"Go!"
After walking along the muddy path for a short while, the two stopped in front of a rather spacious courtyard.
"Sir," Jie whispered, "this is the place."
Hmm. Carl nodded. With a gentle whisk of his long sleeves, an invisible force tore the area apart.
Lesser Mage's Hand!
BOOM!
"Who is it?"
The loud noise caused unrest among the people in the courtyard. A white-bearded Wizard holding a Magic Wand looked towards the gate.
Seeing Carl, his expression shifted slightly, then returned to normal.
"Mr. Karl," he said. "What brings you here?"
"Harold!" Carl said darkly, throwing two bottles of ineffective healing Potions at the other's feet. "These Potions were acquired from you. How do you explain this?"
"My Potions have issues?" Harold picked up the Potions. After inspecting them briefly, fury appeared on his face. "Mr. Karl, what makes you say these Potions came from me?"
"Since healing Potions are in high demand, the pharmacy has three Pharmacists supplying them. To avoid errors, I've marked the Potions from each of you." Carl snorted. "Harold, do you think denial will suffice?"
This was a suggestion he had made to Charlie to make reconciling accounts easier, never imagining it would be used in this way.
"Even so, what can you do about it?" Harold's expression changed, then his tone hardened again. "The Potions I supply are absolutely fine. They passed your inspection at the time. Now that there's a problem, who knows what happened?"
"Dad!"
At this moment, an extremely, almost comically, overweight woman "squeezed" out of the room and grinned. "When will my roast suckling pig arrive?"
"Go back!" Harold's face darkened. "Don't you see I'm busy with important matters?"
"No!" The woman swayed, her fat quivering so much that even her broad robe could not hide it. "I want my roast suckling pig! I want my roast suckling pig..."
What in the world? Carl frowned slightly, his eyes flickering with an eerie light.
Fear Aura!
Endowed with the Bloodline of a Second Order Abyss Creature, this Bloodline Magic now possessed the power of a solid One-Circle Witchcraft.
"AH!" The woman shrieked, her crotch instantly soaking wet as the overwhelming stench of urine filled the air. Her knees buckled, and she collapsed to the ground.
"What have you done?" Seeing this, Harold's expression changed drastically. He waved his Magic Wand lightly, summoning several sharp ice spikes out of thin air.
"Stop!" he yelled. "Don't touch my daughter!"
CLANG!
Jie instantly drew his sword. The Great Knight's Battle Aura roared out as he pointed his sword directly at Harold and shouted, "Harold, put down your Magic Wand! Do you realize what you are doing? You are threatening a Wizard Apprentice from the Six Rings Tower!"
Harold stiffened and subconsciously stepped back, a look of fear in his eyes.
Hmph... Carl pursed his lips. Having powerful backing really makes a difference. One can even bully others so brazenly.
"Harold." Though his thoughts shifted, Carl's expression remained unaltered, his tone still icy. "I know you have ways to temporarily fool analysis spells with subpar elixirs. If you don't want your daughter harmed... then speak the truth!"
As he spoke, he slightly intensified the power of the Fear Aura.
"AH!" The overweight woman, collapsed on the ground, screamed loudly, "Don't come near me! Don't come near me! Devil… you're a devil! Dad, save me… come save me!"
"No!" Harold's face turned pale. His hand loosened, and the Magic Wand fell to the ground. "It was Simon! He made me do it!"
「 」
"Simon?"
Wizard Archie, holding the investigation materials Carl had handed him, lowered his eyes slightly. Without bothering to look inside, he casually tossed them aside.
"Tell the family of the deceased that the Pharmacist deceived the pharmacy with subpar Potions. Have Harold apologize, compensate them, and do his best to restore the pharmacy's reputation."
Archie continued, "The pharmacy will also provide corresponding compensation. As for Simon... forget it!"
Carl's face showed surprise as he looked up.
Just like that?
However, he quickly realized that Simon controlled dozens of the pharmacy's suppliers. Even if Simon was responsible, they couldn't act against him for the time being. Otherwise, the pharmacy would struggle to operate.
Just after leaving the room, he saw a grim-faced Simon waiting outside.
