In Shu Lulu's line of sight, many people appeared whom she had only seen on film and television before. Although these individuals appeared quite casual, the aura surrounding each of them was immense, almost tangible.
At the front of the group was a man with a square face, slicked-back hair, sword-like eyebrows, and bright eyes. With a confident smile at the corner of his mouth, he walked with a commanding presence, his every move exuding a heroic flair.
Shu Lulu blinked hard. Even though she was seeing this man with her own eyes, she couldn't help but doubt herself. Was he really... really the internationally influential "Brother Fa"?
With just the appearance of "Brother Fa," Shu Lulu already felt shockingly dreamlike. Then she was completely stunned.
After "Brother Fa," "Star Lord" appeared, and then more stars with prominent noses and features like "Mr. Chen" and others!
It was only at this point that Shu Lulu finally understood why there were so many security guards at the airport. Obviously, the airport had received prior notice to ensure these mega-stars' safety.
Amid rising shrieks, Shu Lulu's pupils suddenly contracted sharply, because among these celebrities, she unexpectedly saw Chu Ge.
"Oh my God! Am I seeing things? Is that person really the uncle*? Could it be... the signed autographs and little gifts he gave me are all real?"
Thinking of this, Shu Lulu's excitement was indescribable. She loudly shouted "uncle," raised her sign high above her head, and waved frantically toward Chu Ge's direction, trying to run over, but unfortunately, the security maintaining the scene formed a human wall, not allowing her to get close at all.
Shu Lulu saw Chu Ge, and naturally, Chu Ge saw her too. When he saw the sign that read "Welcome Uncle Home," he couldn't help but feel amused and bemused.
That little girl, why isn't she staying home and running here to meet me?
Although he felt a bit speechless, upon discovering Shu Lulu, Chu Ge immediately walked over.
He didn't want Shu Lulu to be pushed by the crowd behind or by the security guards ahead. If any stampede occurred, putting Shu Lulu in any danger, that would be terrible.
He patted a security guard on the shoulder, letting him make a small gap. Chu Ge pulled Shu Lulu into their team composed of stars and celebrities.
"Little girl, why did you come?"
"Of course, I came to meet you, uncle."
Amid a slew of envious looks, Shu Lulu felt like she was dreaming, walking next to Chu Ge, her eyes darting left and right, her excitement was indescribable.
Several stars, upon seeing Chu Ge bring a young girl into the group and noticing the sign saying "Welcome Uncle Home," smiled. When they made eye contact with Shu Lulu, they all nodded kindly.
This made Shu Lulu feel even more delighted. She never expected that, as a recent high school graduate, she would have such a glorious moment, walking with these big-name stars, some of whom even gave her friendly smiles.
"Uncle, are you... are you on a business trip with them?" Despite the evidence before her, Shu Lulu was still uncertain and quietly asked as she walked at the back of the crowd with Chu Ge.
"Yes."
"Then... are the star signatures and little gifts you gave me all real?"
"Yes."
"Oh my God, I'm so happy I might faint!"
Shu Lulu touched her forehead, almost acting as if she would faint. She felt embarrassed as a few stars turned back to look at her, scratched her head sheepishly, and stuck her tongue out at Chu Ge, before returning to her composed self.
Leaving the airport, the stars got onto a bus sent by Tianjiao Group and returned to Papas Hotel to rest.
Somewhat to Chu Ge's surprise, Shu Lulu didn't ask him to help her take a photo with these stars or anything, but instead, she stayed quietly by his side, watching the bus drive away before getting into a taxi with him.
"Lulu, why are you so well-behaved today? You seem like a different person after being away for just two days. Don't you want to spend more time with those stars? Don't you want to take some photos with them?"
Sitting in the car on the way home, Chu Ge and Shu Lulu sat side by side in the back seat. He glanced at Shu Lulu a few times and asked curiously.
"Hehe, I didn't want to trouble you, and besides, no matter how big they are, they have nothing to do with me. In my eyes, uncle, you are a million times better than them."
Chu Ge truly didn't expect Shu Lulu to say that, and he laughed as he ruffled her hair, "You little girl, I haven't seen you in two days, and your mouth has become so sweet! Tell uncle honestly, are you hungry and just waiting for me to go home and cook for you?"
```
*Note: The word "uncle" is used here as a term of endearment or respect, not necessarily indicating a family relation.
Shu Lulu giggled and looped her arm through Chu Ge's, "Uncle, I've always been sweet-tongued, you just never noticed before. Do you want to give it a taste when we get home?"
Just as Shu Lulu finished speaking, the taxi suddenly swerved a couple of times—not because of an obstacle, but because the driver was utterly stunned by her words.
