Chapter 1364: Naive

As the horrifying viruses spread in every direction, a series of symptoms broke out in the two men who had gained the upper hand so far, Grey and Gavin.

But even more terrifying was that they did not even know what was happening, what was causing the severe coughs and pain! There was nothing in the battle log, but the damage and pain were very real. They could clearly feel their health and stamina seeping out of them, like hot water which seeped through the cracks in a cold glass little by little.

Seeing Grey covering his mouth while coughing blood, Sheyan shrugged and even had time to spread his arms apologetically before smashing Grey with a punch!

A moment earlier, Grey would have had at least seven ways to deal with this punch, but right now, he could not even perform one of them. The only thing he could do was to harden his muscles and endure the hit!

After taking Sheyan’s punch, the entire left side of Grey’s face immediately swelled up, and several broken teeth flew out of his mouth. His whole body flipped back like he was performing a somersault before he hit the ground heavily. Blood overflowed out of his mouth and seeped into the thirsty soil, which greedily absorbed the viscous liquid rich with nutrients. A large dark brown patch spread beneath him.

Gavin was originally charging forward for a well-calculated pincer attack with Grey, but the SARS virus had already started multiplying rapidly in his body. After an involuntary sneeze, the attack was no longer anywhere close to being “well-calculated”. He looked as if he was sending his face right towards Sheyan’s fist.

So there was another dull thud of fist connecting with flesh.

Gavin immediately followed in Grey’s footsteps. His hair was caught by Sheyan, and his abdomen took Sheyan’s knee. He took a few unsteady steps back in pain. He turned out to be quite weak in close combat. Next, Sheyan grabbed his throat with one hand, lifted him up, and slammed him into a rock protruding from the ground WWE style! Gavin instantly let out a wail of agony. He grabbed his waist and rolled around on the ground in pain.

Grey, of course, could not just sit back and watch his ally being mercilessly abused like this. He charged at Sheyan, ignoring his pain, and whipped Sheyan’s back again. The attack this time was vicious; it carved away a strip of flesh and skin at least a metre long from Sheyan’s back. The wound was deadly pale, and it was emitting smoke that smelled horrible!

But before Grey could retract the whip, it was already grabbed by Sheyan. Then, Sheyan charged at him like a raging bull. The blood-red longsword in his hand pierced through Grey’s heart as quick as lightning!

The usefulness of SARS was evident in times like this. If Sheyan were to meet someone with extremely skillful combat techniques who could put him in a situation where he could only defend passively without any chance to fight back, the powerful SARS would level the playing field.

After that, the enemy may still be able to attack Sheyan, but they would also have to face Sheyan’s ferocious counterattack afterwards, which means both sides had to trade blows. However, in terms of defence and survivability, Sheyan was a freak even among MTs. In terms of offence, Sheyan had a legendary equipment like G-spot that could transform into various bizarre weapons at a moment’s notice! The outcome of trading blows with Sheyan was obvious!

Sheyan yanked Apophis out, but blood did not splash everywhere as he had imagined. The sword had only left a seemingly insignificant wound on Grey’s body. Apophis, however, was glowing such a bright crimson that it looked as though the blood of the enemy had been absorbed into the sword.

When Sheyan pulled the sword out, Grey immediately felt as if his spirit and soul were all pouring out of the wound like a hundred rivers flowing back into the sea. He never thought that he could ever feel so weak and helpless!

The feeling was like the weakness when one had not eaten for seven days straight, and like the emptiness when a man had just ejaculated. The feeling of weakness almost made him fall to the ground. Even breathing had become a heavy burden for him.

This was why Evil Sword Apophis was so powerful. The horrible ‘Extinction’ ability had destroyed the digitalised characteristic at the spot where Grey was wounded. Sheyan kicked Grey on the chin, causing him to flip backwards with a difficult somersault sequence. Grey’s jaw bone broke into several pieces, and even the tip of his tongue was accidentally bitten off. Blood gushed through the air.

“AAAARRGGHH!! GO TO HELL!!” Gavin had recovered a little after catching a momentary breath. Witnessing his companion being tortured, he was so furious that fire was almost spitting out of his eyes. In his hands were two Uzi submachine guns that were glowing silver. Gavin aimed at Sheyan and pulled both triggers.

