Mueller's forehead was drenched in cold sweat, his hands trembling slightly, as he fused the last drop of Thunder Essence with the Fiery Essence.
The merging of these two extreme energies was akin to a storm stirring upon a lake; the uncertainty of energy fluctuations was almost uncontrollable.
The judge, Maurice, spoke with concern in his voice:
"This extreme fusion of thunder and fire elements theoretically can produce a special oscillation field, but the risks and rewards coexist."
In the VIP seats, the expressions of the mentors were varied.
"Has he lost his mind? Attempting such an unstable combination in a competition setting?"
Neumann frowned, his tone mocking: "It's just a typical Tower of Vibrations-style grandstanding performance."
Valen remained silent, merely narrowing his eyes slightly, which were as calm as an ancient well, yet showing a hint of alertness:
"Mueller has always been known for his precision, but today he is clearly affected by certain factors."
He inconspicuously glanced at Ron, who was focused on his own work, and already had the answer in his mind.
"Someone's pride has been hurt."
Eliot spoke softly, his ears twitching slightly, evidently having caught the unstable energy fluctuations in the air:
"He's somewhat eager to prove himself."
As soon as the mixture came into contact with the Autophagic Slime Monster, a fierce reaction occurred.
The surface of the Slime Monster first displayed a stunning pale gold, almost reaching the standard of top quality.
But immediately it began to flicker irregularly, with unstable purple and red energy ripples mixing into the gold.
"Not good!" Eliot's ears perked up in alert, suddenly tense:
"I can hear the miniature lightning explosions within the mixture; it's completely out of control!"
Mueller naturally also noticed the signs of losing control, his face turning ashen instantly.
He hastily attempted to add a stabilizer, his trembling fingers knocking over the small bottle containing crystal powder, despair flooding his heart.
In fact, when he channeled this unstable mixture into the Slime Monster's body, disaster had already become inevitable.
At first, it was just an imperceptible tremor, but in a flash, the trembling turned into violent shaking.
The body of the Slime Monster began to emit a blinding red and purple glow, as if it were a miniature star about to explode.
"I'm utterly finished..." Mueller sighed in despair, trying to construct an Emergency Isolation Array.
But the chaotic energy field had already disrupted his Spiritual Control, causing the magic structure to collapse at his fingertips, followed by a suffocating energy backlash.
"Everyone, back away!"
The judge, Maurice, shouted, quickly erecting a protective barrier.
Just as he was about to forcibly intervene, a precise sound wave shot out from the side, forming a perfect energy lock ring around the out-of-control Slime Monster.
That was Ron taking action.
His movement was almost instinctive, without a trace of hesitation.
Upon detecting danger, the quickly constructed "Sound Wave Vibration" was already released from his fingertips.
This was a variant enhanced by the "Micro-structure Adaptation" trait.
The energy fluctuation did not just simply encase the explosion source, but neutralized the chaotic energy layer by layer with precise frequency pulsations.
The entire process was as precise as a meticulous surgical operation, with not a shred of energy wasted or leaking.
The energy storm within the Slime Monster was completely extinguished under such precise intervention.
The intense light became calm, and the trembling gradually ceased.
The frenzied purple-red energy was decomposed bit by bit until it completely dissipated.
The plaza fell into a brief dead silence, followed by a deafening wave of astonishment and applause.
"Unbelievable! Such precise energy control!"
"I've never seen such a masterful energy intervention!"
"He didn't even use any auxiliary tools, resolving the disaster with just a spell!"
Mueller sat limply on the ground, drenched in cold sweat, his heart pounding intensely, as if it were going to leap out of his chest.
When he came to his senses, realizing the near catastrophe that had just occurred, a bone-chilling horror swept through his heart.
If that energy explosion had fully released, it would not only destroy his workstation; most participants would have been affected.
Although everyone present was an Official Wizard, and wouldn't truly be harmed by such an explosion, it would definitely ruin everyone's Bloodline Modulation process.
And causing such a severe accident in a public setting had unimaginable consequences:
His teaching position would certainly be revoked, his reputation ruined, and he might even be expelled from the Central Lands, never to return.
Such an incident could destroy an Official Wizard's entire career.
The lecturer position at the Tower of Vibrations was a precious teaching post that he had worked half his life to attain.
If it were destroyed due to momentary ignorant anger and jealousy, what a tragedy that would be?
"Damn pride..." Mueller reflected painfully in his heart:
"To be driven to irrationality by the performance of a young person was sheer foolishness."
What made him feel even more complicated was that the one who saved him from disaster was precisely the object of his earlier jealousy.
The "Marginal School newcomer" he had once mocked.
Not only did he demonstrate unimaginable Bloodline Modulation skills, but he also extended a helping hand in a crisis, saving his career.
The judge, Maurice, quickly arrived at the explosion site, his expression unprecedentedly serious:
"Lecturer Mueller, given that your dangerous attempt posed a serious threat to the competition's safety, I must disqualify you from the competition.
According to the rules, the committee will discuss further penalties, including but not limited to a lifetime ban from competing."
Mueller did not argue, only hung his head and accepted the judgment.
