Because everyone clearly understood that His Imperial Majesty was in this city, standing shoulder to shoulder with them.
As long as His Imperial Majesty's war banner was still flying, they would press forward with courage, not retreating an inch.
Seeing everything proceeding tensely but orderly under Leo Ray's command, both Konet and Shuert couldn't help but feel heartfelt admiration.
Although the strength of the Human soldiers was somewhat limited, with the vast majority only at Tier 2, each one was well-trained, and their morale was extremely high. Even facing the possible destruction of everything, they remained unafraid.
As generals of their respective forces, Konet and Shuert clearly understood that this was indeed a rare accomplishment, quite different from the once disorganized Human World.
While sighing in their hearts, their respectful gazes fell upon Leo Ray.
It must be said, this young Emperor of the Human Race from the Otherworld was indeed extraordinary. It was precisely because of his presence that the Human soldiers were able to push forward relentlessly, even if the path ahead was filled with thorns and a sea of fire.
"Your Majesty, we are about to begin the transport!"
As Konet and Shuert were feeling emotional, Elder Bing, who had his eyes previously shut, suddenly opened them and nodded to Leo Ray.
With Elder Bing's aged yet deep voice, all the magic screens observing outside the city became familiar shades of blue, enveloping even the generals on the city wall—signaling the teleportation of Ice Stone City.
Once everything became clear again, the group noticed through the magic screens that their surroundings had changed once more; they were now surrounded by dense, towering peaks, clearly having arrived in the heart of the Peak Forest Mystery.
"Lord, there's a village over there!"
With sharp eyes, Scarlett immediately pointed at a magic screen, quickly moving closer to Leo Ray.
Looking in the direction she pointed, Leo Ray saw the shadow of fences in a nearby forest.
"According to information provided by the administrators, Dwarf Elves, and Treants, Wood Elves are small in stature. Female Wood Elves typically reach just to a Human's knee, while male Wood Elves only reach the thigh, even shorter than the Dwarf Elves."
"Just like the fairy form Little Illusion favors, the Wood Elves are naturally born with two pairs of butterfly-like transparent wings. They generally reside in treehouses formed as villages or towns, existing in a transition between tribal and feudal eras, leading relatively primitive lives, stronger than Treants but not matching the Humans and Dwarf Elves."
"Yet their long lifespan and innate magic affinity make the strength of the Wood Elves formidable. They are naturally born Human genius mages, effortlessly mastering advanced techniques that seasoned Human mages grasp only with difficulty, and they possess an astonishing reservoir of mana, markedly higher than their Human counterparts of the same tier."
"Thus, although Wood Elves may appear frail with simple lives, their actual power is indeed terrifying. Their understanding and control of magic is extraordinary, with many among them revered as Sage-level magic masters."
"Of course, like Treants, Wood Elves specialize in Plant Magic, with only a few adept at Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind Nature Series Magic. Their natural aversion to flames makes them vulnerable to the Red Dragon's absolute dominance, leading to inevitable defeat."
Reflecting on these thoughts, Leo Ray nodded towards the group and commanded, "There's no time to waste. Let's head out and see. Hopefully, we can quickly uncover the cause of the trouble here and work to restore normalcy."
Upon receiving Leo Ray's orders, our prepared fighters immediately clasped their chests in salute. Konet and Shuert also stepped forward, evidently ready to set off.
Next, after indicating to Elder Bing, Qiana, Frost, and other Human commanders to remain in Ice Stone City, Leo Ray led the other strong members of our force, along with Konet and Shuert, racing towards the Wood Elf village.
Upon stepping out of Ice Stone City's gate, they were met with fierce Spatial Energy winds, nearly unbalancing Leo Ray and almost sweeping away the barely activated Energy Barrier of Scarlett, Serena Clark, Stella Clark, and the Tier 5 First Star subordinates, along with the unprepared Konet.
Fortunately, Jasper Richardson wielded his Magic Wand to quickly establish a special Spatial Stability Barrier, restoring normalcy to our group.
After regaining his footing, Leo Ray looked around. Compared to the space-distorted scenes outside, the interior of the Peak Forest Mystery was visibly more stable.
Excluding the unusual spatial energy fluctuations, one could only notice the faint distortions in the surroundings upon close inspection.
"Ahead is the residence of the Wood Elves. If we can find one or two of them, we might uncover what happened here."
Leo Ray did not hesitate, taking the lead in continuing their rapid advance.
While moving forward, Leo Ray noted.
He was not on level ground, but atop a pinnacle-shaped peak, like standing at treetop level among countless giant trees in a forest.
Though from afar, each peak comprising the forest seemed limited in area, standing on it revealed a surprisingly spacious expanse, sufficient to support Ice Stone City and a Wood Elf village beyond.
In a blink, the group arrived before the Wood Elf village.
Everything appeared as Leo Ray had heard—remarkably simple.
Each sky-reaching tree housed a carefully crafted circular wooden home, some hollowed out from sturdy trunks and fitted with exquisite wooden doors, each dwelling adorned with leaves and flowers, vibrant and full of natural beauty.
Surrounding the village, simple fences enclosed scattered orchards and fields, with nothing else noteworthy.
"Aside from the architecture, this place is just like a Human village!"
Louise, cautiously clutching Leo Ray's sleeve, couldn't help but exclaim.
"You girl, you're at least a half-step Tier 6 expert."
Leo Ray smiled wryly and then advised, "Look closer."
Despite his words, Leo Ray clearly understood that not only Louise but also the surrounding experts were in a state of heightened alert, not daring to let their guard down for a moment. This seemingly tranquil environment could very well be the calm before a storm.
Moreover, there wasn't a soul in sight in the entire Wood Elf village, a deathly silence reigning, eerie in its completeness.
Prompted by Leo Ray, Louise focused her gaze and finally noticed.
The seemingly ordinary wooden houses bore intricate reinforcement magic patterns, even the surrounding fences did as well, along with various treehouse-style Magic Towers scattered throughout the village.
This revealed that although the place seemed ordinary, its defensive measures were exceedingly thorough.
"With these fences as boundaries, an Absolute Defense Barrier was recently deployed, yet now it has vanished into thin air."
Shuert inspected the fences for a moment, his old face grave, "It seems the sudden spatial disruption caused this original barrier to fail."
"Just as well, with nothing blocking us, let's head inside and take a look."
Leo Ray gestured for the group to follow as he set foot inside the village.
Responding to his command, the group gripped their weapons and ventured into the empty Wood Elf village.
However, just as they began their investigation, an unexpected event abruptly occurred.
