The King of Urban Mercenaries

Chapter 1031: Liu Xiaoya Returns Home

Looking at the old house that was on the brink of collapse, Butcher was at a loss for words. He opened his mouth but then closed it again, unable to imagine that Liu Xiaoya had once lived in such a place.

The return of Liu Xiaoya immediately drew the attention of the surrounding villagers. After all, Butcher was driving a BMW belonging to Mu Shanshan. Although BMWs are not considered very high-end, they are still a rare sight in this ordinary area. Moreover, the person getting out of the car was their former little girl Liu Xiaoya, which instantly caused the villagers to gather around.

Getting out of the car, Liu Xiaoya chatted for a while with some familiar people with whom she had good relations. Meanwhile, her family heard the noise and came out of the house. When they saw Liu Xiaoya, they were first amazed, then shocked, and finally joyful, grinning from ear to ear.

Her sister quickly walked up to Liu Xiaoya, grabbed her hand, and said, "Xiaoya, you are so accomplished to have found such a rich husband. It's wonderful."

Liu Xiaoya glanced at her sister, seeing the once indifferent, mocking mouth and the eyes that used to deride her now full of compliments and praise. But to Liu Xiaoya, it was utterly disgusting, making her feel nauseous!

Liu Xiaoya abruptly withdrew her hand and said coldly, "Don't touch me!"

"Xiaoya, what's wrong with you? I'm your sister," Liu Xiaoya's sister said with a sorrowful expression.

"I don't have a sister like you. If you really treated me as your own sister, you wouldn't have come up with ideas to sell me, nor would you stand by coldly as I was taken away, saying nothing and just watching indifferently," Liu Xiaoya replied.

Her voice was loud, and the surrounding villagers heard it clearly, starting to point fingers at Liu Xiaoya's sister.

Liu Xiaoya's sister heard Liu Xiaoya dare to speak to her like this. Previously, Liu Xiaoya's status at home was the lowest. If her sister said anything, Liu Xiaoya wouldn't dare to talk back. Even if her sister kicked her, Liu Xiaoya wouldn't retaliate, much less ridicule her like today, speaking disrespectfully.

"You insolent girl, I see you haven't been disciplined in a while. Today, I'll teach you a lesson!" Liu Xiaoya's sister suddenly wanted to strike Liu Xiaoya. Clearly, the old authoritarian ways hadn't dissipated, and seeing Liu Xiaoya dare to confront her, she exploded with her former assumptions, about to hit Liu Xiaoya.

Liu Xiaoya stood straight, waiting for her sister's arm to come down.

At that moment, Butcher came over and directly grabbed Liu Xiaoya's sister's arm, saying to her, "If you dare touch even a hair on Xiaoya, I won't let you use your hands to eat for the rest of your life."

Liu Xiaoya's sister, prone to bullying the weak, was scared stiff by Butcher's towering presence, struggled desperately, and when Butcher let go, she stumbled to the ground, scrambling back home in fright. Soon, Liu Xiaoya's parents came out from the courtyard.

"Xiaoya? Is it really you, Xiaoya? You're back!" A middle-aged woman emerged from the courtyard, looked at Liu Xiaoya and the Butcher behind her, saying, "Xiaoya, come inside and sit."

Liu Xiaoya looked at Butcher and asked, "Do you want to go in and take a look?"

Butcher thought for a moment, nodded, and since he had nothing better to do, figured it wouldn't hurt to take a look, so he said, "Let's go in and have a look."

The two walked into the courtyard, while neighbors outside watched the courtyard because Liu Xiaoya's sister had closed the gate, and their picket fence couldn't keep out prying eyes.

After entering the courtyard, Butcher specifically went inside to look. The house was quite low, and as Butcher entered, he could almost reach the ceiling with his hand. He looked at the cramped space inside. There were two rooms, with a bed in the main hall and another in the inner room. Butcher puzzled, asked, "Xiaoya, where do you sleep every day?"

Liu Xiaoya's sister immediately pointed at the bed in the inner room and shouted, "Xiaoya sleeps on that bed."

Butcher looked at Liu Xiaoya. He wouldn't trust anyone's word here besides Liu Xiaoya, and Liu Xiaoya cast a cold glance at her sister, saying, "My sister is right."

Liu Xiaoya's sister breathed a sigh of relief.

But Liu Xiaoya continued, "But I only sleep under that bed, laying a mat on the ground. Whenever my sister kicks the bed frame, I must get up to do laundry and cook. All the chores have to be done."

Having said that, Liu Xiaoya turned to her sister and asked, "Sister, I wonder who does the laundry and cooking after I left?"

Liu Xiaoya's sister stammered, unable to speak, while her parents stepped forward and said, "Xiaoya, it's our fault. Come back. Since you left, we've been doing the laundry and cooking, but your sister hasn't done any work, so please come back. We miss you."

The two elders spoke tenderly, tears welling up in their eyes, and Liu Xiaoya felt she was really about to break down and stay. But aware of her family's character, she still couldn't stand it. Thus, she said, "Dad, Mom, he's the one who bought me. If you give him the hundred thousand yuan you received, then he'll let me come back, and we can go back to how things were."

Liu Xiaoya looked at her parents, waiting for their response.

The two elders didn't know how to answer, and they looked again at Liu Xiaoya's sister, who said, "Xiaoya, this is wrong. You're so close to each other. Why do you even need that hundred thousand yuan? He doesn't lack money."

In the eyes of Liu Xiaoya's parents, she was probably only after that hundred thousand yuan. But a hundred thousand yuan is a substantial amount, enough to support them for many years, so in their hearts, Liu Xiaoya still didn't compare to that money.

After all, Liu Xiaoya had already been sold off. Even if she returned, her reputation wouldn't be good, nor would it be easy for her to marry. If she did marry, they might not get that money either. A married daughter is like water spilled. They all understood this, so they didn't plan to bring out the money.

"Exactly, exactly, Xiaoya, your sister is right. He probably doesn't need that hundred thousand yuan," her parents quickly echoed, agreeing with what her sister said.

Liu Xiaoya cried, and Butcher gently patted her back as a gesture of comfort.

"He indeed doesn't lack money, but I do!" Liu Xiaoya cried out, "You've truly let me down!"
