Seeking Immortality in a Bizarre World

Chapter 356 Trusting the Wisdom of Future Generations! Mind Reading?_1

"True Fire Palace, Thousand Mountains Sect, and Divine Talisman Gate are in collaboration with the Bizarre Alliance," the Black Wing Bizarre Person revealed. The Bizarre Alliance had numerous cooperating forces; of the seven remaining Upper Nine Sects, four were its allies. Thousand Mountains Sect was unexpected. The Jade Bell True Monarch of Thousand Mountains Sect guarded the Town Demon Alliance's Demon-Sealing Tower. It was presumed they were allies of the Town Demon Alliance, but to everyone's surprise, the Bizarre Alliance was also their cooperation target. Many sects that collaborated with the Town Demon Alliance also had secret connections with the Bizarre Alliance. If it was only cooperation, they could still be deemed fence-sitters. However, with the appearance of Bizarre Persons in Seven Seas Tower, the situation became different. This signified that Seven Seas Tower truly leaned towards the Bizarre Alliance—they had made their choice.

As long as the Four Great Deification Sects and Wang Fugui were present, the Bizarre Alliance and its cooperating allies dared not cause trouble. Once they departed, the Bizarre Alliance would be unrestrained. They lay in the darkness, biding their time. On the day the tide of Bizarre Demons erupted, ordinary sects and Loose Cultivators would face Bizarre Demons everywhere, along with threats from the Bizarre Alliance. The fate of ordinary Cultivators would be bleak: either death at the hands of Bizarre Demons or becoming Test Bizarre Persons, assisting the Bizarre Alliance and its allies in transforming into Bizarre Persons. A great number of sealed Bizarre Demons would be taken out, seeking suitable ones. By then, the Sealed Land would truly become a purgatory on earth.

Is Wang Fugui aware of this?

"I should inform him regardless and let him judge the veracity of this matter," the Insect External Incarnation thought. He took out the Tongluo Sound Disc and contacted Wang Fugui. "I've just received some information, though I'm unsure of its truthfulness..." He then relayed what he had learned.

A long silence met him from the Tongluo Sound Disc, followed by a soft sigh. "I have known about this for a long time..."

Why had he not acted to resolve the issue?

"Over nine hundred years ago, when I first entered the Sealed Land, I had already discovered this problem," Wang Fugui explained. "Back then, the number of Upper Nine Sects in the Western Wasteland Domain far exceeded the present. Many sects that collaborated with the Bizarre Alliance perished at my hand. You are well aware of Heavenly Feather Gate; they cooperated with the Bizarre Alliance, and I slew a great number of their Cultivators, nearly leading to the sect's annihilation.

"Unfortunately, it was all for naught. The Bizarre Alliance forces that were eradicated would resurface before long. The root of the problem is inequality. Cultivators who realize they are mere pawns to be sacrificed rarely accept their fate; they will try everything possible to survive. The closer the great calamity looms, the more severe the situation becomes. This is the very reason the Bizarre Alliance continually resurges! As long as someone wishes to escape this cage, they can become a member of the Bizarre Alliance."

Wang Fugui understood the core of the conflict but was powerless to resolve it.

The Mysterious Realm employed many methods to seal the Bizarre Demons, but ultimately, these methods were all undermined for various reasons. The Great Sects were not united, constantly scheming against one another. The scourge of Bizarre Demons occurred frequently, causing chaos and disorder. The terrifying Bizarre Demons cast a shadow over many Cultivators. Without eradicating the Bizarre Demons, there can be no peace of mind. How then can one aspire to the Great Dao?

Faced with the endless troubles caused by Bizarre Demons, High-Order Cultivators in the Mysterious Realm united to construct a specialized Sealed Land. The Cultivators within this Sealed Land had no choice but to fight the Bizarre Demons with all their might. If they couldn't handle the Bizarre Demons, they would be the ones to die. The Xuan Realm Cultivators only cared about results, unconcerned with the process, and even less so with the Low-Order Cultivators they deemed as insignificant as grass. The five Divine Transformation Cultivators in the Sealed Land, though seemingly high and mighty, were in reality mere lapdogs of the High-Order Cultivators of the Mysterious Realm. They could not release the Cultivators from the Sealed Land; their only task was to maintain it, ensuring the continuous sealing of Bizarre Demons and guaranteeing stability. When Wang Fugui first arrived at the Sealed Land, he was determined to find a solution. However, despite his efforts over hundreds of years, he ultimately failed.

