Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 234 Pursuit and Escape

Watching Tong Yaqi rest her chin on one hand, entranced and amazed by his work, Chu Ge couldn't help but feel a deep sense of accomplishment.

Chu Ge was in a great mood, partly because his work was being appreciated, but more importantly, it seemed that from Yaqi's expression, she had gathered from the drink some of the sensations he hoped to convey to her.

Seeing the atmosphere so pleasant, Chu Ge couldn't help but lean towards Yaqi with his signature smile and playfully joked into her ear.

"My beloved concubine, seeing how much this drink suits your taste, why not call me Emperor once again?"

Tong Yaqi shifted her gaze from the "Sea and Sky Line" drink, turned her head to meet Chu Ge's somewhat expectant eyes, curved her lips, and smiled without speaking.

Being looked at by Yaqi like this, Chu Ge truly didn't know what she was thinking. The two stared at each other for a few seconds, and he let out an awkward laugh, thinking that she probably wouldn't say "Emperor" after all. It made sense, as they weren't alone, and if someone overheard, Yaqi might indeed feel embarrassed.

However, just as Chu Ge was pondering this, Tong Yaqi lightly laughed and said, "Emperor, it has been some time since you last had a good talk with me, hasn't it?"

Hearing this, Chu Ge felt both surprised and delighted, but before he could say anything, Yaqi slightly shook her head and said with a smile, "Emperor, let me first savor this 'Sea and Sky Line'. Once I delve into its exquisite taste, we can talk about other things, okay?"

Seeing Tong Yaqi's cheerful demeanor, Chu Ge couldn't help but be amused and nodded.

Leaning on the backrest of the sofa, Chu Ge crossed his legs and his gaze shifted back to Mu Lingshan. He had to admit, a beautiful woman is stunning no matter what she wears.

Today, Mu Lingshan wasn't in her police uniform but was in casual wear: a white shirt with pink shoulders and English letters, paired with a pair of distressed denim shorts, revealing long model-like legs, and chic black leather shoes, instantly transforming from a glamorous police flower into a trendy young woman.

As he continued to watch, Chu Ge suddenly noticed Mu Lingshan's gaze fixed on the man opposite her. Her pupils noticeably contracted, her body instantly tensed, and she stood up from her seat.

Just as Lingshan stood up, that man, whom Chu Ge had been wary of earlier, also stood up and strode towards the exit.

Mu Lingshan pressed her lips together, displaying a conflicted expression, then as if making a significant decision, immediately followed the man.

Watching the two figures one after the other, Chu Ge couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.

Originally, he had been thinking about how he would "report work" to Tong Yaqi later, but given the current situation, it seemed he had to deal with yet another troubling matter first.

Even though Mu Lingshan might have a prejudice against him, they did know each other after all, and he even admired the little policewoman; he just couldn't sit by and do nothing.

"This little policewoman, has she lost her mind? Who gave her the confidence to deal with this?"

Slightly irritated yet amused, Chu Ge murmured to himself, then smiled apologetically at Tong Yaqi, "My dear concubine, I seemed to have spotted an old friend. I'll go over to say hello; excuse me for a moment?"

Tong Yaqi nodded and smiled, "Go ahead, I actually want to slowly savor this 'Sea and Sky Line', but Emperor, don't keep me waiting too long, alright?"

Chu Ge smiled apologetically once more, left his seat, and followed the dangerous man and Mu Lingshan out of the bar.

Watching Mu Lingshan from afar, in his view, apart from feeling a bit irritated and amused, he genuinely admired her dedication. This Tiger Girl truly was devoted to her duty.

Under the night sky, Mu Lingshan kept her gaze fixed on the man about ten meters ahead, wrestling with her inner conflict.

She truly hadn't expected that while she was merely looking to catch a petty thief in the bar, she'd encounter a murderer on the run for years!

Rumor had it that this murderer was extremely ruthless and highly skilled. Honestly, Mu Lingshan wasn't very confident. She didn't blindly underestimate her abilities, nor was she overly optimistic.

Overall, she was clear about her own capabilities. Against ordinary petty criminals, she indeed didn't need to exert much effort, but if she were to face a true expert, her skills were honestly insufficient.

She wanted to call her colleagues immediately but was afraid that the murderer would hear her and be alerted, leading to a failure at the last moment.

And if she increased the distance before making the call, she couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't lose track of the target.

Amidst this dilemma, Mu Lingshan pressed her lips tightly, focused intently on the man's back, maintaining a distance of about ten meters, ready to react accordingly.

As she continued walking, Mu Lingshan gradually felt something was amiss.

