Unrivaled in another world

Chapter 119: The Truth Part 1

[: 3rd POV :]

Daniel stood in silence, his own breath sounding foreign to him.

Before, he had already walked among powers that few could comprehend, his might had been otherworldly, a storm no army could weather, a void no kings could cross.

But now?

Now, there was no language in existence that could define what he had become.

Even the System's descriptions, sharp and concise, had been nothing but fragments of truth.

Behind each line, he could feel layers of unfathomable depth, active skills, passive blessings, forms waiting to awaken, forms still sealed behind veils of mystery.

It was no longer a simple gain of strength; it was the rewriting of what strength itself meant.

His gaze dropped to his hands, yet even they felt different.

The Eternal Giver pulsed faintly within him, like a cosmic rhythm, promising an eternal cycle of exchange and return far beyond mortal or divine logic.

The Voidbrand simmered across his veins, whispering of erasure, of rewriting not just curses or skills, but the foundation of reality itself.

He flexed his fingers, and the world responded as though waiting for his command.

Daniel's lips curled faintly, not in arrogance, but in disbelief.

Was this truly him still?

Or had he crossed the threshold into something else entirely?

His aura radiated naturally, no longer a weapon to be wielded but a truth to be acknowledged.

Even imagining a god standing before him, he could feel the inevitability of their submission.

And yet, despite the overwhelming tide of power, Daniel did not feel intoxicated.

He felt the weight.

The choices were not blessings, they were burdens disguised as gifts.

Each came with responsibility, each demanded a path that few, if any, could endure.

Daniel's attention finally shifted away from the overwhelming tide of new powers coursing through him.

[: Host, you still have 2 unopened Gift Packs? Do you wish to open them? :]

The System's interface pulsed faintly, reminding him of the two unopened gift packs that awaited.

His gaze lingered on them for a moment, curiosity rising in his chest like a slow-burning flame.

Compared to the colossal choices he had just made, two rewards should have seemed insignificant, yet the System never granted him anything without reason.

"Absolutely Yes"

With a thought, he opened the first.

A ripple of radiance surged forth, brighter than anything he had ever seen, forcing him to narrow his eyes.

[: Congratulations, you have obtained Fragment of Light (???) :]

Daniel's breath caught.

He had seen countless items, artifacts, and treasures, yet never before had the System given something so undefined, so shrouded.

No grade, no explanation, only the barest of hints, fragment of Light itself.

Not light as in flame or illumination, but Light as a primordial concept.

A piece of something greater, something cosmic, perhaps something forbidden.

His fingers twitched at the thought, was this fragment the seed of a power beyond even his new domains?

He swallowed his questions as the second pack opened.

This time, no light burst forth, but an oppressive silence.

A whisper echoed directly into his mind.

[: Congratulations, you have obtained a Skill, Absolute Fusion (???) :]

His pulse quickened.

Absolute Fusion.

The name alone carried weight heavier than any blade, promising possibilities without end.

If his intuition was right, this wasn't just a skill—it was an authority.

The ability to merge concepts, powers, essences, perhaps even existences themselves into something higher.

Daniel exhaled slowly, realization dawning.

These weren't mere rewards.

They were keys. Keys to doors he had yet to open, doors that even Sovereigns might fear to approach.

Daniel's thoughts lingered on the Fragment of Light and Absolute Fusion, but a deeper question clawed at the edges of his mind.

For too long, he had ignored it, but now, with the weight of god-slaying powers resting on his shoulders, he could no longer turn away.

"System, since I have finally reached the Mythic Rank, it's time for me to know" he finally spoke, his voice calm yet edged with steel.

"Why did the First Ancestors of the Rulers… seal this world from the rest of the universe?"

His words echoed inside the void of his consciousness.

"What truth lies beyond? What were they hiding from us?"

For a long moment, silence reigned.

Then, for the first time, the System's normally precise tone wavered, as though reluctant to peel back the veil.

[: Host, the answer you seek is one forbidden :]

Daniel's eyes narrowed. "Tell me anyway."

A pause.

Then, the revelation struck like thunder.

[: Long ago, this world was not isolated. It was once a plane filled with promise and infinite potential, destined to ascend into a higher-tier realm. :]

The System's voice was calm, but beneath that calmness lay something far older, like an echo of truths buried under eternity.

Daniel stood silently, eyes focused on the swirling cosmic interface before him.

His heart beat slowly, each thump syncing with the resonance of the System's voice.

