Don't Mess with That Dragon

Chapter 188 Black Python (2nd Update)

Poison, and it's extremely toxic!

Just a touch of that gray mist, and an entire bush has withered. Everywhere the gray, stinking mist passes, the ground is corroded, as if melting away.

"Be careful, fall back!"

Suddenly, a terrifying feeling surged from the mouth of the valley ahead, and Rodney quickly ordered.

The gray mist in front of them was so terrifying that the beastmen's strength and physique might not be able to withstand it.

Just then,

"Hiss!"

A sharp hiss was heard, and at the mouth of the valley, a volcanic eruption seemed to occur. Air currents mixed with gray stench soared upward, and a massive shadow suddenly leaped out from the mouth of the valley.

Then came a thunderous roar, as the earth shook and mountains swayed. Inside the valley, a black tornado seemed to rise up, first sucking in the surrounding pebbles, which then shot out like cannonballs in all directions.

The Dragon Nest army hadn't even reacted before the stones that shot out with dreadful force were already flying like arrows.

Bang bang bang.....

Amid the continuous dull thuds, stones imbued with tremendous force struck the Bronze Shields, sending the beastmen in the front flying and causing their heavy Bronze Shields to dent.

"Fall back! Quickly fall back!"

The ordinary beastmen soldiers hurriedly retreated with their comrades, leaving only the officers and Extraordinary beastmen surrounding the area, watching the now serene valley mouth blanketed in gray mist with vigilance.

Hiss hiss...

Sharp hissing continued to emanate from the gray mist, making sounds akin to metal scraping. The dark area shrouded in the stinking mist emitted a pressure that nearly made the Dragon Nest beastmen soldiers present suffocate.

After contemplating for a moment, the Fox-faced man Quik stepped forward, raising the Red Crystal Staff high.

Whoosh!

The Fire Attribute Magic Power visibly gathered in the air, and with the scepter's power activated, flashes of flame coalesced in the air, merging into a massive, intensely hot fireball.

"Go!"

With a wave of Quik's hand, the enormous fireball blazed fiercely, sweeping toward the gray mist-shrouded valley ahead.

Boom!!!

A colossal explosion erupted, flames spread out within the valley, rising in a burst, blowing away the gray mist and revealing the scene ahead.

"This is!"

All the Dragon Nest beastmen paused, seeing inside the valley's entrance, a gigantic serpent coiled into a mass, its icy cold eyes staring at them, causing a chill to run through each beastman's heart.

The scattered fire embers from the fireball fell onto the dark, black scales, flowing like liquid and slowly fading into nothingness.

The dark, shiny scales appeared forged with iron, indestructible, glinting with a ghostly light.

Neither the Thunderstorm cast by Austin earlier nor Quik's full-force Flame Burst Technique left a mark on the black serpent's scales!

Frightening, terrifying!

This was the first thought that came to the Dragon Nest beastmen upon seeing the black serpent's emergence.

Its body was not larger nor longer than the giant snakes the Dragon Nest Legion had just slain. It was even smaller than the average size of the snake group, but its scales appeared more formidable as if a concentrated version of the earlier snake.

Not a single beastman soldier dared to underestimate this last-emerging black serpent.

The pressure brought by the black serpent in front of them far exceeded that of the previous swarm of giant snakes. Under its cold gaze, one's soul felt frozen.

"All soldiers below the rank of officer, retreat immediately!"

In the sky above, a massive figure slowly descended. Austin circled around the black serpent, his somber voice echoing in every beastman soldier's ears.

In the face of such an Extraordinary Magical Beast, ordinary beastmen were worthless cannon fodder, providing no aid whatsoever.

"Officers assist, with junior officers as the main attack force. Follow me to take down this reptile!"

The moment the black serpent appeared, Austin already sensed a familiar feeling of threat on it, similar to what he felt at the outpost.

This made him realize that the greatest danger lurking in the Wet Bone Forest had finally appeared before them.

This black serpent was the Giant Snake Leader hidden within the Wet Bone Forest.

As long as this serpent leader was defeated, the danger within the Wet Bone Forest would be resolved.

Being able to cover a vast basin spanning five kilometers in radius and ten kilometers in diameter surrounded by mist, meant the magical ore veins buried in the Wet Bone Forest were abundant. Once extracted, his level would undoubtedly increase further.

After all, with Austin's current strength, he was only one step away from reaching the Gold level.

Following Austin's command, the ordinary beastmen retreated, leaving the Extraordinary beastmen warriors to advance toward the black serpent.

"Charge!"

Each Extraordinary beastman officer wielded their weapons and charged in from all sides.

Leading the charge was the Dragon Nest Legion's commander, Rodney.

Instant Steps!

With a foot on the ground, layers of Fighting Qi burst forth from under his feet, a powerful counterforce accumulating on his body. He vanished from his original position in a flash.

The next moment, he appeared as if traversing space beside the Giant Snake Leader's upright torso.

"Die!"

In an instant, Rodney's Fighting Qi erupted all over him, with the air swirling up from beneath his feet like a torrential sea.

White Fighting Qi adhered to the nearly two-meter long Bronze Greatsword, spinning rapidly and cutting at the blade's edge, as though slicing through air with its fearsome power.

Buzz!!!

A crescent arc of light swept through the air like a full moon, its cool radiance illuminating the surroundings.

This slash unleashed Rodney's most formidable power, with the surging Fighting Qi furiously spinning on the greatsword's edge. Even if a massive stone stood before it, it could probably cut through it.

Slash!

Rodney's action was too swift; the black serpent yet to react was slashed by the greatsword, blood splattering forth.

With a successful strike, Rodney showed no signs of excitement, his expression changing instead, for though his greatsword pierced through the scale and embedded in the black serpent's flesh, it only went about twenty centimeters deep before being lodged, unable to advance in the slightest!

A twenty-centimeter wound was a mortal injury for a beastman, yet for a black serpent whose girth surpassed a water barrel, it was merely a deeper cut!
