Beast Taming: Slaughter Atlas

Chapter 299: Training

Chu Chen pointed not far away and said with a smile, "Let's start with ten shuttle runs."

Chu Chen planned to first test the waters to see how the stamina of the two little guys held up. If their stamina was good, he would gradually increase the intensity of the training.

The two little guys exchanged glances and then looked at Chu Chen's Spatial Ring before reluctantly starting the training.

However, the two little guys were quite clever. They trained without putting in much effort, moving at an exceptionally slow pace.

Chu Chen saw this and shook his head with some helplessness, but he had his own ways to deal with the two little guys.

He coughed lightly, and said calmly, "Whoever completes the training first will directly receive a reward; if you fall behind, the reward will be canceled."

Upon hearing this, the two little guys immediately became anxious, howling at Chu Chen to express their dissatisfaction.

Seeing this, Chu Chen merely scratched his ears indifferently and said, "Feng Shuang is currently in the lead. If you keep it up, you'll get the reward, and if you complete the training within the stipulated time, I'll reward you with an extra dress."

Hearing this, Feng Shuang immediately stopped howling and quickly flapped its wings to start accelerating in flight.

Cage heard Chu Chen's words and looked at Feng Shuang, who was flying diligently, before going silent and making an effort to catch up.

Seeing this, Chu Chen couldn't help but smile, murmuring to himself, "A little boat of friendship can flip over anytime."

Cage quickly twisted its body, catching up to Feng Shuang in just a few breaths, and turned its head to look at its opponent with a smug expression.

Seeing this, Feng Shuang clenched its shiny teeth, and its wings flapped rapidly behind it.

As a "buzzing" sound came, Feng Shuang's speed suddenly increased by thirty percent, and it swiftly surpassed Cage.

The two beasts chased each other, and for a moment their speed was pushed to the limit.

Seeing this, Chu Chen smiled more brightly, secretly thinking, "Little guys are easily fooled."

A moment later, the two little guys arrived panting before Chu Chen.

Feng Shuang flapped its wings to land on Chu Chen's right shoulder, while Cage dragged its weary body to coil on his left shoulder.

The two little guys looked at each other with an expression of mutual disdain, and their eyes were further ablaze, showing they were quite upset.

Seeing this, Chu Chen hurriedly said, "Cage won this round."

Upon hearing this, Cage showed a smug look, flicking its tongue with eyes full of provocation.

Seeing this, Feng Shuang crossed its arms, turned its head, and let out a cold "humph."

Chu Chen took out a food reward for Cage, then shook a piece of clothing in front of Feng Shuang, saying, "This is your reward; although you lost the endurance contest, your efforts make me appreciate you."

Seeing the beautiful long skirt, Feng Shuang's defenses broke, snatching it with joy apparent in its eyes.

Seeing this, Chu Chen took out some food and water from the Spatial Ring.

Once the two little guys rested well, Chu Chen set up the second training task.

Since Cage and Feng Shuang's Ordinary Level Skills were both attack types,

Chu Chen had Shadow Kill act as a sparring partner. The task for the two little guys was to use their skills to hit Shadow Kill once, thus completing the task.

Of course, given their strength, it was virtually impossible to complete this task, so Chu Chen would have Shadow Kill occasionally go easy based on their training intensity.

The two little guys began a rigorous training under Chu Chen's arrangement.

Cage was not proficient at executing the skills, with a success rate of only twenty percent, wasting a considerable amount of Star Power.

But the little guy did not rush; it patiently kept trying, with Chu Chen offering guidance based on his experience.

Cage's Star Power was extremely limited; after successfully using Vine Whip three times, its Star Power would be depleted. Even with Star Power Pills and some Star Treasures replenishing it, a rest period of around half an hour was necessary.

Feng Shuang was considerably better off compared to Cage; it had a very high affinity for ice and wind elements, achieving a skill success rate of over fifty percent.

However, its internal Star Power was equally thin; after using Ice Cone five or six times, the Star Power would be exhausted.

Come noon, the two little guys had practiced five rounds, their spirits and stamina reaching the limit.

Though they were worn out, there were considerable gains; Cage's skill success rate improved from twenty percent to thirty percent, and Feng Shuang's from fifty percent to sixty percent.

Chu Chen didn't have Shadow Kill go easy on them; he planned to train them properly in the afternoon since they had only practiced Vine Whip and Ice Cone in the morning, and Water Arrow and Wind Blade had yet to be trained.

However, Chu Chen hadn't revealed his intentions to the little guys for they were looking at him with resentful gazes.

Seeing this, Chu Chen hastily took out some food from the Spatial Ring and said, "Come over and eat!"

Upon hearing this, the two little guys immediately shifted their attention onto the food.

Cage flickered its tongue, rushing to the food first, with Wind Snow following closely behind.

After eating and drinking their fill, Chu Chen didn't haste the two little guys back into training but let them rest well instead.

About an hour later, Chu Chen woke the two little guys up, promising more benefits, and they started training again.

Until dusk, the two little guys finished today's training.

They lay listless on Chu Chen's shoulders, their bodies soft, evidently exhausted.

However, under Chu Chen's instruction, Shadow Kill went easy on them at the last moment, allowing the two little guys to successfully complete the task.

Chu Chen took the little guys back to his room and then took out the previously agreed-upon rewards.

Cage stared at the food in front of it like a starving ghost, pouncing at it.

In just a few breaths, it swallowed several large chunks of meat.

"Burp!"

Cage let out a burp, evidently full, but its eyes remained fixated on the food before it.

Seeing this, Chu Chen smiled and said, "Alright, you go rest first; all this food is your reward, and this Spatial Bracelet is for you. Put the food you can't eat inside, and take it out yourself when you're hungry." With that, he put the food into the Spatial Bracelet.

Seeing this, Cage's eyes glowed green; it quickly came to Chu Chen's side, pretending to be obedient, then in a flash, it caught the Spatial Bracelet with its mouth.

Space Equipment can be used by Guardian Beasts too, as long as they inject Star Power into it.

However, given the value of Space Equipment, few Beast Masters indulge their Guardian Beasts to use it.

Cage was like a child who got a new toy, repeatedly trying to take out and put back the meat, repeating the action dozens of times before directly swallowing the Spatial Bracelet into its stomach.

Cage's actions stunned Chu Chen instantly; after communicating with it,

Chu Chen learned Cage could regurgitate things it swallowed; it turns out this is a common ability among snakes.

Feng Shuang witnessed all this, its eyes filled with a sense of loss.

Seeing this, Chu Chen promptly took out another Spatial Bracelet and said, "This is yours; open it and see."

Feng Shuang looked at Chu Chen in surprise, its eyes flickered with hesitancy.

"Take it, and see if you like it," Chu Chen urged with a smile.

With this, Feng Shuang took over the Spatial Bracelet.

It eagerly injected Star Power into it and couldn't help but exclaim.

One by one, beautiful dresses were taken out of the Spatial Bracelet; these dresses varied, long and short, big and small.

Feng Shuang quickly went to the mirror to try on the clothes, keeping a smile on its lips, evidently very happy.

After fussing for an hour, Feng Shuang finally came back to its senses from the joy; it stored all the clothes back into the Spatial Bracelet and then fastened it around its waist.

Given Feng Shuang's size, using the Spatial Bracelet as a belt turned out to be quite fitting.
