"Why is it taking so much time?" Ruby asked in worry.
"Don't worry. It's been just two days. I took a week to awaken." Luke said.
"What!? Then you've been in the tower all this time while we were busy collecting points?" Shane exclaimed. He said with a trace of dissatisfaction in his tone.
"It's not like I stayed willingly. Also, if I hadn't awakened and got the ring of teleportation in time, you all would have been killed by the beast." Luke said, defending himself.
"Ahm!...Noah's really taking a lot of time. I hope everything's alright." Shane cleared his throat, evading from the discussion.
Luke shook his head as he chuckled. Not charging at Shane again. Silence spread among them, worry was visible on all three of their faces. But being helpless, they kept waiting.
ROARR!!!!
They were jolted awake. They stood up from their seats hearing the loud roar.
Ruby and Shane were perturbed, but a wide smile spread on Luke's face. He was assured that Noah had awakened successfully.
****
Stormbreaker waited in front of the pool of awakening. He kept gazing at the calm and undisturbed core blood inside the pool. Noah's awakening held a great significance for him as well as the dragon race.
Stormbreaker had lost a dear friend of his in the war. He was the last earth dragon, who had died protecting him and giving his life up for the dragon race. Noah's awakening meant revival of the earth dragons again.
He was hoping nothing goes wrong, and keeping a constant eye on Noah's condition. Ready to intervene any moment.
ROOARRR!
Stormbreaker's eyes opened wide. Ripples spread in the blood inside the pool. A dragon pressure fell upon the room.
Stormbreaker sighed in relief, his lips lifted up into a wide smile.
A huge pillar of blood erupted from the pool as Noah jumped out. He landed softly in front of Stormbreaker.
His whole body was covered in a dark green armor made of dragon scales. His nails had gotten long like a sharp dagger. Two curved horns jutted out from his temples and his eyes were now dark green with the vertically slit pupils. Even his hair had grown long and dark green, taking the color of the earth dragon.
"Hahaha! Congratulations on your awakening child. And also...thank you for awakening, and letting me witness the rise of the Earth dragons again." Stormbreaker held Noah's arms, his voice shaky from emotion, as a drop of tear trickled down the corner of his eyes.
Noah was surprised seeing Stormbreaker like this. It was the first time he was witnessing such emotions from him.
"A-Are you alright senior?"
"Huh!? Oh!...it's nothing, just some old memories resurfaced again. Nothing else." Stormbreaker said, looking at Noah with a wide smile.
"Thank you for giving me this opportunity senior." Noah bowed in respect as he thanked Stormbreaker.
"I am just an observer child. Nothing else. I see you've even improved your cultivation" Stormbreaker smiled at him.
"Yes senior. I'm a fifth circle fighter mage now." Noah said excitedly.
"You're a fifth circle dragon mage now." Stormbreaker said with a smile, correcting Noah. "Come. Your friends had been worried for you."
"Let me wear some clothes first senior." Noah then moved beside the pool and picked up his folded clothes and wore them.
After he was ready. Stormbreaker waved his hand and the door appeared. They passed through it and appeared beside Luke and the others again.
"Congrats Noah. You're a dragon now too." Luke said with a smile.
Shane excitedly hugged him again. he started touching his scaled armor and when he was about to touch his horns, Noah's hand flashed and held Shane's arm, stopping him from moving his hand forward.
"What's the matter?" Shane asked confused.
"I-I don't know. I just reflexively stopped you. I-I feel kind of…insulted about you trying to touch my horns." Noah said uncertainly, even he wasn't sure why he did that.
"A dragon's horns are his pride. The dragon blood inside you can never let its pride get hurt." Stormbreaker said. He then turned towards Shane. "Don't do this mistake again child. It would be an insult for the dragon if you touch their horns without permission." He calmy explained with a warm smile.
"I understand. I apologize senior." Shane bowed towards Stormbreaker, accepting his mistake. He then looked at Noah and apologized to him genuinely. "Sorry man Noah! I didn't know."
