Chapter 264: Professor Yutel (Part 3)

But one could still see those tiny tendrils moving slowly, almost imperceptibly, like small twitches in a dream.

What was more terrifying was that those eyeball-like structures seemed to possess some kind of vitality.

Their "eyelids" occasionally trembled slightly, as if they might open at any moment and gaze upon the world.

Even under such tight seals, it still emitted an unmistakable vitality.

It was like a spark that could never be completely extinguished, ready to reignite under the right conditions.

"This sample is one of the higher-level research subjects of the entire observation station."

Reynolds explained in a low voice:

"Even researchers like me have almost no chance of directly interacting with it. It is only briefly activated for research under special experiments personally supervised by Professor Yutel."

"The power of the Apostles is indeed formidable."

Ron simply commented, while inwardly weighing the value and danger of this level of Abyssal Material.

Apostles, those dreadful existences residing in the depths of the Abyss, possess powers akin to deities.

Even a small fragment of their bodies contains the potential power to destroy a city.

Such research materials are undoubtedly the treasure trove sought after by any Abyss researcher.

"However, I noticed there don't seem to be any Abyssal Treasures here."

He mentioned casually, his gaze still fixed on that Apostle limb.

Reynolds was slightly surprised: "You also research Abyssal Treasures?"

"Just heard a bit about them."

Ron cautiously responded: "When I was in the Black Mist School, I acquired an item called 'Stand-In Puppet,' which is said to be a type of Abyssal Treasure."

"So you actually have an Abyssal Treasure."

Reynolds' eyes showed envy:

"That's something many times more valuable than ordinary Abyssal Material, each possessing unique power and effects."

He shook his head, revealing a hint of regret:

"The observation station indeed houses several Abyssal Treasures, but they are all locked in the highest level vault on the third underground floor."

The two continued their tour, with Ron constantly evaluating the research value and potential application of these Abyssal Materials in his mind.

"If you're interested in researching these Abyssal Materials, joining the observation station would be a wise choice."

After the tour, Reynolds' tone became more enthusiastic:

"As a formal member, you would not only have priority research access but could also purchase some non-high-risk Abyssal Materials at internal prices for personal research."

The two arrived in a quiet meeting room, and Reynolds took out a detailed document and handed it to Ron.

"This is a detailed explanation about joining the observation station."

He explained: "It includes information on rights, obligations, benefits, and promotion paths."

Ron took the document and read it carefully.

This document was quite exhaustive, covering almost everything an observation station member needed to know.

"Of course, as a member, the first thing you need to sign is a confidentiality agreement."

Reynolds added: "Many of the research projects in the observation station are top secret and cannot be disclosed without authorization."

"I understand, that's only natural." Ron nodded in understanding.

The document particularly emphasized several advantages:

Observation station members can apply for reimbursement of experimental resources related to in-station research projects;

During Abyssal explorations, they can receive remote guidance from Professor Yutel and assistance when necessary;

More importantly, outstanding members have the opportunity to participate in higher-level core projects and access those Abyssal secrets usually reserved for Dark Sun Level wizards and above.

"Professor Yutel is the soul of the observation station."

When Reynolds mentioned the name, there was a noticeable respect in his tone:

"Without his persistence and dedication, the observation station could not have developed to its current scale."

At the moment Reynolds finished speaking, the magic field of the entire room subtly changed.

Initially, it was almost imperceptible, but soon it became increasingly evident:

An ancient and profound energy fluctuation surged from all directions, forming a peculiar resonance in the air.

Ron was instantly vigilant, yet did not exhibit any defensive posture.

He had long sensed a subtle feeling of being watched ever since entering the Abyssal Observation Station, as if the entire space was under the gaze of some presence.

Sure enough, the next moment, the seemingly ordinary portrait on the wall suddenly spoke:

"Mentioning my name makes these old bones a bit itchy!"
