The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 182: Chaos' Conjecture

Virtue Palace, divine light from the Wanling Tree shimmered, exuding supreme majesty.

Suddenly, a tremendous fluctuation descended from the sky, causing the Wanling Tree to shake violently.

The immortals were startled: "Something is coming."

The Thirty-Three Layered Heaven shook in unison, a deadly aura approached rapidly, vast and boundless, oppressive like a massive mountain, leaving no room to breathe.

"It's the undying beings!"

The immortals realized, recognizing the aura of the undying beings.

The undying beings had arrived.

"Just when the Heavenly Emperor had left."

Earth Virtues Star Monarch cursed his luck, hurriedly heading outside the palace.

"Your Majesty!"

Earth Virtues Star Monarch arrived at the Palace of the Polestar, kneeling before the Jade Emperor: "The undying beings are here."

"Don't worry."

The Jade Emperor glanced at him, saying: "Someone noticed them before the Heavenly Palace did, and has already gone to stop them."

Earth Virtues Star Monarch was stunned, stepping out of the Palace of the Polestar, he looked up and indeed noticed an astonishing outbreak of war in the Chaos.

The war flames stretched in a line, like the Blood River, spanning across the Thirty-Three Layered Heaven.

"An unseen light before, who is helping out?"

Earth Virtues Star Monarch was curious.

Not just him, many immortals stood by the Tianhe, all discussing the war fires in the Chaos.

"Who exactly is stopping the undying beings? Truly terrifying!"

"I think only Yuanshi Tianzun could possess such Divine Skills."

"They haven't come out from the Immortal Palace; it cannot be them!"

The immortals discussed animatedly, all unsure of the mysterious person's identity.

Earth Virtues Star Monarch grew even more curious, after waiting a moment, the war fires in the Chaos gradually weakened, and he, along with other immortals, soared upwards, flying beyond the Thirty-Three Layered Heaven.

By the time they arrived, the battle had just ended.

A man, clad in a Dragon Robe, hovered above the Chaos, wielding a long sword, piercing through the forehead of an undying being, turning it back into a bracelet.

"Who is this?"

Earth Virtues Star Monarch still did not recognize him.

But someone did.

"This is Emperor Yao from the Brahma Void Heavenly Court, once a ruler of a Star Domain, his Divine Skills comparable to the Heavenly Emperor."

Some immortals came forward, bowing respectfully: "Thank you, Emperor Yao, for your assistance."

They were not Emperor Yao's subordinates, naturally extending no other title beyond 'immortal'.

Emperor Yao snorted coldly, but did not take offense.

He sheathed his sword, asking: "Where is he?"

"He?"

The immortals were puzzled, then realized, and turned to Earth Virtues Star Monarch.

Earth Virtues Star Monarch frowned: "You mean the Heavenly Emperor? He has gone to the Lower Realm."

"This one is yours to handle."

Emperor Yao tossed the bracelet, transforming it into a blood light that flew towards the Three Realms.

"This immortal is truly arrogant."

Earth Virtues Star Monarch felt uncomfortable.

At this time in the Three Realms, Sun Wukong was observing a shattered mini-world in the Western Continent.

The mini-world was enveloped by a Barrier, containing nothing, where essence, matter, and form fused indistinguishably, appearing turbid and unclear.

"What are you looking at?"

A voice asked.

Sun Wukong turned around to see Emperor Yao.

He was not surprised, simply asking: "How did you leave the Heavenly Court?"

"That little girl asked me to come here."

Emperor Yao replied: "She said this place might need my help more."

"Worrying needlessly."

Sun Wukong shook his head and then sized up Emperor Yao: "That undying being could actually injure you, seems it's no simple creature."

Emperor Yao was secretly shocked.

He had sustained minor internal injuries that were absolutely invisible externally, yet Sun Wukong saw through them at a glance.

"You have grown stronger."

Emperor Yao observed Sun Wukong, feeling that the power within had become even more astonishing than before.

"A truly formidable guy."

Emperor Yao thought to himself, then said: "Don't underestimate the undying beings, they are not so simple."

He had seen truly powerful undying beings, whose Divine Skills matched those of the White Robed Venerate, and they would eventually come seeking Sun Wukong.

"Then I need to speed things up."

Sun Wukong sighed, then turned and reached out, simplifying the Great Method, turning the shattered mini-world into a murky little sphere, grasping it in his palm.

Emperor Yao's pupils contracted, asking: "What are you doing with it?"

"Research."

Sun Wukong played with the small sphere.

Emperor Yao pressed: "What can be researched from it?"

"I don't know, but…"

Sun Wukong looked at the small sphere, saying: "This murky state reminds me of a place."

"Chaos?"

Emperor Yao caught on.

Sun Wukong smiled: "You think so too?"

He tucked the small sphere into his sleeve, saying: "Totem told me, Pangu opened up the heavens and earth, with the light ascending as the heavens and the heavy descending as the earth, thereafter giving rise to all beings.

"He opened the Hongmeng World, after the shattering of Hongmeng, the world became chaotic — could it now be in the state before Pangu opened the heavens and earth?"

Sun Wukong said.

He had always been contemplating these questions, but now it was just speculation.

Emperor Yao watched Sun Wukong for a long time, then suddenly said: "Seems the White Robed did not misjudge."

The White Robed Venerate had also once pondered such questions and even discussed it with him that the answers might uncover why Venerates had gone rogue.

Despite differing ideologies with Sun Wukong, their paths coincidentally converged.

Thinking this, Emperor Yao felt much better.

"Besides that little girl, I also needed to come here myself."

He stood dignifiedly, telling Sun Wukong: "Your Heavenly Dao cannot spread further, it's like a great torch, likely to draw Venerates here sooner."