The five Divine Transformation Cultivators and the Bizarre Alliance maintained a tacit understanding: as long as no trouble was stirred during their respective tenures, everyone could 'coexist peacefully.' If the Bizarre Alliance didn't deliberately provoke them, things remained calm. This was also the fundamental reason why no large-scale conflict had erupted between the Bizarre Alliance and the Town Demon Alliance. Trust in the wisdom of future generations, he thought. Let the next person deal with the rest of this mess.

"Some people are becoming increasingly unruly!" Wang Fugui exclaimed. "With only three years left, they can't even wait! Test Bizarre Persons? Turning one's own people against each other is the cruelest act of all!"

The annihilation of the five Golden Core Sects was no small matter, especially since it was the Bizarre Alliance that had made the move. The emergence of Test Bizarre Persons signified the Bizarre Alliance's utter lack of a bottom line, which was infuriating.

"If Seven Seas Tower doesn't want to play by the rules, then don't blame me for being impolite!" Wang Fugui's voice turned cold, his tone laced with a chilling intent. Some rules could not be broken; if certain people were shortsighted, they would have to pay the price.

Seven Seas Tower is likely in for a terrible disaster! Jia Ren mused. It wouldn't be easy for me to resolve the issue with Seven Seas Tower. It would also expose my strength and could bring unexpected trouble. Leaving it to Wang Fugui is safer and more reliable. With a Divinity Transformation Cultivator making a move, I can also follow behind and reap some benefits. After this incident, I should have enough materials to refine the Supreme Demon-sealing Tower.

The Insect External Incarnation chatted idly with Wang Fugui for a while longer before using the Silverflash Wings to speed towards Seven Seas Tower. Traveling like the wind with astonishing speed, he arrived at the territory of Seven Seas Tower in less than five days. His incredible speed gave him a clear advantage, allowing him to arrive before the Town Demon Alliance. Seven Seas Tower had not yet received any news, and the Market within its territory was a picture of peace and tranquility.

The Insect External Incarnation arrived at a new Market and, as usual, began purchasing high-age Spiritual Medicines and their seeds, always preferring to be prepared. After visiting several shops selling medicinal materials, a Foundation Establishment Cultivator proactively approached him. "Fellow Daoist, are you interested in high-age Spiritual Medicines?" the cultivator asked. "I've just acquired a number of them from an Ancient Medicine Garden. I wouldn't be selling them if I weren't in urgent need of Spirit Stones."

Ancient Medicine Garden? Jia Ren thought. "I am indeed interested in high-age Spiritual Medicines," he replied. "If you have quality ones, I'm prepared to buy them in large quantities." Jia Ren possessed a vast amount of Spirit Stones he rarely had a chance to spend, making the purchase of Spiritual Medicines a very worthwhile use of his wealth.

"Please follow me!"

The Insect External Incarnation followed the Foundation Establishment Cultivator to a small courtyard tucked away in an alley. The yard wasn't large. A Golden Core Cultivator was seated there, drinking tea, and a radiant smile spread across his face upon seeing the Insect External Incarnation arrive.

"These are the Spiritual Medicines I've collected. Are you interested, fellow Daoist?" the Golden Core Cultivator asked, getting straight to the point without any small talk.

He presented stalk after stalk of high-age Spiritual Medicines. The youngest among them was seven hundred years old, and there were quite a few Thousand-Year Spiritual Medicines. Their quality and grade far exceeded Jia Ren's expectations, much to his satisfaction. Most importantly, the prices were fair, far lower than anticipated. Thousand-Year Spiritual Medicines were difficult to find in regular shops, let alone at such low prices. Since such an opportunity had presented itself, it was not to be missed.

"However many Spiritual Medicines you have, I'll take them all!" Jia Ren declared.

He needed a wide variety of Spiritual Medicines for different types of Elixirs, Insect Pills, and Bizarre Treasures. Who knew if one of these Spiritual Medicines might cause a mutation when used with Bizarre Demons? It was always best to be prepared for any eventuality. The treasures from the Xuan Shui Sect, the Cold Mountain Temple's sect treasury, the gains from the Barren Extreme Land, the Bizarre Alliance outposts... each had contributed a large influx of Spirit Stones. Over time, the accumulated amount had become terrifyingly large. He was earning Spirit Stones far faster than he could spend them.

