Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 318: I Know What I'm Doing

In the quiet bedroom, Chu Ge stood by the bed, watching Qin Ruoying mumbling in her sleep, and couldn't help but find it amusing.

It seemed that the man lucky enough to be chosen by Qin Ruoying held quite a high place in her heart. To think that this otherwise bold and audacious girl, who seemed to dare to say anything, could be so conflicted.

But to be honest, Chu Ge even felt a bit sorry for the man Qin Ruoying fancied. With Qin Ruoying's quirky and eccentric nature, how could an average man withstand it? Wouldn't he be driven crazy?

"No, I can't say it, can't... can't..."

Just when he thought the answer was about to be revealed, Qin Ruoying suddenly blurted out such words in her sleep, leaving Chu Ge speechless, with a bitter smile.

Although Chu Ge was indeed quite curious, seeing the look of distress on Qin Ruoying's face, he ultimately decided not to say anything further with that tempting voice. Instead, he tucked her in with the quilt, turned off the bedroom lights, and gently closed the door.

In Chu Ge's view, it didn't matter much to him who Qin Ruoying was interested in. There was no need to push her and risk waking her from her dreams.

After smoking a cigarette on the balcony, Chu Ge went to the bathroom to wash his face with cold water. He thought about these amusing events just now and once assured himself he hadn't given anything away, he returned to Qin Ruojing's bedroom, turned off the light, and went to bed.

The next morning, Qin Ruojing woke up first. Looking at Chu Ge beside her, she couldn't help but feel a bit stunned. She only remembered falling asleep leaning on Chu Ge's shoulder while watching TV last night, with no recollection of returning to the bedroom and getting into bed.

With a slight thought, Qin Ruojing realized it must have been Chu Ge who brought her back to the bedroom.

Gazing at the peacefully sleeping side profile of Chu Ge, Qin Ruojing couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed.

She wondered where Chu Ge learned his massage technique. The way he pinched and kneaded made her feel inexplicably comfortable, as if all her fatigue had vanished, leading her to fall asleep just like that.

If it were anyone else other than Chu Ge, who knows how much advantage she might have been taken of?

Thinking of this, Qin Ruojing suddenly laughed. If it had been someone else, how could they possibly have such an opportunity?

Besides, if Chu Ge really wanted to take advantage of her, there would have been plenty of opportunities, but this guy always behaved himself, which was truly commendable.

Although Chu Ge hadn't opened his eyes yet, being watched by Qin Ruojing gave him a sense of being observed, and he couldn't help waking up too. Meeting Qin Ruojing's gaze, he smiled openly, "Morning."

Qin Ruojing snapped back to reality, smiled slightly, and nodded, "Morning, was it you who brought me back to the bedroom last night?"

"Yeah, who else could it be? I doubt your sister would have the strength," Chu Ge stretched and sat up, chuckling.

"Thanks."

Stretching his arms, Chu Ge said, "No need for thanks, but a bonus would be nice."

Qin Ruojing rolled her eyes at Chu Ge, "I've realized your greatest talent is being a killjoy. I've already told you that you can use that bank card. Stop pestering me about money."

Chu Ge chuckled, "Aren't I just a timid person? With so much money, how could I dare to spend it freely? Does that mean no matter how much bonus I want, I can take whatever I want?"

Qin Ruojing was even more speechless, "You're timid? Then I wouldn't be able to find anyone more bold-faced than you. Stop joking with me, you've done very well these past few days, so just continue taking good care of Xiaoying. As for the money on that card, spend as you should. As long as it's not excessive and you keep a record so I know where each penny goes, that's fine."

Qin Ruojing trusted Chu Ge's character a lot. Handing him a bank card with over eight hundred thousand yuan itself was a huge show of trust.

However, Qin Ruojing didn't know that Chu Ge also had a bank card given to him by He Qing, with a balance far more than ten times the amount on her card.

After pausing slightly, Qin Ruojing bit her lip and continued, "There's one more thing. I hope you can position yourself correctly and not do anything inappropriate to Xiaoying. Although these words might sound unpleasant, there's a saying 'better to be a villain first than a gentleman later', and I hope you understand."

After saying this, Qin Ruojing actually felt a bit uneasy. When they were still at the Qin Family home in Kyoto, she had once had an unpleasant encounter with Chu Ge over such issues, and back then, Chu Ge was quite unyielding, ready to leave immediately.

If it hadn't been for Qin Ruojing swallowing her pride and apologizing to Chu Ge, they would have parted ways and remained strangers ever since.

Despite his usual jesting demeanor, if Chu Ge took things seriously, he could turn against you without a moment's hesitation, not caring who you were.