The man in her sights seemed to have become aware, quickening his pace considerably and choosing paths with complex terrain, unknowingly widening the distance between them bit by bit.

At this point, Mu Lingshan became even more anxious. She quickly took out her phone and made a call to her colleague.

When the call connected, Mu Lingshan lowered her voice and said "Hello," but there was no response as she had expected from the other end.

Frowning irritably, Mu Lingshan took the phone away from her ear, and as she glanced down, she became even more annoyed. The phone had half its battery just moments ago, and now it inexplicably shut down automatically.

Despite her annoyance, Mu Lingshan knew the situation was critical, and staying on the target was the most important thing. She glanced at her phone only briefly and immediately raised her head again.

Also... she hoped that this supposedly formidable fugitive was not as formidable as rumored. Hopefully, even if she was alone, she could handle it.

The target was still in sight, and she couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, quickly hurrying up to continue the chase.

Meanwhile, Chu Ge, who was trailing behind Mu Lingshan, was quite speechless, thinking that the person Mu Lingshan was tailing was incredibly weak. How had they not shaken off Mu Lingshan after all this time? Didn't they have any counter-surveillance skills?

If Mu Lingshan knew that Chu Ge was eager for her to lose the target, reducing the chance of him exposing himself to zero, she would probably be furious enough to want to kill Chu Ge. Unfortunately, she didn't know.

In Mu Lingshan's mind right now, there was only one thought: to catch the fugitive and never let him escape!

On the other hand, the murderer leading the trio felt disgusted, thinking that the tail behind him, likely an undercover police officer, was incredibly annoying. He had a violent impulse to get rid of that girl.

Of course, he knew how serious his crimes were, and unless absolutely necessary, he didn't want to cause any unnecessary trouble. After estimating the distance between him and the tail, he suddenly started running.

As the murderer began to run, Mu Lingshan inwardly cursed. It seemed the target had indeed spotted her. She didn't even bother to turn her phone back on and gave chase with all her might.

There was no denying that Mu Lingshan had remarkable stamina. Although she never caught up with the target, the target also didn't manage to shake her off.

As they ran on, the murderer became even more disgusted, deciding to run towards a secluded, deserted place. Since this girl dared to chase him, if conditions allowed, he wouldn't mind having another deadly encounter.

In a matter of minutes, the murderer had run into a construction site. During the day, workers were bustling here, but at this moment, it was completely empty, with not a person in sight from afar.

The murderer curled his lips into a cruel sneer, stopped, and turned around slowly, his gaze meeting the fast-approaching Mu Lingshan. He licked his lips with a wicked smile.

"Girl, you're interested in me? Chasing me for so long, want to chat about life?"

Being stared at by the infamous murderer, Mu Lingshan felt a chill inside. She swallowed a breath heavily and shouted sternly, "Cut the crap! I'm a police officer! Don't make unnecessary resistance, raise your hands! I suspect you're involved in a major murder case!"

Shouting this was to bolster her courage, but it seemed to have little effect.

"Police? Damn, I'm so scared!"

Although the murderer said he was scared, his face was full of ridicule, sneering as he stepped closer to Mu Lingshan.

Seeing the opponent inching closer, Mu Lingshan became even more nervous. It felt as if she was not facing a human, but a very dangerous and powerful beast.

That feeling was even more pronounced than when she previously faced the "Third Brother" involved in a kidnapping gang!

Even so, Mu Lingshan still assumed a combat stance, her hands clenching into fists, constantly encouraging herself, telling herself again and again that evil cannot triumph over good!

When there was still four or five meters between the murderer and Mu Lingshan, Mu Lingshan shouted loudly and suddenly charged forward, followed by a hard kick aimed at the murderer's chest.

It's undeniable that Mu Lingshan's moves were quite beautiful, standard, and precise. If the opponent were an ordinary person, this imposing kick might indeed have worked.

Unfortunately, she was up against a vicious, cunning murderer who had escaped the police several times and was skilled in combat.

Facing this kick, the murderer didn't dodge, his mouth curled in disdain. Just as Mu Lingshan's toe was about to hit his chest, he suddenly shifted slightly and reached out, grabbing Mu Lingshan's ankle.

Mu Lingshan felt a sharp pain in her ankle, her pupils contracted, and her vision blurred as she instantly lost her balance, being slammed to the ground.

"Haha! Girl, with such skills, you dared to chase me? You say you're a cop? Went through the back door to become a cop, huh? Hahaha!"

Listening to the murderer's sneer, Mu Lingshan's heart sank. Although she had expected the opponent to be tough, she hadn't imagined his combat skills to be this overwhelmingly strong!