"It's alright man." Noah nodded at Shane. His gaze then fell on Ruby. She stood frozen in her spot, her cheeks were bright red and her eyes were wide open, sparkling, with her gaze fixed on Noah's face.
"You…alright Ruby?" Noah asked, confused.
"What? Ah…y-yes, I'm a-alright. C-C-Congratulations on your awakening Noah!" Ruby said with a smile, stuttering away in shyness.
She turned her head away immediately and saw Luke grinning at her with his brows creased up, a teasing smile plastered on his face.
"Thank you Ruby."
"Feed the blood armament with a drop of your blood. They will adapt and transform into your own dragon blood armaments." Stormbreaker said.
"Alright senior." Noah nodded in response
Mana collected on his index finger and morphed into a pointy needle. He pricked his left index finger and squeezed a drop of blood out, which after falling on the ring on his index finger, immediately disappeared, being absorbed by the metal ring.
The ring started heating up as cracks spread all over the metal surface of the ring and morphed into Dark green scales with a roaring dragon head on top like a gem.
Noah channeled mana into the ring when his new hammer and shield appeared. The shield had now a green sheen on it. Two horns were now present at the top edges and the pointy bottom was like the tail of a dragon.
His hammer had become thicker at the middle and tapered towards the end. The end of his long shaft now held a curved small blade, like a dragon's claw.
"Amazing!" Noah gasped in surprise. His blood armaments had now transformed into his own dragon blood armament. Even the mana he was releasing now, had a dark green sheen to it. It was murky, life flowing water.
"How do I revert back to my human form senior?" Noah asked.
"Will it in your mind." Stormbreaker said with a smile.
Noah nodded and closed his eyes. The horns started retracting back inside, the scale armor moved back inside his body and his vertically slit pupils changed back. But the color of his eyes and hair stayed and didn't change back.
"Can I aske a question senior?" Shane asked.
"Yes child?"
"If Noah's an earth dragon. Luke is…what are you?" Shane turned towards Luke and asked.
"I don't know, probably a primordial dragon." Luke shrugged his shoulders, unsure about it since even the senior couldn't make it out.
"What dragon are you then senior?" Shane asked. Luke and the others ears also perked up. Even they were curious about it.
Stormbreaker smiled at the question. "I'm a Golden dragon. We were the healers of the dragon race."
All four of them nodded in understanding. Since he had healed both Luke and Noah effortlessly.
Healing outer wounds and healing internal injuries were far different. The later was many a times harder than healing just outer wounds.
"You're amazing senior! That means the golden dragons were the lifeline of the dragon race." Shane said excitedly.
Stormbreaker smiled softly. But deep regret and sadness flashed by his face. Luke and the others were confused at his reaction. But no one wanted to ask him, since he may have some unhealable wound and deep regret that was not easy for him to share.
"It's a blessing, as well as a curse." Stormbreaker said, releasing a deep sigh.
"We would heal the others and save their lives. But in a war, we were useless in the frontlines." Stormbreaker then looked towards Noah. "My best friend, my brother, he was the last earth dragon, who died protecting me. I still remember his smiling face before taking his last breath."
The mood instantly dampened as Stormbreaker continued. "I regret being a golden dragon to this day. If I had fighting prowess, I could have saved my friend and protected the lineage of the earth dragons."
"But today, you have fulfilled a long dream of mine Noah. The earth dragons will walk the earth again. My friend would be smiling seeing this from the eternal lands of the dragons." He said with a warm smile.
"I hope I can become half a warrior as the earth dragon senior had been." Noah said humbly.
"You will even surpass him child. I know it." Stormbreaker said.
Silence spread among them. No one was saying anything. They could feel the pain and regret Stormbreaker carried with him all these years.
"Alright! Enough with this. Come on now. Let's awaken the dragon mana of the two of yours." Stormbreaker broke the silence as he looked at Shane and Ruby.
"I don't want the dragon mana senior." Ruby said.
All four of them including Stormbreaker were shocked.