"Fellow Daoist, I'm afraid you might not be able to take on so many..." the Golden Core Cultivator said, implying Jia Ren might not have enough funds.

This person must have acquired a significant amount of Spiritual Medicines to say that, Jia Ren thought. Without wasting words, the Insect External Incarnation took out a River Mountain Bag brimming with Spirit Stones and tossed it over. He saw the other person's apprehension and couldn't help but chuckle. This was a demonstration of his capital, proving he had sufficient wealth to purchase a large quantity of Spiritual Medicines.

The Golden Core Cultivator's face lit up with ecstasy. "I believe in your financial capability, fellow Daoist!" he said quickly. "These are the Spiritual Medicines." He tossed over a Storage Bag, packed full with various kinds of Spiritual Medicines—hundreds of stalks in total.

The number of Thousand-Year Spiritual Medicines exceeded a hundred, and there were even more than ten two-thousand-year-old ones. These were quantities Jia Ren had never encountered before. Did this fellow really discover an Ancient Spiritual Medicine Garden? Such incredible luck! Jia Ren had no intention of resorting to murder and robbery for the treasure; the surplus Spirit Stones he possessed could be readily exchanged for these high-age Spiritual Medicines. The seller, for his part, didn't care how many Spirit Stones were offered, readily accepting them all. Jia Ren spent nearly ten million Spirit Stones on the spot to purchase the Spiritual Medicines.

The two completed the transaction, both wearing smiles of satisfaction. The deal had gone surprisingly smoothly. Content with his purchase, the Insect External Incarnation left and found a Cave to settle into. Next, he would wait for the Town Demon Alliance to arrive for their trade.

"Dad, why didn't we sell all the Spiritual Medicines?" the Foundation Establishment Cultivator asked his father later. "His wealth was far beyond our expectations."

They had been visiting different Markets, selling cautiously and in small amounts to avoid attracting unwanted attention. This transaction, however, had far exceeded their usual volume, making the risk seem worthwhile.

"Quit while you're ahead!" the father replied. "We'll sell the Spiritual Medicines slowly; there's no need to rush."

It would be ideal to sell all the Spiritual Medicines at once, the father thought, but the problem is... I have far too many. Even the amount I just showed him... was only about one-third of my total stock. He had risked showing so many high-quality Spiritual Medicines only because Jia Ren had displayed such astonishing wealth. Reveal everything? If he could afford it all, that would be one thing... But if he couldn't, I'd definitely be targeted by him, inviting lethal disaster.

Having sold a substantial amount of Spiritual Medicines for nearly ten million Spirit Stones, the father and son now had enough wealth to live extravagantly for a long time.

After completing the sale, the father and son had no desire to linger in the Market and quickly made their departure. However, before they could even leave the Market, three Golden Core Cultivators in Seven Seas Tower Taoist Robes blocked their path.

"At Yunlu Market, you sold five Thousand-Year Spiritual Medicines, four eight-hundred-year-old ones, and one two-thousand-year-old Spiritual Medicine," one of the cultivators stated. "At Four Seas Market, you sold seven Thousand-Year Spiritual Medicines and nine seven-hundred-year-old ones." He continued, "..."

"How many did you sell this time?!"

The newcomers seemed to know their every move; each number they recited sent a chill down the pair's spines.

"How is this possible? How could you know about this?" the father exclaimed. They believed they had acted with utmost secrecy, yet their dealings had been exposed. It was utterly baffling.

Before the two could attempt to flee, a flash of snowy sword light streaked past, and their heads were separated from their bodies.

"These men stole Spiritual Medicines from Seven Seas Tower. Their crime deserves death!" declared one of the attackers.

The Insect External Incarnation was in seclusion inside his Cave when the protective Formation was suddenly and forcibly broken. A figure then sauntered in.

"Fellow Daoist, your generosity in spending nearly ten million Spirit Stones is quite remarkable. May I inquire which sect you hail from?" the intruder asked.

The Insect External Incarnation's expression darkened instantly; anyone would be furious if their Cave were breached in such a manner.

The visitor's eyes glinted slightly. Upon clearly seeing the Insect External Incarnation, the intruder's radiant smile froze, replaced by an expression of utter disbelief. "The Town Demon Alliance intends to move against Seven Seas Tower?!"
