Evil Dragon Crazy Soldier King

Chapter 1249: The Same Order

Yang Fei, woken up in the middle of the night, listened to Helen's weak voice on the other end of the phone.

He shivered instantly: "What's wrong with you, what happened?"

Helen explained the whole incident to Yang Fei in the simplest terms.

She proudly said in the end: "Jack, I protected our child, he wasn't affected at all."

Yang Fei consoled Helen with pain in his voice: "Dear, both you and the child must take care."

"I'm very sorry for not being able to protect you; I will come to you as soon as possible."

Helen trusted him and hummed in response. Hearing Yang Fei's voice, her fear and anxiety melted away like ice in the sun.

The Changfeng Squad originally scheduled to depart on the third day set off earlier due to the attack on Helen.

Six hours after the airstrike, Yang Fei and the Changfeng Squad had already arrived in Novis.

Yang Fei went to the Royal Hospital to visit Helen and was relieved to see she was unharmed.

Then, the entire Changfeng Squad engaged in an intense investigation and evidence-gathering operation.

The reasons and course of the airstrike incident were soon uncovered.

The attacker was a captain from the Novis Air Force base, a fervent follower of the Greenworth Royal Family.

After the fall of the Greenworth Royal Family, he maintained contact with the exiled Prince George.

Under George's planning, this fearless man personally piloted the aircraft to launch an airstrike on the Queen's vehicle.

While flipping through the report on the Novis Defense Minister's desk, Yang Fei listened to Minister Hailibu's report.

His fingers tapped on the desk, clearly lost in thought.

Hailibu joined after the Novis coup and was considered a former minister of the old Greenworth Royal Family.

He was a fence-sitter with many years in politics, cunning and adept at adapting to situations.

While respectfully reporting the entire course of the airstrike incident, he stealthily observed Yang Fei's expression.

Yang Fei currently held the position of Chief Guard of the Royal Household, a position Helen had granted him.

This position seemed insignificant, but under the guise of being responsible for the Empress's safety, Yang Fei could summon anyone.

This was somewhat similar to the Jinyiwei of the Ming Dynasty.

Hailibu pondered Yang Fei's intention in summoning him, trying to discern his thoughts from his expression.

But Hailibu was disappointed; Yang Fei's face remained cold and expressionless, commonly known as a poker face.

Though Hailibu was a minister of the former dynasty, there were many suspicious points, but Yang Fei dismissed him without a second thought.

The former royal ministers, having surrendered, were under extremely strict surveillance.

Their personal freedom was hard to guarantee; they were cautious and anxious—Hailibu wouldn't dare get involved in such a serious incident.

And as a small Novis Defense Minister, Hailibu couldn't possibly mobilize the air force.

Yang Fei listened to Hailibu's report impassively, asked two random questions, and waved him away.

The next person to be investigated and interrogated by Yang Fei was another former dynasty minister.

In fact, Yang Fei didn't really expect to get any valuable information from these people.

The reason he was willing to waste this time was merely to cover for the covert actions of the Changfeng Squad.

Yang Fei drew all the enemy's attention to himself.

This allowed the Changfeng Squad to quietly investigate the true facts.

Two days later, the investigation by the Changfeng Squad yielded results.

Mad Blade and Fan Yi walked into the Royal Military Department.

Yang Fei saw their expressions and knew there was a significant breakthrough.

He waved his hand to dismiss a senator under investigation.

Mad Blade put a thick folder on Yang Fei's desk and lazily started smoking.

"We've figured out the outcome; guess who wanted to take out Helen?"

Yang Fei didn't even look at Mad Blade, his voice as cold as ice: "Minister of Military Affairs Kahn!"

Mad Blade shuddered, his once smug expression instantly froze on his face.

"Holy shit, how did you know?"

Seeing Mad Blade's expression, Yang Fei knew he was right and couldn't help but sigh.

"It's really him, huh? Truly a disgrace to the great Forerunner, General Lester's name."

Mad Blade was relentless: "How the hell do you know? This is too weird."

"We investigated for days, tracking and probing everyone involved, and only found a few clues by chance."

"We followed the clues to confirm the mastermind was Kahn, and you just blurted it out... this..."

Mad Blade couldn't continue, just stared dumbfoundedly at Yang Fei.

Fan Yi behind Mad Blade also stared blankly at Yang Fei, clearly unable to accept this fact.

Yang Fei chuckled: "Can you compare with me?"

"You're merely a lowly Core Formation Stage martial artist, while I'm a top expert with Gan Strength Super God—it's all about intuition."

If anyone else said this, Mad Blade would have scolded them soundly, yet when Yang Fei said it, Mad Blade had to believe it.

A martial artist who breaks through oneself also develops the brain deeper.

The intuition of a Supreme Martial Artist is not unfounded nonsense, sometimes it's closer to the truth.

Only a few people had the ability to mobilize aircraft and have them successfully launched.

Identifying the mastermind wasn't too difficult for Yang Fei; the challenge was the evidence.

Fan Yi listened quietly on the side and finally said calmly.

"So, what do we do now? Should we immediately arrest Kahn?"

Even though Yang Fei expected this, he still felt very distressed when the time came.

"This is tricky. Although Kahn turned traitor, his father, General Lester, was the nation's greatest Forerunner."

"Lester held high prestige among the people. Truly arresting Kahn might spark civil unrest."

Mad Blade nodded: "That's indeed the case."

'"The public doesn't know the truth, they will just say Her Majesty Helen eradicates dissidents ruthlessly after ascending the throne, never believing Kahn would betray and target Her Majesty Helen."

Yang Fei nodded: "I'll discuss this with Helen, while you guys strictly monitor Kahn's movements. If he tries to escape, execute him on the spot."

Fan Yi and Mad Blade were momentarily stunned, Mad Blade looking hesitantly at Yang Fei.

"Do we really need to kill him? It feels kind of dishonorable, considering General Lester's contribution to the country."

Yang Fei's expression grew stern: "If this person can't be under our control, he absolutely cannot be left."

"He could easily leverage General Lester's reputation and his own influence in the military to rally forces against Helen."

"If that happens, the recently peaceful Greenfield Commonwealth will likely descend into war again."

At this point, Yang Fei sighed.

"I believe, even if General Lester were alive, he would give the same order."

Mad Blade and Fan Yi nodded silently, and Yang Fei waved: "Go, carry out the order."
