The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 115: Vast Divine Skills

Lingshan, a massive Barrier shrouded it.

The Barrier was golden in color, with countless lotus shadows flickering.

"This is the Buddha's Golden Light Shield."

Emperor Qinghua glanced several times and said, "We probably can't get into Lingshan without breaking it."

Tens of thousands of Heavenly Soldiers and Generals had already charged over, but once they touched the light shield, it was like they had entered water, their movements becoming difficult.

After flying only a short distance, they eventually could not hold on any longer and were repelled out.

"Everyone back off!"

Gouchen ordered the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals to retreat behind him.

He drew his Heavy Sword: "I'll break it."

Gouchen swung the Heavy Sword; Sword Qi surged like a falling galaxy, striking the Barrier, causing ripples on its surface.

However, that was all.

"What!"

After Gouchen's strike, the Barrier returned to calmness as if nothing had happened.

"You are not as powerful as you were in battle; how can you break the Buddha's Golden Light Shield?"

Emperor Qinghua said, "I'll help you."

No sooner had he spoken than he threw out the Nine-Colored Lotus. The lotus blossomed in the sky and turned into countless lotuses, pressing down like a mountain.

"Boom!"

The countless lotuses collided with the Barrier, the sound deafening, and the energy wave soaring to the sky.

"That's the spirit!"

Gouchen God laughed heartily as he leaped up and then dove down with fierce momentum.

"Boom boom boom"

The intense impact made the sky surge with Immortal Light, violently turbulent, forcing the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals to retreat dozens of meters.

Faintly, a crack appeared on the surface of the Barrier.

"There's a breach."

Ao Luan saw the crack, a flash of light by his side, and the Moon Wheel shot out.

A "hiss" sound.

The silver-white light tore through the crack; the entire Barrier shook violently and then, like glazed glass, quickly shattered, falling piece by piece.

"The Barrier is broken!"

Emperor Qinghua and Gouchen God ceased their attack.

A swarm of Heavenly Soldiers and Generals rushed in, quickly flooding into Lingshan Fairyland.

This scene, with the masses moving on the Marching Cloud, dazzlingly silver, resembled a great tidal wave covering Lingshan.

As the wave approached, strands of Buddha Light rose from Lingshan, forming a dam blocking the Marching Cloud.

"Your Majesty."

Manjusri Bodhisattva stepped forward and bowed to the Jade Emperor, "All matters can be discussed, why must there be a call to arms?"

The Jade Emperor shook his head and said, "Manjushri, we are here to capture Demons, why do you obstruct?"

He threw the question to Manjusri Bodhisattva.

Manjusri Bodhisattva was stunned; the Jade Emperor did not speak of the disagreement with Buddha, instead claiming they were there to capture Demons, leaving him unsure how to respond.

"Your Majesty."

Manjusri Bodhisattva spoke with difficulty, "That is a Great Monk of the Buddhist order, not a Demon."

The Jade Emperor smiled and said, "If he is not a Demon, then he won't be a threat to the Three Realms?"

Manjusri Bodhisattva could not answer.

How could he answer that? It was a foregone conclusion that the person was a menace to the Three Realms; any answer would immediately be contradicted.

"Since you can't even answer this, don't spout nonsense about a Great Monk!"

The Jade Emperor's voice turned colder: "Or are you saying that the Demon menacing the Three Realms is indeed something your Buddhist order intends to do?"

Manjusri Bodhisattva was immediately startled.

"I wouldn't dare!"

He hastily replied.

"If you wouldn't dare, then step aside and let me meet with Buddha."

The Jade Emperor's presence was commanding.

Sweat trickled from Manjusri Bodhisattva's forehead, "Buddha's actions must have deep meaning, Your Majesty, could you possibly wait a few more days?"

"Wait a few more days, who knows what the Three Realms will turn into."

Gouchen stepped forward and said, "If you are unwilling to make way, let me clear the path."

He held the Heavy Sword, fighting spirit surging, Supreme Immortal Power shining, turning the sky red.

Manjusri Bodhisattva's spirit tensed up immediately.

Conflict was imminent.

"Gouchen, do not lay a hand on Lingshan!"

Suddenly a voice came from the West.

Gouchen turned his head, pupils shrinking.

"Your Majesty."

He saw a golden rainbow arriving from the West, it was Sun Wukong.

"No, that's not Your Majesty."

Emperor Qinghua stepped forward and said.

The Sun Wukong that flew over rapidly was surrounded by an aura of incense, bearing a daunting presence.

He stopped on Lingshan, his eyes ablaze with golden flames as he looked at the immortals with cold indifference.

Gouchen looked at him, his face shifting from shock to anger.

"So it turns out you're the demon..."

The infuriated War God clenched his Heavy Sword, murderous intent welling up in his heart.

"We've been looking for you for a long time."

Ao Luan said, "You finally show up."

She could sense that this was the true form of the demon.

"Gouchen..."

Ao Luan spoke to Gouchen, but before she could finish, Gouchen God charged towards Sun Wukong.

"I'll capture him!"

Gouchen God didn't wait for Sun Wukong's reaction, immediately swinging his Sword to strike, intending to cleave the imposter of the Heavenly Emperor in two!

"Boom!"

Sun Wukong raised his stick to block, the Golden Stick in his hand emitting a blinding brilliance, buzzing loudly.

"Jingu Bang..."

Gouchen God's eyes widened in an instant, and after several exchanges, he realized something was amiss from the clash of sword and stick.

It was indeed a golden stick, but its offensive power and heaviness were far from matching Jingu Bang.

Gouchen God grew even more furious: "You even forged that!"

He exerted all his immortal power, turning the Heavy Sword into a massive mountain, fiercely slashing at Sun Wukong, wishing to grind him to dust.

"Your Majesty's Jingu Bang is not as pathetically weak as yours!"

Gouchen God unleashed one sword strike after another, the Sword Qi swirling fiercely, filling the sky with sword lights.

The celestial immortals and Buddhas hastily dodged.

"Let us step aside for a moment."

Jade Emperor also told Ao Luan: "Let Gouchen handle this."

"No."

Ao Luan's expression was grave.

She didn't dodge; the Moon Wheel revolved around her body, shielding her from the Sword Qi.

"God cannot defeat him!"

Ao Luan said, watching the battlefield.

Jade Emperor was startled, then looked up and realized it was true.

Gouchen God's sword moves were fierce, but Sun Wukong did not back down.

He seemed passive, but the clash of sword and stick was not losing ground, his fighting spirit growing ever stronger.

"I'll lend him a hand!"

Jade Emperor said, and space stirred behind him, summoning thousands of Plain Swords.

"Tribulation Swords!"

Jade Emperor waved his hand, and the Plain Swords cascaded down, shredding the entire starry sky!

However, at that moment, a giant golden hand suddenly stretched out from Lingshan, brushed lightly, and the sky full of Tribulation Swords disappeared.

"What's going on!"

Jade Emperor was greatly shocked.

The giant hand didn't stop, with another flip of the hand like clouds falling from the sky, it enveloped the battlefield, blocking him and Ao Luan outside.

"Buddha."

Jade Emperor's expression darkened: "Are you using such Divine Skills just to protect this demon?"

"I don't have such Divine Skills."

Lingshan, a sigh echoed: "This is the Great Monk's Cultivation Technique."

Jade Emperor and Ao Luan were both shocked.

Who was this Great Monk, and how could he possess such power.

Their hearts sank.

At that moment, the voice of the little Phoenix suddenly reached Ao Luan's ears.

"Ao Luan, quickly take out the Jade Seal."

The little Phoenix's voice was urgent: "His Majesty is calling me, I need its power!"