Chu Ge sweat-dropped and flicked Shu Lulu on the forehead. Noticing the taxi driver giving them a peculiar look through the rearview mirror, he cleared his throat twice, prompting the driver to finally shift his envious and astonished gaze away.
Back home, Chu Ge tossed his bag on the floor and sank wearily onto the sofa. Having had no sleep last night and only a brief nap on the plane that didn't help much, he was really feeling the fatigue setting in.
"Uncle, you're tired, right? Relax here for a bit and have some water. I'll go make lunch for you." Once inside, Shu Lulu poured a glass of water for Chu Ge and handed it to him with a smile.
Chu Ge was indeed thirsty, so he took the glass and had a sip, immediately feeling much more comfortable in his throat. Looking at Shu Lulu, he chuckled, "I've noticed now, you've become quite considerate after I went on a trip. If I'd known it would be like this, I would've stayed out a few more days. Maybe if I stayed ten days to half a month, you'd really change from a wild girl to a good baby."
Hearing this, Shu Lulu giggled again. For her, getting praised by Chu Ge was no easy feat, and she couldn't be happier inside.
After lighting a cigarette for Chu Ge, Shu Lulu hummed a little tune and headed to the kitchen. Though her cooking skills weren't top-notch, she could still handle making a meal. She had bought a lot of fresh ingredients yesterday, just waiting to show off her skills to Chu Ge.
After a few puffs of the cigarette Shu Lulu had lit, Chu Ge leaned back into the sofa and dialed Qin Ruojing's number. Once the call connected, he wasn't sure if she was in a position to talk freely, so he started seriously, "Chairman, I'm back."
Soon enough, he heard Qin Ruojing's amused yet exasperated voice in his ear.
"Chu Ge, I find you're just... I don't even know what to say about you anymore. You seem to bring trouble wherever you go. I saw yesterday's news about a power outage in a Qinggang City office building, electricity cut off and on for twenty minutes. Did this have anything to do with you?"
Chu Ge sweat-dropped, not expecting even Qin Ruojing to have heard about it. However, her tone revealed she was alone, so he chuckled, "The way you say it makes it sound like I'm the Plague God. Where would I have such capabilities? By the way, has your sister arrived yet?"
"Not yet, her flight was canceled yesterday due to weather. She said she's got something to do today and will come tomorrow or the day after."
Chu Ge breathed a sigh of relief, "That's great! I get two more days of freedom. How about I skip picking you up tonight? I'm a bit tired and would like to stay home and get some proper sleep."
"That's fine, let's just stick to the usual and you can come pick me up tomorrow morning."
"No problem."
Ending the call, Chu Ge waited for a while, then Shu Lulu had lunch ready, and although it wasn't the greatest, it was at least edible.
After eating his fill, Chu Ge left the dishwashing to Shu Lulu. Once she was in the kitchen, he went back to the bedroom and opened a cabinet, intending to find some clothes to change into after a bath.
Opening the cabinet, Chu Ge sweat-dropped again. Inside were not just his clothes but also Shu Lulu's clothes crammed in. He remembered Shu Lulu's bag wasn't that big—how did it fit so many clothes?
Looks like Shu Lulu was planning to stay for a while?
Rubbing his forehead, Chu Ge didn't say much more. Anyway, once Luo Suyun came back, Shu Lulu would have no reason to linger. If she wanted to stash her clothes here, so be it for now.
By that time, he should be able to stay at Qin Ruojing's, which would conveniently spare him the awkward encounters with Luo Suyun.
Grabbing the clothes he'd be changing into later and a towel, Chu Ge went out of the bedroom, pulled over a chair next to the dining table, placed them on top, and set the chair by the bathroom door.
"Little girl, I'm going to take a bath now. Once you're done with the dishes, go play in the room, alright? Don't come out wandering, you hear?"
"Uncle, you're going to take a bath? Want me to scrub your back for you?"
With a mischievous grin, Shu Lulu shook off the suds of dish soap from her hands and peeked her head out from the kitchen.
"What do you think? Get back to doing those dishes."
Rolling his eyes at Shu Lulu, he watched her stick her tongue out playfully and retreat back to the kitchen. Chu Ge then went into the bathroom.
Warm water cascaded from the showerhead, washing over Chu Ge, and his fatigue started to dissipate.
Due to his habit of frequent baths, he simply gave himself a quick rinse, finishing in no time, and stepped out.
Yet, just as he emerged with a towel wrapped around him, about to grab the clothes from the chair, Shu Lulu entered the bedroom holding a mug. The two of them locked eyes immediately.
