Cultivating Through The Game

Chapter 228: Return to One

"Where... am I?"

Lu Yu looked around in confusion, surrounded by an endless stretch of water, calm and without a ripple. As he moved across the surface, he did not create even the slightest ripple.

It was as if he couldn't touch the water at all, or perhaps it wasn't water, but merely a mirror.

Suddenly, Lu Yu saw ripples forming in the water not far away, with something rising from below.

The ripples told Lu Yu that something was surfacing there, but he could neither see nor sense it.

After hesitating for a moment, he walked over and reached out to touch where the ripples extended.

The moment he touched it, it was as if a giant Ivan had been dropped into his mind, instantly exploding, leaving his mind blank.

Immediately afterward, a vast amount of invisible substance surged into his body. He could feel his body rapidly becoming resilient.

To say it was his body is inaccurate—it should be his soul.

This was the space inside Lu Yu's mind, and what appeared here was his own soul.

When he regained consciousness, Lu Yu understood what the invisible object rising from the water was: it was the soul that belonged to him after he destroyed his "game body."

Only by retrieving all those pieces of his soul would he be complete; Lu Yu realized this point.

When he became aware of this, numerous ripples emerged on the water, with the center of each ripple being a part of his missing soul.

Lu Yu ran across the water, collecting each lost piece of soul. With every piece he retrieved, he could feel a change in his soul body.

He didn't know what he would become once he recovered all the fragments of his soul, but his intuition told him these things couldn't be left behind.

He didn't know how much time had passed before the water returned to its calm state, with no more soul fragments surfacing.

Lu Yu floated in mid-air, curling up into a ball, as a luminous white light enveloped his soul body.

Upon opening his eyes again, Lu Yu found himself back in his body, in front of the bamboo grove cabin he had destroyed.

Carefully feeling through his body, there seemed to be no changes, and Lu Yu couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

Then he considered that a potential major crisis had been resolved, and his mood lifted considerably.

If he hadn't dealt with the "game body" today, it might have left a knot in his heart in the future.

Now he felt a sense of ease.

Looking at the ruined cabin in front of him, Lu Yu swept his hand sideways, spiritual power surged out, clearing all the ruins from the ground, leaving behind a clear open space.

"Hmm?" Lu Yu looked at the open ground in front of him, a thoughtful expression crossing his face as the spiritual power manifested in his hand.

His left hand held ice-blue spiritual power, and his right hand held red hot spiritual power. Under Lu Yu's control, the two spiritual powers assumed various forms at will.

Suddenly, the two threads of spiritual power flew out and collided in front of Lu Yu, causing a surprising event.

The two powers, which should have exploded upon contact, instead transformed into each other upon impact; the ice power became fire power, and the fire power became ice power, separating to either side once more.

Lu Yu's left hand flicked, turning the fire power into ice power, and with a clench, turning the ice power into fire power and then into Celestial Falling Bright Flame... an unimaginably precise control ability.

"Absolute control over one's own power—is this the benefit obtained after the soul has been unified?" Lu Yu pondered.

When he was clearing the trash from the ground earlier, he used spiritual power to sweep everything away. Doing so in the past was akin to using a broom to sweep away everything.

While that method achieved the goal, it would undoubtedly cause additional impact, leaving marks on the ground.

But as he had just swept, he left behind none of the traces he didn't want, as though the spiritual power had turned into countless tiny figures individually removing the unwanted items.

And not a single thing was taken that he didn't want to move.

This is the absolute control over power, the ability to exercise fine control to the extreme over his powers.

As he leveled the ground and rebuilt the house, the sky had darkened, illuminated red by the blaze.

The Divine Weapon Pavilion Secret Realm has no night.

Lu Yu clapped his hands and walked into the newly rebuilt house. Matters here were completely resolved, and potential aftermaths were removed. It was time to concentrate his efforts on seeking the land of ice and fire poles.

According to the map guidance from the immortal, Lu Yu saw the positions of Triple Peaks, Cloud Peak Celestial Lake, and the Land of the Sun.

However, his position and direction were information based on Sanshi Village, so to find the locations of these three places again, he needed to know in which direction An Nan City was relative to Sanshi Village.

He needed a map of the area around An Nan City, clearly marking Sanshi Village.

If he could obtain a map of a larger region, he might even roughly delineate the locations of the three places on the map.

Additionally, today two disciples from the Divine Weapon Pavilion visited, intending to invite him to form a team, seemingly due to a "southern invasion."

Going by the literal meaning, it suggested that southern barbarians were launching an attack on An Nan City, though it might mean something else entirely.

Lu Yu headed towards Southern Heaven Hall in Heaven-Breaking City, where there were over a hundred sub-halls, each specializing in different functions, and one such hall in Southern Heaven Hall was dedicated to trading items.

The Divine Weapon Pavilion stretches across the Great Zhou Dynasty from east to west and north to south, existing since the founding of the dynasty until now, and the treasures it holds are innumerable. Disciples of the Divine Weapon Pavilion can exchange these for Contribution Points,