However, Qin Ruojing now felt it was better to voice her concerns, as Qin Ruoying was her own sister, and the thought of them being alone together gave her some unease.

"Don't worry, I've got it covered."

To Qin Ruojing's surprise, this time Chu Ge showed no signs of displeasure. He smiled amiably, his gaze open and clear, and nodded.

It's often said that people have a soft heart, and of course, Chu Ge could understand Qin Ruojing's concern for her sister.

When he first met Qin Ruojing, they were nothing more than strangers to each other, and her initial suspicions appeared quite unreasonable, which had made him upset.

However, after spending so much time interacting with Qin Ruojing, Chu Ge had long known that she was someone cold on the outside but warm on the inside, not to mention all the things she had done for him.

Without mentioning anything else, just the fact that Qin Ruojing, a dignified chairperson, once limped through a cold rainy night with an injured foot for his sake, without even letting him know about it, was enough to move Chu Ge profoundly. At this moment, he naturally wouldn't have any resistance left.

Seeing Chu Ge agree so readily, Qin Ruojing felt a sense of relief mixed with some unspeakable emotions. She parted her lips, but ultimately said nothing, just nodded to him, then got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up.

After breakfast, Qin Ruojing left home as usual. Qin Ruoying was still sleeping in, and Chu Ge was planning where to take Qin Ruoying for a bit of fun when his phone rang.

Glancing at the number, he saw it was He Qing calling, and couldn't help but feel a bit speechless. Was Miss He really so idle? Could it be she wanted him to accompany her out again?

Holding the phone, Chu Ge shook his head silently. This Miss He claimed to want to experience the simple life of ordinary people, but who among ordinary people doesn't work hard for a living and only steals moments of relaxation amidst their busyness? How could they possibly have so much free time to just eat, drink, and play?

Connecting the call, Chu Ge said, "Hello? Miss He, what instructions do you have?"

A melodious giggle soon echoed in the earpiece, followed by He Qing's heavenly voice, "It's not really an instruction, just wanted to discuss some things about the company. Cousin, do you have time to meet up with us siblings?"

Chu Ge chuckled, "Aren't you opening a company for your brother? Why keep discussing it with me? You know my sister-in-law is here; it's not quite right for me to keep going out with you, is it?"

Although Qin Ruoying hadn't yet left her bedroom, Chu Ge couldn't be sure if she might eavesdrop on his call. To ensure he didn't slip up, he used the term "sister-in-law" even when speaking to He Qing.

To He Qing, this sounded like Chu Ge smoothly calling Qin sisters by their endearing terms, almost as if he and Qin Ruojing were an actual couple.

"Ah, there's nothing I can do about it; you know my brother is restless and doesn't take things seriously when I talk to him. He's just a kid, unlike you, who are so capable. Also, there's something in Kyoto I need to handle, and I'll be leaving in the next few days. Surely you won't refuse me such a small favor?"

He Qing first laid a thick compliment on Chu Ge, then played the sympathy card.

Even through the phone, he could mentally picture He Qing's incredibly exquisite face and those eyes full of expectation. It felt as if not agreeing would be quite unreasonable.

"Uh, can't we just talk over the phone?"

"It's too complicated for just a few words; we should meet in person. I'm sincerely asking for your help, and it won't take too much of your time."

"Alright, where should we meet, and when should I come?"

"Let's meet at the Golden Pavilion, same private room as last time. Come over now, and we'll get it done quickly so you can go back and spend time with your sister-in-law."

Chu Ge scratched his head but eventually agreed. After all, He Qing was correct—launching a company isn't child's play, and it's not something that can be resolved with just a few words over the phone.

Besides, He Qing promised it wouldn't take much of his time. Likely by the time he returned, the lazy cat that is Qin Ruoying might just be getting up.

After hanging up, Chu Ge reflected on He Qing's use of "quick and decisive," which gave rise to a very amusing notion in his mind, as if he were secretly meeting He Qing for a date.

Even more interesting was the fact that he would be sneaking around not from Qin Ruojing, his titular girlfriend, but from Qin Ruoying, his titular sister-in-law.

After getting dressed, Chu Ge glanced again at Qin Ruoying's closed bedroom door. He left a note on the dining table in the living room saying, "I'll be out for a bit," and then went out.

However, just as Chu Ge closed the front door, Qin Ruoying's bedroom door also opened. At this moment, Qin Ruoying's expression was free of grogginess, not at all like someone who had just woken up.

"Just now, who was brother-in-law talking to on the phone? From his tone, it seemed to be a woman?"

Looking at the front door Chu Ge had closed, Qin Ruoying slightly frowned, rubbing her smooth and delicate chin, and muttered to herself.
