Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 612: Should I call them for you?

As his mood shifted, Chu Ge found this chatty driver increasingly entertaining. Hearing what the driver just said made him burst out laughing.

"Buddy, what are you laughing at?" The driver was a bit puzzled; he didn't think he said anything funny.

"I think you should stop driving, with your talent, driving a taxi is really beneath you," Chu Ge replied with a smile, shaking his head, answering in a roundabout way.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" The driver was even more confused.

"Your mouth, it must have been blessed, right? You could definitely make good money fortune-telling on the street."

The driver was taken aback, blinked his eyes, and suddenly realized, "Damn! Buddy, you... you mean to tell me that Audi A8 belongs to your girl?"

Chu Ge shrugged, "That's right, it's hers."

The driver looked at Chu Ge skeptically, and after a moment, smirked and shook his head, "Alright, buddy, stop pulling my leg. You almost had me believing you."

Chu Ge just chuckled, indifferent to whether the driver believed him or not. There was certainly no need for him to explain anything in this situation.

Making small talk with the driver now and then, Chu Ge was constantly pondering whether he should get out of the taxi to find Qin Ruojing or continue waiting.

Even though his anger had subsided, he hadn't fully gotten over it. He didn't know if showing up in front of Qin Ruojing just like that was the right move.

As he continued to wait, more than ten minutes passed. Just as Chu Ge was about to lose his patience and get out of the car, he saw the soaked figures of Qin Ruojing and Tong Yaqi stepping out of the park's gate.

Seeing these two women, before Chu Ge could react, the driver who was lazily leaning against the seat immediately sat up straight, his eyes filled with amazement, and exclaimed, "Wow! They're stunning!"

Even though it was raining heavily and they were quite far away, the driver couldn't make out their features clearly. Yet he didn't doubt for a second that with such exquisite figures and that inadvertently confident demeanor, they must be impressive beauties.

"Buddy, are either of these babes your girlfriend?" The driver turned his head and asked nosily.

"Babes? Ha, they're both older than you; you should call them 'sisters,'" Chu Ge laughed. Seeing them coming out, in good spirits and chatting happily, he relaxed a bit.

"Don't mind such details, are they or aren't they?" The driver couldn't take his eyes off Qin Ruojing and Tong Yaqi, eagerly probing, as if more anxious than the Emperor.

"Yeah, both of them are."

"What?" Even though Chu Ge spoke casually, the driver was taken aback. He turned to look at Chu Ge as if he were a monster and rolled his eyes dramatically, "Damn, if even one is your girlfriend, your ancestral grave must be smoking, let alone both? Buddy, you sure can brag without blinking an eye!"

The driver's gaze returned to Qin Ruojing and Tong Yaqi, and he smirked, "Besides, if they were really your feuding girlfriends, could you sit calmly in my car, chatting nonsense with me? Wouldn't you have gone in looking for them a while ago? If I had such pretty girlfriends, tsk tsk..."

Chu Ge originally leaned toward getting out, but hadn't made up his mind, seeing the driver's envious look, he burst into laughter, "If it were you, what would you do?"

"I'd have dashed into the park in the rain looking for them, not even bothering with an umbrella—that'd seem too insincere. It doesn't matter who's at fault; the priority is to offer a heartfelt apology first. If it means making them happy, groveling would be acceptable!"

Chu Ge was taken aback, "I recall you said earlier that women shouldn't be spoiled too much? Your opinion changes rather quickly, doesn't it?"

"Nonsense, this depends on who the woman is. If you've got an extraordinary girlfriend like that...face? Dignity? Damn! What are those?"

Chu Ge was speechless and gave up on getting out of the car. Anyway, seeing Qin Ruojing didn't seem to have any issues now, getting out at this point would only mean losing face and dignity himself.

"Damn! Both these women have cars? An A8! An A8! That woman is actually walking towards that Audi A8!"

The driver grew more and more excited, while Chu Ge became more speechless, thinking to himself, "Where were your eyes when Tong Yaqi drove up earlier?"

"I said all along that A8 belonged to my girlfriend, didn't I?"

The driver was stirred up, and abruptly hearing Chu Ge say this, he glanced back with disdain, "Geez, you sure have a tough mouth, buddy. Are you addicted to joking around with me? Should I open the door and shout to the girls to come over?"

Chu Ge shrugged, "Sure, go ahead."

