Rod immediately returned to the Dream Realm and took control of the Light Platform.
His vision soared instantly, reaching beyond the Dream Realm.
In a chaotic ice-blue void, Rod saw a gigantic iceberg from a distance.
It was shrouded in boundless cold light, like the core of this icy world.
"That's the Ice Prison Fortress!"
shouted the Book of Knowledge.
"The Dream Fragment is inside the fortress!"
Rod gazed at the iceberg in shock, unable to imagine how they could battle such a colossal entity.
"Is that iceberg... the fortress, a monster?"
"Of course not, it's a special creation. The Ice Prison is filled with sealing, forbidden, and silent heat power, and the monsters born from it are called Prison Demons. They naturally like to gather icebergs together to construct a massive ice prison, which is their nest. The Dream Fragment is inside the nest."
"Is it possible for us to sneak into the nest and steal the Dream Fragment?" Rod asked.
The Book of Knowledge gently shook its pages:
"It's impossible... The Ice Prison Fortress is a powerful domain well with even stronger sealing power. If we could break its seal, it would be tantamount to outright defeating the fortress!"
So it seems the consumption of divinity is inevitable.
Rod stopped pondering over it and focused on manipulating the Dream Realm.
The Ice Prison was the most dangerous among all the high-level Spirit Realms he had encountered. In this space, ice chunks of various sizes floated about, while unbearably cold beams crossed this frigid world horizontally and vertically.
Chaotic air currents mixed with massive hailstones could unexpectedly surge from unanticipated directions.
The Book of Knowledge had suffered greatly many times before, colliding with ice blocks at high speeds, passing through unbearably cold beams, or getting caught in chaotic air currents or hailstones. Its control skills were far inferior to Rod's, and being in a rush made such mishaps unavoidable.
Fortunately, the strength of Dream Protection far exceeded past levels, so the damage wasn't particularly severe.
According to the puppet's statement, it would only cost a few dozen Soul Flowers.
Soul Flowers are highly condensed Souls Without Spirit, typically used for large-scale consumption with greater efficiency.
The Obelisk can condense Soul Flowers without any loss, and one Soul Flower equals one billion Souls Without Spirit.
This pained Rod tremendously, for even now, venturing into the Commander's domain made gathering so many souls extremely arduous.
But the Book of Knowledge seemed indifferent.
The Dream Realm itself is a soul spirit creation, inherently consuming Souls Without Spirit. Previously, the Dream Realm would consume thousands of Soul Flowers, and only this much now is insignificant.
Rod was stunned by its words: "Where did you get so many souls?"
The Book of Knowledge flipped through its pages, not particularly inclined to explain.
"Master, you should be able to imagine, after becoming the Commander, the speed at which you gather Souls Without Spirit has increased drastically, especially after the Dark Devourer reclaimed the Star Soul. With the realm of Destroying Darkness, you harvested 200 Soul Flowers in one go."
"The Dark Devourer is the only star the Dream Realm can inherit. When each Dream Master takes charge of the realm, they possess this ability, and most of their starting point is as a Commander. At that time, I've almost forgotten what Souls Without Spirit and Spirituality originally were, using Soul Flowers and Spiritual Flowers instead."
Rod instantly understood the Book of Knowledge's meaning; a Dream Master starting from scratch like him had never existed before. Others began as Commanders, and soon became stronger, so why would they lack souls or spirituality?
Of course, there's a possibility of lacking.
But the amount they lack isn't something he can imagine.
"Book, do you still remember how powerful the Masters of Dreams used to be? Why did they fail?"
The Book of Knowledge shook its head: "The specific deeds of the predecessors have been erased from our minds. I only vaguely remember some habits but no related information."
The puppet said: "This is for our protection. Every Dream Master eventually becomes an untouchable absolute taboo. If it weren't for the remnants of the previous Dream Master's information, we wouldn't even know his name."
Rod was quite regretful; the puppet's words were spot on.
But even knowing the most information, Rod had no idea of the specifics of Heigao'er, the previous Dream Master, unaware of what realm he reached or why he failed.
All he knew was that his failure coincided with the Fire Epoch's end, and the Dream Realm was shattered at that time. He barely survived and rebuilt the Starry Kingdom, secretly assisting the Starry Queen, leading the kingdom back to prosperity and growth.
But eventually, he was betrayed by three powerful Ancient Evil Thoughts—Ark, Ahe, and Alan. He perished, and the Starry Kingdom to which he devoted countless resources was destroyed by them in mere centuries.
The lessons of the Starry Kingdom are tragic, and Ancient Evil Thoughts are undoubtedly humanity's dire nemesis. Currently, Ark has been confirmed to be hiding in Trolian, and many of Ancient Evil Thoughts that Rod excavated are related to him.
But the whereabouts of the other two Ancient Evil Thoughts are unknown.
Rod has resolved that Trolian must not follow the Starry Kingdom's old path. He must vigilantly guard against Ancient Evil Thoughts and eradicate them.
