Rod's face dropped immediately.
1 piece of Soul Firewood equals 10 points of Divinity.
10 pieces of Soul Firewood equals 100 points of Divinity!
Yet, he only had 2 points!
This was just the resource needed to activate it once.
Most importantly, from the look of this description, Rod vaguely felt something bad; it seemed that providing 10 pieces of Soul Firewood might not result in obtaining a Star Soul.
But no matter what, he had to try.
He had to quickly gather 100 points of Divinity.
Rod exhaled and shifted his gaze to the Soul Altar.
After the battle at the fortress, the altar was piled high with souls, among which there were over 50,000 souls of Prison Demons, 11 souls of Great Prison Demons, and one soul of Giant Prison Demons.
Unfortunately, there were no King Souls among these souls.
Rod focused his gaze on the bizarre spirit imprisoned in the Ice Mountain Fortress.
[Incomprehensible Chaotic Spirit]
[Undiscernible Position]
[Undiscernible Strength]
[This is an incomprehensible chaotic spiritual body, rife with tear marks throughout the chaotic spirit threads, seemingly torn down from a more powerful spirit; it has been separated from the soul body for a long time, long enough for the river of time to leave wash marks on its spirit threads.]
It was Rod's first time seeing such a spirit, where ancient, mysterious, and chaotic elements manifested simultaneously.
This piqued his curiosity, and he urgently wanted to know the origin of this spirit.
"Book, can you decipher anything?"
The Book of Knowledge fell into a prolonged silence, and after a while, it flipped its pages and spoke.
"I don't know, there is no information about it in my memory; it's as clean as the Goddess's bathhouse."
"Perhaps, we can sacrifice it; once the Soul Altar deconstructs it, we might discover its secrets."
Rod hesitated for a moment but ultimately followed the book's advice and began to sacrifice the [Incomprehensible Chaotic Spirit].
Air over the Soul Altar began to distort; the invisible forces grasped this chaotic spiritual body like usual.
However, unlike all the souls previously sacrificed here, it did not immediately disintegrate but emitted eerie shrieks.
The altar began to tremble, the invisible hands struggled to decompose it, yet the spiritual body remained unmoved; Rod soon noticed that the shrieks seemed not to come from the spiritual body but rather from those invisible hands.
"What's going on?"
Rod stared in shock at everything happening; he had never seen a soul that couldn't be sacrificed on the Soul Altar.
"Wrong!"
The Book of Knowledge suddenly shouted urgently, "Master, stop quickly! The altar is cracking!"
Rod panicked and scrambled to hold the spiritual body and, in his consciousness, stopped the sacrificial process on the Soul Altar.
It was an operation he had never done before, and he was a bit flustered.
The invisible forces dissipated; the shrieks and trembles ceased, the spiritual body lay quietly in his hands, displaying an eerie pale color, internally chaotic as ever.
Rod looked down to see two large cracks splitting the Soul Altar nearly in half.
"What happened to the Soul Altar? What just occurred?"
The Book of Knowledge said dejectedly, "The altar was damaged... I'll have to spend a lot of souls to repair it."
It jumped onto Rod's shoulder, staring closely at the spiritual body in his hands.
"Master, the strength of this spiritual body far exceeds the limits of the Soul Altar; its origin is older than we imagined. Even the current strength of the Dream Realm is insufficient to sacrifice it."
Rod exclaimed, "Such a thing is possible?"
"Yes, Master."
The Book of Knowledge had now calmed down.
"The Soul Altar is also limited by strength; it cannot accommodate overly powerful souls and cannot sacrifice overly powerful spiritual bodies. We've encountered similar events before."
Upon hearing this, Rod remembered.
Long ago, after defeating an invasion, the souls of invading creatures couldn't be accommodated; only forced sacrifice was possible, ultimately causing significant disturbance and triggering noticeable source feedback.
The current invasions could be said to be based on that incident.
That sacrifice was the Dream Realm's declaration of war against the Black Fog.
But it also marked the beginning of Rod's rapid growth.
Recalling now still felt like a dream.
Unexpectedly, a similar event occurred again.
Rod could only return the spiritual body to the Crystal Wall; unbelievably, the Soul Altar couldn't sacrifice this spiritual body, yet it could accommodate it.
The Book of Knowledge pondered, "Perhaps the spirit's main body is very powerful, but this is merely a torn-off portion; its overall energy level is not very high, yet its Position and Strength far exceed our imagination."
Rod suddenly realized, "No wonder it's imprisoned in such a large Ice Mountain Fortress... What might its main body be? The true God you mentioned?"
"Absolutely!"
The Book of Knowledge confirmed affirmatively.
"It could be some stronger, more ancient Ancient God, perhaps the Lord mentioned by the Ancient Gods."
Rod suddenly had a thought, "Could it be Supreme Will?"
The Book of Knowledge couldn't answer this question and had to call Asa over.
Yet Asa couldn't discern; his own memory concerning Supreme Will was completely dissipated; he learned about Supreme Will and Evil Thought Stele from Amon and other evil thoughts.
"It doesn't seem like it, my master."
