Beast Taming: Slaughter Atlas

Chapter 310: The Terrifying Undead Army

Chu Chen sat cross-legged on Shadow Kill's back, quickly flying eastward towards the training camp.

According to the notes, the Celestial Wolf Mountain Range is located thousands of miles east of the training camp. Even at Shadow Kill's speed, it would take more than half a day.

Chu Chen closed the notebook and sighed. The Celestial Wolf Mountain Range has a total of ten peaks. The lowest is a thousand feet high, while the highest reaches several thousand feet. Most Star Beasts within have strength above the War General Level, and each peak houses a Monarch-level Beast King.

Of course, these were not enough to intimidate Chu Chen. What truly concerned him was the highest peak, occupied by a herd of Golden Armored Celestial Wolves, numbering in the thousands, with the Wolf King at Monarch-level Peak strength.

Such terrifying power, even if Lei Yao were to take action, he might not return unscathed. Moreover, in this examination, Lei Yao cannot intervene.

Thinking of this, Chu Chen frowned even more.

Three hours later, Chu Chen arrived at the first peak. On the way, he had sorted the ten peaks by height, with the shortest as number one, the second shortest as number two, and so on.

Ten peaks meant he had to slaughter at least one per day. Excluding travel time, he only had nine days.

Chu Chen dared not delay for even a moment. With a wave of his hand, he summoned Nirvana and the other Beasts.

"Slaughter everything here before nightfall," Chu Chen said in a deep voice, pointing at the first peak.

Nirvana and the four Beasts roared in response, then charged up the mountain.

Shadow Kill led the charge, disappearing into the forest in a flash.

Nirvana and Cage closely followed.

Feng Shuang sat on Chu Chen's shoulder, tasked with guarding him.

Chu Chen summoned the Slaughter Atlas, trailing leisurely behind them.

Shadow Kill served as the pathfinder, immediately killing any lone Star Beasts it encountered and signaling Nirvana and Cage to collaborate when facing beast groups.

Chu Chen did not directly order the Guardian Beasts to attack the mountain top but opted for a circular sweep since his mission was to slaughter the entire Celestial Wolf Mountain Range.

The Star Beasts at the mountain's base were quite weak, mostly between War General Level and Commander Level.

With the strength of Shadow Kill and the three Beasts, there was no opposition at all.

Soon, they reached halfway up the mountain. About eighty percent of the Star Beasts here were Commander Level and noticeably stronger.

However, their numbers had also decreased significantly, meaning the time required was about the same as at the mountain's base.

One hour later, Shadow Kill slayed the last Star Beast, and thus over seventy percent of the Star Beasts on the first peak were killed.

Chu Chen gazed at the Slaughter Atlas, where the Slaughter Value had reached a staggering 180,000, making his eyes burn with excitement.

This task seemed tailor-made for him. As long as he had enough Slaughter Value, he was confident he could complete this highly difficult task.

Seeing the exhausted Guardian Beasts with depleted Star Power and stamina, Chu Chen did not hesitate to spend 100,000 Slaughter Value to upgrade the Wind of Recovery to C-level.

C-level Wind of Recovery doubles the recovery speed.

However, this was still not enough. Chu Chen took out some Star Power Pills from the Spatial Ring to feed them.

After a brief rest, Nirvana and other Beasts returned to their peak condition.

Chu Chen looked at the mountain top and said in a deep voice: "The battle is just beginning, do not underestimate the enemy."

At this moment, the Star Beasts at the peak had already started to stir, the thick scent of blood enveloping the entire peak.

"Roar"

A loud roar came from the peak, silencing the agitated beast horde. They all turned to look at the source of the sound in submission.

"Roar"

The peak resounded with another roar, and as if receiving an order, the beast horde quickly charged toward the peak.

The Beast King's roar was highly penetrating; even at halfway up the mountain, Chu Chen could hear it clearly.

Shadow Kill emitted a neigh, translating the Beast King's command for Chu Chen.

"Are they gathering? This will save a lot of effort," Chu Chen muttered, looking up.

After considering for a moment, Chu Chen approached Nirvana and smiled: "Time for Undead Summoning."

Nirvana shook its antennae upon hearing this, took a deep breath, and its abdominal cavity swelled. Then it suddenly opened its mouthparts.

A grey-white mist spewed from its mouth as transparent soul bodies slowly emerged.

Although they appeared quite slowly, their numbers soon grew from a hundred to two hundred to five hundred…

Within several breaths, the number of soul bodies surged to over a thousand.

Seeing the struggling Nirvana, Chu Chen immediately summoned the Slaughter Atlas to enhance Nirvana's skill level.

Entry Realm, Skilled Realm, Mastery Realm… Perfection Realm.

As the Slaughter Value depleted once more, Chu Chen's expression remained unchanged. As long as the Guardian Beasts' strength increased, gaining Slaughter Value would become easier.

After the skill level improved, the number of souls Nirvana could summon began to soar.

Chu Chen wasn't in a hurry. He wanted to see Nirvana's limit.

About a minute later, Nirvana once again reached its limit, and the number of souls erupted from one thousand to five thousand.

With Nirvana's enhanced strength, the quantity of summoned souls would keep increasing. At present, a five-thousand-strong Undead Army was more than enough.

"Screech"

With a sharp screech, the five thousand souls seemed to receive an order, rushing towards the corpses on the mountain.

Within just a few breaths, the Star Beasts initially slain by Shadow Kill and others rose again.

Moving their stiff bodies, they congregated towards Nirvana at their fastest speed.

A quarter of an hour later, Chu Chen gazed at the Undead Army before him with awe.

He leaped onto Nirvana's back, fondly rubbing its head, and said excitedly: "Let's go."

Nirvana showed the same excitement. Under its command, the Undead Army marched in unison toward the peak.

At this moment, Duan Yanyang, hiding in the sky, witnessed all of this.

He switched on the recording function to capture Chu Chen's heroic feat.

Looking at the Communication Bracelet, he muttered: "Teacher, it seems you underestimated this kid. With an Undead Army of this scale, the first nine peaks pose no challenge for him."

Indeed, just as Duan Yanyang expected, the Undead Army, under Nirvana's command, charged straight for the peak.

Chu Chen and the Guardian Beasts followed behind the Undead Army.

Chu Chen intended to test the strength of the Undead Army. Even if they couldn't annihilate all the Star Beasts at the peak, they could at least wear them down.

The Beast King looked at the overwhelming Undead Army with a puzzled expression, unable to comprehend how this beast horde had come to be or how they dared to attack.

"Roar"

Facing the charging Undead Army, the Beast King let out a furious roar, prompting an immediate commotion at the peak. Hundreds of Lord-level Star Beasts rushed toward the Undead Army.

Several minutes later, casualties among the Undead Army reached forty percent, while the Beast King's side suffered losses of sixty percent.

Faced with the relentless Undead Army, the beast horde was terrified.

However, they quickly discovered the Undead Army's weakness and temporarily stemmed the tide of defeat.

Chu Chen noticed this, smiling and shaking his head. The Undead Army's numbers were too overwhelming; even if the beast horde found a way to deal with them, they couldn't reverse their crumbling situation.

A quarter of an hour later, the Beast King let out an unwilling roar before succumbing completely.
