noticed that it was already too late. Rowan faded away as if he were a figment of a mad god's imagination.

The spear may have plunged into his body, but there was hardly anything left. He had sacrificed himself to Origin and accelerated the expansion of Existence; however, the death of Rowan was not the main focus, where was the… there! Shining like a black star in the place he had once existed was the Primordial Record.
