The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 130: Going Alone

"Boom."

The clash of two mighty forces was like the collapse of the heavens and the earth, unleashing a surge of energy that swept in all directions, the entire chaos ablaze with brilliance, the Light River roaring.

Inside the Star Palace, the mountains trembled, and birds and beasts fled as the incoming energy filled the sky with its overwhelming aura.

The crowd looked on in shock as the meteor shower in the sky gradually disappeared, revealing a massive disk.

The disk floated amidst the chaos, vast and majestic, like a golden sun, shining radiantly.

"What is that thing?"

An Immortal asked.

"A Bowl."

A disciple of the Buddha said, his voice trembling, "That is the Venerable's companion artifact."

Amidst the chaos, Sun Wukong squinted his eyes, looking at the Bowl with some surprise.

The one he had been fighting with turned out to be a Magic Artifact.

For a moment, he was lost in thought, and the Bowl suddenly shone with brilliance, releasing 108,000 golden rainbows.

Each golden rainbow was a Divine Chain, woven from the Tao of each Star Palace, piercing through the chaos and forming the Heavenly Net, trapping Sun Wukong within.

Sun Wukong swung a fist, transforming into a Golden Dragon, roaring towards the net.

"Hiss hiss"

Countless Divine Chains entangled the Golden Dragon, rapidly dissolving it.

Sun Wukong was taken aback. These chains were terrifying, capable of devouring his immortal power.

He let out a loud shout, his battle intent surging, and shone brightly as if Divine Fire was burning on him.

Sun Wukong, filled with fighting spirit, charged head-on.

"Boom"

His Divine Fist struck the chains, shattering them all around him, his momentum unstoppable, invincible.

Sun Wukong had been fighting for several days, yet he still felt a power within him that he couldn't fully unleash. It had been a long time since he had experienced such a refreshing feeling of combat.

"Let's continue!"

He charged at the Bowl, shattering every chain in his path.

In an instant, golden light surged into the sky amidst the chaos, brilliant and dazzling, leaving the Immortals in the Star Palace mesmerized.

"The Heavenly Emperor's power is truly inexhaustible!"

Heavenly King Li couldn't help but mutter to himself.

Sun Wukong was not some mere Monkey Spirit or Stone Spirit; he was undoubtedly a Battle Spirit.

The Gouchen God looked up at the chaos, watching as Sun Wukong charged towards the source of the Heavenly Net, hammering the chains, producing endless clanging sounds.

However, that Bowl was no ordinary item either. It seemed to have a life of its own, radiating brilliance, constantly emitting endless Divine Chains, persistently entangling Sun Wukong.

"What divine skills does that Bowl possess to serve as the White Robed Venerate's companion artifact?"

The Gouchen God inquired.

"It can encompass the heavens and earth, containing within it the Pure Land and millions of Heavenly Dao."

A disciple of the Buddha replied.

The Bowl was widely known throughout the Star Palaces and the Pure Land.

Whenever the White Robed Venerate saved all beings, he always carried the Bowl. When encountering those difficult to transform, he would open the Bowl, allowing people to experience the Pure Land.

All who had entered the Bowl came out as devoted followers of the White Robed Venerate.

"It is a symbol of the Pure Land, having once saved billions of beings."

The disciples of the Buddha said, sorrowfully.

The Pure Land that had saved billions of beings was now pouring out chains of fire.

*Why is this happening?*

*What on earth is the White Robed Venerate doing?*

The disciples of the Buddha could not comprehend what they were witnessing.

But the Buddha understood.

*"For a single Sun Wukong, what do billions of beings matter?"*

He thought to himself.

The Buddha could sense that the White Robed Venerate wanted to acquire Sun Wukong. If he could obtain him, then a mere Bowl was inconsequential.

Because he had made the same mistake, no one could understand this obsession like the Buddha.

*Good and evil are merely a thought apart.*

In the Mortal World, countless people gazed up at the sky.

The flames of war burned fiercely. The brilliance of the Bowl was dazzling, like a volcano erupting from beyond the heavens, Divine Chains everywhere, and fragments occasionally falling from the sky, causing a series of violent disturbances.

This was the commotion caused by the Immortals resisting the attack.

People trembled, feeling as though the sky might collapse at any moment.

*But why is this happening?*

"Does the Venerable intend to destroy us?"

People were horrified, some crying, some laughing hysterically.

*What exactly is good, and what is evil!*

*Why was the villain they saw now protecting this place?*

No one could discern the answer.

Yet, everyone kept their eyes on the battlefield.

"Kill!"

Sun Wukong and the Bowl battled violently amidst the chaos.

Countless Divine Chains charged at him, exploding into dazzling light around him, war flames engulfing Sun Wukong, divine power burning, flames surging.

Endless bombardments crashed onto Sun Wukong, each collision like a mountain crushing him, and his body felt like it was about to tear.

But he shone with immense radiance, growing stronger with each battle, the power within his body rapidly growing.

Sun Wukong felt himself being tempered by the flames of war, breaking through his limits, the War God Seal within him growing brighter and stronger.

The White Robed Venerate was scheming against him, trying to turn him into a true War God!

*If that's the case...*

Sun Wukong's eyes flashed with light as he looked at the increasingly close Bowl.

The Venerate wanted to turn him into a War God, so he would become the War God and see how that fellow could defeat his will!

"No one can control me!"

Sun Wukong, filled with battle intent, unleashed a tsunami-like force from his fist, a continuous and endless roar echoed, and the Divine Chains ahead exploded into fragments.

Sun Wukong, wrapped in endless golden light, leaped out of the Heavenly Net.

"Jingu Bang!"

The long-awaited Jingu Bang reappeared in his hand, the staff body cast with flames, rapidly lengthening from a few feet long to hundreds of miles in the blink of an eye, like a mighty peak of Hongmeng.

"Rumble"

Sun Wukong struck the Bowl with one blow, causing it to tremble violently and leaving people's ears ringing.

"Crack crack"

Finally, the Bowl couldn't withstand it, showing several cracks, and with a boom, it transformed into golden light and fled into the void.

"Trying to escape!"

Sun Wukong swung another blow, shattering the chaos, space seemingly torn apart, revealing a Light Gate, through which golden light escaped.

"Brahma Void Heavenly Court."

A realization dawned in Sun Wukong's heart.

"It's right on the other side!"

Sun Wukong knew that the Brahma Void Heavenly Court was located where that Light Gate led.

A terrifying aura emanated from the Light Gate, as if an army was approaching from that direction.

Sun Wukong remembered the White Robed Venerate's mention of the one-day limit and understood.

He turned to glance at the Immortals in the Star Palace, made his decision, and shot into the Light Gate like a streak of light.

"I'll buy you some time!"

Sun Wukong's voice echoed within the Star Palace.

The Immortals looked up, watching as a long flame streak flew into the chaos, until it disappeared at the end of the Light Gate.

"Where did the Heavenly Emperor go?"

The Immortals asked in alarm.

"He went to the Brahma Void Heavenly Court."

A voice replied.

The Immortals turned their heads to see the Tathāgata.

"His Majesty has gone to the Brahma Void Heavenly Court alone?"

The Gouchen God appeared flustered. "Has His Majesty gone mad?"

"Perhaps..."

The Buddha said, "But this is his choice; there must be a reason."
