My Silly, Sweet Wife

Chapter 364: The Cunning Rabbit Has Three Burrows

Two kilometers away from the chicken farm Ye Guichen and his group had visited earlier, there was a village called Hexia Village.

A river ran in front of the village, and behind it was a dense forest. The forest stretched up to a mountain, and crossing this mountain would lead one out of Yun City's territory.

Ye Guichen followed Ti'er Taoist, sprinting all the way, and after more than forty minutes, they arrived at the entrance of Hexia Village.

In recent years, because farming in the countryside wasn't profitable, most of the villagers had left to work in the city, leaving behind only a few elderly people.

As soon as they reached the entrance, Ye Guichen noticed two high-end SUVs parked outside.

The SUVs didn't have Yun City license plates but ones from Qingzhou instead.

Qingzhou was precisely where the Azure Dragon Commerce headquarters was located.

"Is it really here?" Ye Guichen's eyes lit up, surprised by how smoothly they'd managed to find Wen Daoxian.

"Boss, what should we do next?" Ti'er Taoist glanced at the butterfly hovering overhead, clearly just waiting for Ye Guichen's command for it to fly directly to Wen Daoxian's exact location.

Ye Guichen didn't rush to answer but looked around the vicinity. Seeing two elderly people watching them from the entrance, he walked over and asked, "Grandpa, have any outsiders come here?"

"Huh?" The old man, mouth toothless, put one hand behind his ear as if trying hard to listen, "Are you here to buy a house?"

"No, I'm asking if there are any outsiders here?" Ye Guichen pointed to the two SUVs at the entrance, "Them."

"Oh, cars, nice cars, nice cars," The old man kept nodding.

The other old man kept grinning, his smile was incredibly simple-minded.

Ye Guichen's brow furrowed with frustration.

It turned out this old man had hearing issues and couldn't comprehend his questions.

"Boss, what are you hesitating for? Just go in directly." Ti'er Taoist tried to stifle a laugh, "Besides, Wen Daoxian might be revered by others, but to us he's just a minor figure, no need to be afraid."

Ye Guichen still felt it wouldn't be that straightforward.

The Azure Dragon Commerce was a colossal business organization in the entire Eastern Region, nearly monopolizing half of the area's economy, and its president held a prestigious status.

To be the president's favorite, Wen Daoxian certainly wasn't an ordinary person.

Having kidnapped Su Jiu'er, it was unlikely Wen would leave so many loopholes, making it easy for them to find him.

But, since they've come this far, there's no other choice.

If the opponent hasn't obtained the Seven-colored Lotus Jade, they wouldn't resort to violence.

Ye Guichen nodded, "Alright, you go and confront Wen Daoxian, I'll assist from the shadows."

"Fine!" Ti'er Taoist gestured to the butterfly in mid-air, and it flew rapidly towards the back of the village as if understanding his commands.

Soon, the butterfly hovered in front of a relatively new bungalow.

Ti'er Taoist beckoned the butterfly back, preparing to burst through the door, but the door opened first.

"Master Uncle, why are you here?" The person opening the door was another young Taoist wearing similar robes.

The Taoist stared at Ti'er Taoist in surprise, evidently taken aback.

Ti'er Taoist froze, his expression darkening slightly, "Feng Zhu, what are you doing here?"

Ti'er Taoist was no stranger to the young Taoist in front of him—it was Feng Zhu from the Zhengyi Sect, who had joined the sect around the same time Wen Daoxian left it.

Seeing Ti'er Taoist's displeased face, Feng Zhu quickly bowed his head, not daring to make a sound.

"Hmph, show me inside!" Ti'er Taoist sensed something amiss, pushing Feng Zhu aside to barge in.

But Feng Zhu cried out, "Master Uncle, you can't go in!"

The next second, four or five burly men rushed out from inside.

The men quickly blocked the entrance, glaring at Ti'er Taoist.

"Huh?" Ti'er Taoist frowned at Feng Zhu, "What's going on here?"

"Master Uncle, Uncle Wen told me to stay here, I…I don't know what's happening either," Feng Zhu stuttered nervously.

"Uncle Wen?" Ti'er Taoist grabbed Feng Zhu, "You mean Wen Daoxian?"

"Yes...yes," Feng Zhu replied.

"You've been in contact with him all these years?" Ti'er Taoist's face grew menacing.

Feng Zhu nodded tremblingly, "Yes, every now and then Uncle Wen asks me to help with something. Although he rarely returns to Zhengyi Sect, he's still our senior, and he pays me a lot for each task, so..."

"Damn it!" Ti'er Taoist threw Feng Zhu to the ground and attempted to storm inside.

He understood now why Wen Daoxian was said to be so cunning.

Despite leaving Zhengyi Sect years ago, Wen still maintained connections with its members.

Judging by this, the sect members must have helped him a lot over the years.

Ti'er Taoist began to suspect he might not have been truthful in his boasting.

His butterfly's success in finding this place was likely due to Feng Zhu's involvement.

But the burly men, seeing Ti'er Taoist charge in, immediately engaged him.

They were all skilled fighters, each wielding large machetes, aiming to strike Ti'er Taoist.

"Get lost!" Enraged, Ti'er Taoist swung his horsetail whisk.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The whisk, like a whip, sent three burly men flying.

These men were mere third-rate fighters, utterly no match for Ti'er Taoist.

The remaining men retreated in a panic.

Ti'er Taoist ignored them, stepping into the courtyard.

The courtyard was disheveled. Ti'er Taoist swung his whisk again, wrapping it around one man's arm and pulling him close.

The man was helpless, dragged right up to Ti'er Taoist.

Ti'er Taoist grabbed the man's neck with his other hand, "Is there a girl here?"

"No...no," The man stammered, terrified by Ti'er Taoist's prowess, sensing that a little force could snap his neck.

Without hesitation, the man shook his head vigorously.

Meanwhile, Ye Guichen, hiding in the shadows, realized it was likely a trap.

He flipped over the wall, grabbed another man, and asked, "Is Wen Daoxian here?"

The man froze, shocked by the sudden appearance, and quickly shook his head, "No...no."

"Damn!" Ye Guichen kicked the man away, his face darkening.

Ti'er Taoist's expression was equally grim, shouting at Feng Zhu, "Come here!"

Feng Zhu quickly approached, "Master Uncle, what...what's wrong?"

"When did Wen Daoxian last visit?" Ti'er Taoist demanded.

Feng Zhu, realizing his error, stammered, "Uncle Wen sometimes comes here. He was here last night but left around midnight. We...we don't know where he went."

"Crafty as a fox!" Ye Guichen sighed, "Ti'er, seems like your bluff fell flat."

Ti'er Taoist felt embarrassed, glaring at Feng Zhu, "Get lost back to the sect! Don't come down the mountain for the next ten years, or I'll break your legs!"

Ye Guichen stopped Ti'er Taoist, smiling faintly, "No need to rush. Since we've found this place, finding Wen Daoxian shouldn't be too hard."
