The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 170: The Vast Sleeve Universe (Vote for Monthly Ticket)

One month later, the Mysterious Light Mirror crafted by Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad was ready.

Sun Wukong took the main mirror and gave the secondary mirrors to Ao Luan to distribute.

The next day, Sun Wukong chanted a spell and shone the Mysterious Light Mirror into the distance.

"Emperor Donghua."

He said, and immediately the face of Emperor Donghua appeared in the mirror.

Emperor Donghua looked back perplexed.

"It's nothing, Emperor, I'm just testing the mirror."

Sun Wukong smiled at Emperor Donghua in the Mysterious Light Mirror and then put away the spell.

He played with the mirror for a while, then suddenly remembered that someone was due to arrive at Wanling City today.

"Great Emperor."

Sun Wukong once again saw the True Martial Great Emperor through the Mysterious Light Mirror.

"What instructions does the Great Saint have?"

The True Martial Great Emperor asked.

"Have the people from the Guan River Mouth arrived?"

Sun Wukong inquired.

"They are still on their way."

The True Martial Great Emperor replied: "However, a group of Demons are about to arrive."

"Demons?"

Sun Wukong showed a puzzled look.

The True Martial Great Emperor turned the mirror toward the sky, reflecting a dark cloud flying in from the horizon.

"Those are the small Demons recently subdued by Peng Demon King."

The True Martial Great Emperor explained: "There are in total forty thousand, and to avoid causing panic in the countries along the way, Peng Demon King used a spell to bring them here."

Sun Wukong watched the vast black cloud; though it was far away, the mirror still revealed a strong sense of vile energy.

This Mysterious Light Mirror actually also had some effects of the Demon Mirror.

"Great Saint, forgive my frankness."

The True Martial Great Emperor said: "Although Peng Demon King has subdued these Demons, they are fierce and probably will not remain quiet."

Sun Wukong nodded.

He too saw the murderous aura; it seemed that the Demons had not been subdued for long and had not fully submitted.

"Peng Demon King lacks authority."

The True Martial Great Emperor stated: "We will need to demonstrate our power to them once more."

Sun Wukong stood up: "Leave it to me."

He left Wanling Hall.

Outside Wanling City, the True Martial Great Emperor put down the Mysterious Light Mirror and turned to look beside him.

Unbeknownst to him, Water Moon Fairy had appeared there.

"Fairy, are you also concerned about those Demons?"

The True Martial Great Emperor asked.

Water Moon Fairy nodded; with such a huge demonic presence, she was naturally worried.

The Demons, uneducated, violent, and cruel, were certainly not few in number.

Though it seemed there were no particularly powerful Demons, their large numbers could easily cause problems if they all flooded into the city at once.

Water Moon Fairy had developed feelings for Wanling City and inevitably felt some concern.

However, she was not in a hurry anymore and decided to see how Sun Wukong would handle it.

The black cloud gradually approached Wanling City.

The massive crowd of Demons looked towards the majestic and spectacular City, their eyes gleaming.

"Is that Wanling City? It's really beautiful!"

"Peng Demon King, is that our new territory?"

A Demon inquired: "Why do I smell humans there?"

"I've said several times, there are humans there."

Peng Demon King frowned and said: "Don't blame me for not reminding you; no one is allowed to harm humans!"

"Oh."

While the Demons outwardly complied, inwardly they harbored other thoughts.

Such a large city—if they ate a few humans and dealt with it secretly, it would be impossible to be discovered.

As they thought this, suddenly, the entire sky roiled with wind and clouds, darkening.

"What's going on?"

The Demons felt something was amiss and all stopped in their tracks.

"Over here."

A laughing voice came from the ground.

Before the Demons could see who was speaking, suddenly a powerful suction emanated from the ground, and a spiral whirlwind swept through the sky as if in an hourglass, drawing the Demons downward.

The lesser Demons, like ants, were utterly powerless to resist.

Even the more formidable Great Demons panicked trying to flee, only managing to struggle for two more seconds before their bodies plunged towards the ground as though bereft of buoyancy.

They plopped down on the ground but were all stunned.

"Eh? Why doesn't it hurt?"

"Where is this?"

The Demons struggled to their feet and looked around curiously.

"This is the palm of my hand."

The voice sounded once again.

The Demons turned towards the source of the voice and the sight before them nearly scared them witless.

A pair of colossal golden eyes watched them from the sky, countless times bigger than their own bodies.

That was Sun Wukong.

However, Sun Wukong's body hadn't grown; he had simply shrunk the Demons.

Sun Wukong looked at the tens of thousands of Demons on his palm and said: "I am the Great King of Wanling City, here nobody can escape my grasp. Behave and work well, and naturally, you will be under my protection, but eating humans is strictly forbidden."

The Demons all knelt down in unison.

"We won't eat humans, won't eat humans!"

Good heavens, this Great King is terrifying, catching tens of thousands in one swoop!

The Demons had just arrived and already witnessed Sun Wukong's Divine Skills; they dared not even think about eating humans anymore.

After warning them a few more times and truly frightening them, Sun Wukong let them go.

He blew on his palm, and all the Demons flew out, growing rapidly as they soared through the air and densely fell before the True Martial Great Emperor.

"Great Emperor, I'll leave the rest to you," Sun Wukong said as he turned and left.

The True Martial Great Emperor watched his receding figure.

"The Great Saint's Divine Skills have become even more formidable," he exclaimed.

"...Sleeve Universe is vast, the day and moon endure long within the pot," Water Moon Fairy suddenly revealed a smile: "What a great spell."

It seemed she had realized something and left with a smile.

The Demons lay on the ground, still in shock.

"Goodness," one Demon exclaimed: "I had heard of the Great Saint's name before, but never imagined he was so terrifying!"

"Yes, yes!"

The other Demons came to their senses, their eyes shimmering with delight and awe.

With such a powerful Great King, no wonder he could become the Heavenly Venerate of the Western Continent.

From now on, they no longer had to worry about being driven away by Taoists.
