I Am Your Natural Enemy

Chapter 160: Hair-raising Rewards Issued (5k)

"Fatso, are you screwing with me? Even if it was your Fuyu Mountain's Qin Kun taking them like there's no tomorrow, it couldn't have been used up this fast!"

Old Six Sun gritted his teeth. Five days, three batches of pills brewed—by his count, there were at least sixty Strengthening Bone Pills, each one specially measured. Even Qin Kun could only take one a day, even with Tiger's Tremor helping him digest it, otherwise he'd be poisoned by the tiger-wolf medicine.

He hadn't brought that many ingredients this time. For several prescriptions he'd only managed a few trials, and was almost out already.

Who would've thought—just a few days after arriving at Fuyu Mountain, and he was about to run out.

Fuyu Mountain was using the labor like they were trying to work him to death.

"Even if all my disciples used these, and none were sold or given away,

Old Six Sun, if you want to swallow your own spit, just say it straight.

No need to start stirring shit after just two days on the job.

Even our Fuyu Mountain's most stubborn donkey works longer than two damn days before throwing a tantrum."

Seventh Great-Uncle Master shot Old Six Sun a look of total contempt, mocking him right to his face.

Of course, these pills were all taken by Wen Yan.

When Grand Uncle Master and the others heard Wen Yan had eaten ten pills in one day, they damn near jumped out of their seats.

A bunch of old men circled Wen Yan, giving him a thorough checkup, even took him to the hospital to get examined, confirmed that his bone loss had improved a lot, and all his tendons and bones were getting stronger and tougher.

They watched Wen Yan strike a wild pose, and somehow, he really managed to hold that Tiger's Tremor state together.

When they saw Yang Energy surging through Wen Yan's body at full blast, with crazy consumption too, they came to a conclusion.

This freakish consumption from Wen Yan could only have one reason—Scorching Sun.

If you stretch it, maybe Wen Yan was just born a martial arts prodigy.

The fact that Wen Yan was downing so many pills wasn't really a problem, as long as he didn't get himself into trouble by it.

High consumption? Just have Medicine King Mountain people brew more pills, problem solved.

They wanted to do it themselves, but for reasons unknown, even though they followed the exact steps and nailed the timing, their pills just weren't the same as Old Six Sun's.

Old Six Sun didn't dare let them take over, in case word got out and ruined his reputation.

In the end, he'd rather bicker with Seventh Great-Uncle Master while personally brewing pills himself.

With the way Seventh Great-Uncle Master said it, Old Six Sun actually believed him—only thing is, he didn't get it. Fuyu Mountain had been going downhill for generations, each one worse than the last. Outsiders were gossiping about how Fuyu Mountain was relying on Martial Artists to hold up its rep...

But damn, the pill consumption at Fuyu Mountain was huge.

By his estimate, to sustain this much pill burning, you'd need at least ten Qin Kuns chewing through them, to not get hurt by the medicine.

Old Six Sun did a quick calculation and was shocked.

If Fuyu Mountain had ten Qin Kuns, who the hell would dare make fun of them for relying on Martial Artists?

Especially now, with Spiritual Qi Resurgence deepening, the Great Zombies of Fuyu Mountain were starting to awaken, all that old heritage beginning to come back online. This was nothing like the other mountains in the Three Mountains and Five Ridges.

Those guys just needed to hang on; once they fell far enough, they'd hit bottom eventually.

With these Great Zombies around, no matter how bad it got, they wouldn't drop out of the Three Mountains and Five Ridges league.

Plus, who knew if some ancestor in Fuyu Mountain's Zombie Cave got a bit crazy in their own era, turned into a Great Zombie, and had been lying there hundreds of years—maybe even starting to wake up now.

That'd be a living torchbearer for the legacy. Any old inheritance Fuyu Mountain had lost for whatever reason could probably all be found instantly—and with an ancient fossil right there to explain things, no way they'd screw up or misinterpret anything.

Old Six Sun saw things clearly. Even the Eighth Uncle-Master Ancestor of Fuyu Mountain, who was a Great Zombie, as long as he put on some sunglasses, you'd never guess from outside that he was one.

The vibe he put out was super subdued, with a kind of energy to him, nothing like someone who just woke from centuries of sleep, and definitely not like someone who was still weak or not recovered yet.

Plus, there were plenty of young kids in Fuyu Mountain. On weekends, someone would take them to practice their punches and build foundations—it all looked like things were thriving.

No sign at all of decay or gloom.

Seeing all this in person, Old Six Sun quietly adjusted his plans. He had a serious talk with the Medicine King Mountain Master, and from then on, for things like opening factories and stuff, Medicine King Mountain had better look at the big picture and stop fussing over petty short-term profits.

By Old Six Sun's estimation, there'd be plenty of chances to work together down the road; even if not, as long as Fuyu Mountain could supply Great Demonic Tiger Bone, it'd be worth it even if Medicine King Mountain had to take a smaller cut.

While brewing up a new batch, Old Six Sun mulled all this over. As soon as the pills started gelling up, he got back to business.

It's just brewing some pills. He refused to believe it—he wanted to see how long people at Fuyu Mountain could keep up, burning through a batch every two days!

His Strengthening Bone Pills were true tiger-wolf grade stuff; ordinary folks wouldn't last. Push it too far, and it'd do more harm than good.

If they're crazy enough to die, he's brave enough to bury them!

Bring it on, let's see who drops first.

...

Wen Yan glanced at the last pill in the porcelain bottle, thought for a second, and capped it, letting it go for now.

Ten pills a day these last few days, progress had been crazy fast. At the very least, he'd straight-up mastered the Subduing Tiger First Form, and could finally feel out the point where he didn't even need to pop pills to practice it.