[: However, the process of becoming a higher-tier plane isn't simple :]

[: It is a path carved in blood, forged by the destruction of countless worlds :]

[: Every aspiring planet faces endless wars, against other planes, factions, Sovereigns, Celestials, Constellations, even the ancient gods and entities that existed before time itself. :]

[: The Universe, Host, is a never-ending battlefield, a cycle of consumption, conquest, and collapse. :]

Daniel's expression hardened.

The System's words painted a picture of cosmic cruelty.

Entire civilizations wiped out, not for justice, not for vengeance, but for one reason only.

[: The reason behind it all… is Resources. :]

The voice reverberated through Daniel's mind, cold and heavy.

[: If a planet wishes to rank up, it must consume the core of another :]

[: Depending on the rank, it could require one planet, or hundreds, thousands, even millions :]

[: Each core devoured fuels evolution, each death births greater power :]

Daniel's gaze darkened.

"So, even worlds devour each other… like beasts."

[: Precisely, Host. And the rewards are equally monstrous :]

[: The higher the tier of a planet, the stronger its inhabitants become, the stronger their souls, their mana, their potential. :]

[: Simply put, the higher the world's rank, the more powerful its children. :]

Daniel exhaled slowly.

The logic was cruel, but undeniably efficient.

"So, the reason the First Ancestors sealed this world from the universe… was to protect it?"

[: That is one of the reasons. :]

"One of?"

Daniel frowned.

[: Without a doubt, protecting the people and preventing invasion were important, but the true reason why the First Ancestors of the Rulers sealed this world… is something far greater. :]

[: Every being in the universe, Sovereigns, gods, and cosmic titans, had their eyes on this world because of a single treasure it possessed. :]

Daniel's brows furrowed.

"A treasure? What kind of treasure could make the mighty descend upon this world?"

[: Remember what I told you earlier about Resources, Host? :]

He nodded silently.

[: Then tell me, what kind of treasure would even Sovereigns and gods crave from a barren, low-ranked planet like this? :]

Daniel's silence was answer enough. He could already sense the magnitude behind the System's tone.

[: It is exactly as you think, Host. :]

[: The treasure is called the Nexus Heart. :]

Daniel's eyes widened slightly.

The name itself seemed to hum with a frequency that resonated in his soul.

[: Nexus Heart is an anomaly among anomalies, an extremely rare treasure that cannot be found anywhere in the known universe :]

[: Even if one were to search for millions of light-years, they would never encounter another. :]

[: It is said that only one Nexus Heart is born every few billion years, a cosmic miracle forged through collapse and rebirth. :]

Daniel's tone grew tense.

"Then how did this world come to possess such a thing?"

[: No, Host. This planet did not possess it, it was born with it. :]

The words struck like lightning. For a brief moment, Daniel forgot to breathe.

[: Yes. This world was not created like others. Its core, the very foundation that birthed its lands and oceans, is the Nexus Heart itself. :]

Daniel's mind reeled at the revelation. He finally understood why the First Ancestors chose isolation over ascension.

If the truth were ever revealed, the universe would descend upon this planet like locusts on a corpse.

"So that's it…" he whispered.

"That's why they sealed the world, to protect it from the vultures circling the stars."

[: Indeed, Host. If a planet was born with a treasure capable of granting eternal supremacy, it would not last a single day under cosmic scrutiny :]

[: The Ancestors made the only possible choice, to hide it, even at the cost of progress. :]

Daniel clenched his fists.

"But still… out of all the billions of planets, why this one? Why would such a miracle occur here?"

[: You are correct, Host. It is unlikely. In fact, it has never been heard of :]

[: Normally, a Nexus Heart forms only after the death of galaxies, when countless worlds collapse and their residual essence fuses into a singular core of infinite energy. :]

[: Yet, by coincidence, or perhaps destiny, this one was born naturally. :]

The System paused, as though even it struggled to fully comprehend.

[: For a planet to be born, it requires a core, a naturally formed nucleus that binds its elements together :]

[: In this case, the cosmic winds carried fragments of a dormant Nexus Heart :]

[: When they converged, they formed this world. It was never meant to happen. It was… an accident of creation. :]

Daniel chuckled quietly, though his eyes remained sharp.

"Then this planet must have absurd luck… to be born from an accident that even the gods can't reproduce."

[: Perhaps. But such luck carries its own curse. :]

The System's tone softened, almost somber.

[: By sealing the world from the universe, the First Ancestors ensured its survival, but they also halted its growth :]

[: The people became limited, the natural evolution of magic, mana, and bloodlines stagnated, the world's potential was capped. :]

[: In saving it, they doomed it to slumber. :]

Daniel fell silent.

The truth weighed heavily on him, pressing against his chest like the burden of a forgotten age.

The wars, the limited growth, the mysterious ceilings of power, it all made sense now.
