The Primordial Record

Chapter 2004: A New Agreement

A look of shock and fury flashed past Nyxara's eyes, but before she could speak, Xylos charged at Eos, drawing out a demonic blade from his side, which was one of his ribs. His voice rippled across space-time.

"I had always wanted to kill you, but we kept you alive for a single purpose; now your life is meaningless, and whatever power you think you hold is nothing."

Eos kept his hands folded behind his back, and his Omniversal wings beat a few times as if testing the surrounding space, but he made no motion to block the attack; instead, a sneer was on his lips.

The rage in Xylos's eyes built up, and his blade, holding the confluence of every doubt in Existence, pierced towards Eos's chest. The tip was an inch from touching his chest when a steaming scythe alongside massive claws struck Xylos from the side and behind.

Not expecting the attack, Xylos screamed in pain and rage as the scythe cut his arm to the bone while the claws shredded one of his wings. He was blasted away from Eos and into another dimension, and a moment later, he returned filled with venom.

The scene he returned to see shocked and angered him to the core. The General of Death and the Abomination had been the ones to strike him, and now they were standing against the Primordials and preventing them from attacking Eos.

Xylos roared, and his demonic nature almost made him go insane. His body began to mutate into a gigantic Demon, and his voice became impossibly deep, "Death, how dare you go against our Agreement? I shall strip your flesh from the bone and make you endure eternal torment for your foolish actions."

"Hold your hand, foolish Demon," the Abomination growled. The emanations of power from its body were greater than before; it had clearly evolved one more time during the period it was banished, and it was increasingly growing harder to know how strong it had become.

The General of Death addressed the Primordial, "I did not break our Agreement; I was saving it. If Xylos had attacked him, it would have led to the expansion of Limbo, and the power of End would become stretched too thin. At that time, it is unknown if the foundation of all our powers would have been stable. Your actions could have doomed us all!"

The change in the body of Primordial Demon began to reverse itself, yet the fury in his eyes did not reduce, but was growing.

"Explain yourself slowly. How does the fucking expansion of Limbo affect our powers?"

This time it was the Abomination that replied, "You are all cursed children, Xylos, Xyris, Elgorath, Vorthas, Eldrithor, Asteroath, even you, Nyxara… Your body may have been built from my flesh, but I sewed you together using the power of End."

Spreading his hands wide, the Abomination growled, "Even the higher dimensions did not exist like this before I remade them using the power of End. I wanted change and to create chaos; I needed to ensure there were countless variations inside Existence. Now think for yourself, you fool… if Limbo is stretched, the power of End would thin, and the very foundations of the higher dimension would be shattered. Without the power of End holding all of this in place… You would collapse under the weight of your own power!"

Nyxara's eyes widened when she heard this explanation, and she turned to Eos, "Knowing this fellow, he would have shattered these Origin Realms, even if it ends up killing him as well, if the result also means our death. Why are we not fighting under the weight of a crushed Existence?"

Then the answer came to her, and Nyxara almost collapsed in laughter, "Hahahaha… I cannot believe this. You have victory handed to you on a silver platter, and the reason you have not taken this path is because of… them?!"

She gestured, and various scenes of mortals and immortals living in Existence appeared.

"We can survive such drastic changes across Limbo, but they all cannot. You will win, but the very foundations of Existence would change, and nothing would be left behind. Is this the answer, Eos? You are trading a sure victory just to keep these… these things, alive? And here I thought we trained you better than this."

Eos slowly shook his head, "You know nothing, Nyxara. The reasons I fight are my own, and the choices I make cannot be judged by the likes of you. Granted, now you know the truth, what would you do about it?"

Nyxara turned towards the General of Death, "If the Origin Realms are destroyed, what is the chance of our victory despite the added weight on our bodies. Eos would be affected as well, and I don't believe all of us combined cannot kill a single Old One, even one as absurdly strong as he is."

The General shook his head, "It does not matter if we have a chance of victory. I cannot permit these Realms to be destroyed. The ramifications on the domain of Death would be terrible, and my power would fall to nothing. You overestimate your abilities, Nyxara… your siblings may survive the crush, but we both know that you have more Origin Essence in your body, and that means there is a high chance that you will perish."

"How interesting," Nyxara smiled while squeezing her fists so tightly that all the bones in her palm were crushed to powder.

She turned towards Eos, "Are you expecting that we would back down and not come for our prize despite knowing all of this?"

"No, you are dogs whose noses have caught the scent of prey, and of course, you would not relent. You want my Singularity, and nothing would stop your actions, you have seen what would happen if you are rash, however, I know this would not be enough, and so I give you a better deal, one that your father," Eos sneered as he looked at the Abomination, "And your so-called partner," he glanced at the General of Death, "Cannot give you… I will give you all a chance to claim these Origin Realms for yourselves."

Everyone's attention was drawn to the Origin Realms due to the threat they posed. They had not seriously analyzed these realms for any benefits, as they simply wanted to erase them.

However, looking at these realms more deeply, the allure of their rare potential began to emerge.

It may not look like much, but everyone here knew that this realm was created by Rowan, who had touched the fifth layer of the Origin of Space.

The potential each of these realms had was endless, and just the fact that destroying one of them could affect the entirety of Limbo so deeply showed that the foundation of each of these Origin Realms equaled that of Existence itself.

"This new Agreement is simple." Eos slowly spoke, "The winner takes all, and this time, the instruments of our battle would not be fought by our hands, but by those whose fate had been seized for so long."

What he said next shook the hearts of everyone here: "These realms are forbidden for those whose powers exceed the boundary of an average ninth-dimensional entity. With that rule in place, call all of your armies and try to seize these Realms. I shall dwell in its center, and anyone waiting for the victor of this war."