He found the driver's suggestion amusing; asking him to actively approach Qin Ruojing himself was a bit embarrassing, but if she came over, he could handle it—more so, it would let him see her reaction.

Seeing Chu Ge's nonchalant attitude, the driver blinked, said uncertainly, "Should I call them? I'll shout, 'Hey, beautiful ladies, your boyfriend is here.'"

Chu Ge nodded with a smile, "Go ahead and shout."

The driver looked at Chu Ge, then turned his head to look at the two women who were about to reach their respective cars, "I... should really shout?"

Chu Ge scratched his head, "Yeah, hurry up, if you don't shout, they'll drive away."

The driver hesitated for a while but ultimately didn't do as he was told. He didn't open the door to shout at Qin Ruojing and Tong Yaqi. Instead, he watched the two women get into their cars and soon disappear from his view.

Watching those two cars drive away, Chu Ge was a bit frustrated, "Dude, what's going on? How come you only talk and don't act?"

The driver shook his head speechlessly, "Man, you're too sly. If I really shouted at them, wouldn't they think I'm crazy? If they actually came over and you acted all innocent, saying it had nothing to do with you, wouldn't I be in trouble?"

The driver was left speechless, and even more so was Chu Ge. But since the people had left, there wasn't much point in discussing it further. He leaned back on the car seat, feeling a bit disheartened, "Alright, let's go too, to Yipin Spring City."

"Huh? Not waiting for your girlfriend?"

"They both left, what's there to wait for? Just drive."

"Just keep pretending."

Both of them exchanged a few words in exasperation, and the taxi headed toward Yipin Spring City.

When the taxi stopped under Chu Ge's apartment building, Chu Ge gave the driver a faint smile, left a remark, and then opened the car door to get out.

"By the way, Geng Li isn't running the haunted house anymore; he switched to running an internet café. Next time you scam someone, remember not to slip up. Not everyone is as easygoing as I am."

After Chu Ge said this, the driver's face turned beet red. He realized that Chu Ge had long seen through his ruse, yet he didn't hold it against him and even gave him two hundred yuan.

Watching Chu Ge's back, the taxi driver scratched his head, thinking this guy... aside from bragging, he's really kind-hearted! With such a casual tone, could he actually know Geng Li?

As the driver pondered this, he was about to look away and leave when suddenly his pupils contracted. A shadow fell from the sky, hurtling straight toward Chu Ge's head. In that hurried glimpse, it turned out to be a flowerpot the size of a sea bowl!

The driver was taken aback, wanting to warn Chu Ge, but there was no time left.

However, at that moment, he witnessed something that made him feel as if he'd seen a ghost.

Just before the flowerpot was about to hit Chu Ge's head, Chu Ge casually lifted his hand and caught the bottom of the flowerpot securely in his palm.

"I... whoa, you've got to be kidding me?"

The driver swallowed a gulp of saliva, blinked, and his heart seemed to skip a beat. In such heavy rain, with raindrops falling all around, how could this guy hear the sound of a flowerpot descending from the sky?

This can't be real, absolutely impossible!

Yet, the taxi driver couldn't come up with any other explanation besides this.

Because the man in front of him hadn't even looked up after getting out of the car, which meant his reaction could only stem from an incredible sense of hearing!

His... his hand, it must have been fractured, right? A flowerpot, whose origin from several floors up, had such weight, it must be terrifying, right?

The driver pushed open the car door with a bang, just about to ask Chu Ge if he was okay or needed help getting to the hospital, when suddenly he witnessed something even more shocking and perhaps a bit terrifying.

In his sight, that man bent his arm to lower his hand from over his head, glanced at the flowerpot in his hand, and then looked in the direction of the building.

No way! His hand's fine? How can it be fine? I must be seeing things!

The driver's heart paused briefly, then started pounding wildly at the next scene that unfolded before his eyes.

This man, gazing towards the building, suddenly lifted his hand and with what seemed like a casual flick, the flowerpot that almost hit his head flew upwards like a rocket!

Then… it landed steadily on the seventh-floor window sill, right next to another potted plant! More incredibly, the flowerpot didn't break! It was as if nothing had happened, and it silently remained there.

Is that guy... even human?

The scene in front of him overwhelmed his imagination over and over, and the driver finally couldn't bear it anymore. His body trembled violently, his legs went weak, and with a splash, he fell directly onto the rain-soaked ground.