The Uzi submachine guns were only 40 cm long at most, but the tongues of flame which shot out of their muzzles reached the astonishing length of half a metre. The theoretical firing speed of these guns was 1500 rounds per minute, so the shells were being ejected from their rears in a frenzy. The shells actually hurt when they hit the face, and the hot touch carried an intense smell of smoke.

However, Gavin was shocked at that moment, because he saw the man in front of him burying his head low and charging forward while withstanding the hail of bullets from two Uzi submachine guns! Some of the bullets that hit him were bounced away, while some penetrated into his flesh and fell off carrying blood on them. The guy looked like a metallic monster wrapped in human skin!

Sheyan did not do too much after he reached Gavin. A flash of blood-red, and Gavin’s left hand flew away. The hand was still holding on tightly to the Uzi submachine gun, and its finger was still pulling the trigger. There was fire all over the place, and the bullets flew in chaos.

Then, with a growl, Sheyan grabbed Gavin by the neck and hurled him at a nearby rock!! The rock broke in an instant, and at the same time, so did poor Gavin’s spine.

The fight was basically settled after that. The two men had very tight lips, but Sheyan believed that he could probably pry something out of them if he was willing to spend the time and effort. However, the last thing Sheyan wanted to do now was to waste time, so without a word, he grabbed their hair and slit their throats one after another like he was butchering chickens!

The two men provided Sheyan with eight achievement points as well as a silver storyline weapon: the Uzi submachine gun, and a pair of ordinary silver storyline boots. It was a pity that the best item did not drop. In order to comfort himself, Sheyan could only tell himself that his luck was being saved up for next time.

Sheyan took a short rest to bandage his wounds. He found that the spots hit by the damn bone whip were obviously healing very slowly, and they were also emitting a rotten smell which should not exist on living humans. Moreover, this strange power was not under the scope of what the ‘Stairway of the Sun’ could deal with. Sheyan speculated that it should be something akin to cadaveric poison, like those in horror movies. Fortunately, with the backing of his strong Physique, the wounds were still tenaciously healing.

“You think I can’t get any information out of you if you don’t tell me anything?” Sheyan stared at the two corpses in front of him with a smirk. “Naive!”

“Less than ten minutes had passed from the moment of explosion to the moment I landed. The fact that you guys managed to rush here in such a short period of time proves one thing – your hiding spot is somewhere high up that took little to no impact from the explosion, so you could monitor every move from that place. ”

“I clearly remember that the ancient Protoss city did not have a spot like that at all. In that case, the answer is obvious. You guys were on a flying machine, and it was a flying machine that can turn invisible. In the Starcraft universe, there is a common vehicle that meets this requirement, and that’s the Terran’s Wraith!”

After coming to that conclusion, Sheyan kept analysing:

“Six escape capsules were ejected, so why was I the first one you guys look for? The answer is actually pretty simple. It’s because the other five escape capsules were probably ejected in the same direction, so they landed close together. Meanwhile, I was by myself and was hit by the explosion shock wave head on, so my escape capsule naturally became your first target!”

“Hmm, if I were you guys, what would I do next? If the people I sent out don’t come back, there are two likely explanations for that. Either they had died in an accident, or they had found something really valuable, so they had no intention of coming back. Since you sent those people to come look for treasures among the scraps, you should be pretty confident that there won’t be any accidents. ”

“In that case, based on the theory that human nature is evil, you will definitely be more inclined to believe in the second explanation… Therefore, your response should be to send a group of people who are good at tracking and has high mobility to hunt down the traitors… That means dividing your troops. Hey, that’s a great chance for me.”

After analysing the situation in his mind, Sheyan felt that he had grasped the crux of the matter, so after cleaning up the crime scene a little, he went in the direction Gavin and Grey came from.

After moving for less than two kilometers, Sheyan, thanks to his ultra-high Perceptive Sense and ample preparation work, encountered a group of contestants who were moving forward in a hurry. It appeared that Sheyan’s deduction was spot on.
