My Enemy Became My Cultivation Companion

Chapter 357: Agreed to Get Married_3

Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign unleashed radiant auspicious light, cranes cried out in unison, and as the vibrant glow intensified with the soundwaves, it surged forward to meet the Yin Sha Giant Sword head-on!

Boom!

The shockwave erupted and burst forth, causing the entire Ghost City to rumble with a deafening roar; even the moat trembled, rippling outwards in waves.

Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign waved her hand and shouted at Yin Weiyin:

"Go!"

"Master!"

Yin Weiyin had just called out when a crane swept down towards her. Without giving her a chance to respond, it lifted her onto its back, its wings rising high before cutting against the wind, flying swiftly away into the distance.

"Master!"

The figure of Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign grew further and further away. Yin Weiyin cried out again in a voice laden with boundless worry.

With her back turned to her disciple, Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign mustered all her strength to sustain the radiant light. The surrounding buildings were bombarded by the residual force, collapsing into clouds of debris and rubble.

Yin Weiyin's silhouette receded into the distance, the howling of the wind rising in her ears.

A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign's mouth.

"Foolish child, I am your master, after all."

In the next instant, the radiant light shattered. The violent gale charged straight at her, and her recently healed, still-fragile body was hurled violently backward.

The protective golden light of the Nascent Soul Realm flared brilliantly, and the Emperor of Great Yu brandished his sword once more. The edge of the blade slammed down on the golden light with a series of deafening crashes, and the surging waves of energy demolished countless structures within the Ghost City.

Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign was forced to retreat again and again. Stretching her hands out, then clasping them together, she summoned her crane. Heeding her call, it swooped beneath her, catching her teetering figure just in time.

Despite Yin Weiyin's ever-distant form, the Emperor's expression remained unchanged.

The waters of the Huangquan River began to surge upward into the seven orifices of the dismembered, chaotic corpse. Within its mangled form, the faint outline of the Capital City's Secret Realm flickered intermittently, as though it could break free at any moment.

The path to eternal life now revealed signs of its inevitable demise.

Seemingly confident of his imminent victory, Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth.

But then, just beside her ear, she heard a voice:

"Does the Celestial Sovereign truly believe that I have not already seized control of the Nascent Soul within that Secret Realm?"

Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign's expression changed drastically.

She turned to see that the Emperor of Great Yu had already begun to sneer. From the indistinct Capital City's Secret Realm, a ghostly, blue figure gradually materialized.

Bound upon its form was a Soul-Binding Mother-Child Chain, encircling it like a caged bird imprisoned within unyielding barriers.

At the very moment the Nascent Soul appeared.

Though separated by a vast distance, Yin Weiyin suddenly felt a wrenching pull.

Relying on the Nascent Soul's position, the Soul-Binding Mother-Child Chain swiftly locked onto Yin Weiyin. Like some teleporting specter, it manifested instantly behind her.

The female crown's figure lost all control in that moment. Like a kite with its string abruptly cut, she was dragged backward by the Soul Chain!

The fierce winds howled, their piercing currents stinging her skin as she was yanked forcibly back to the Eternal Path.

In that split second, Yin Weiyin struggled with all her might, yet she was utterly powerless. She was flung harshly onto the Eternal Path once more, the sinister energy of the Soul-Binding Chain gripping her very soul!

Step by agonizing step, it dragged her forward along the Endless Path—toward the roaring, engulfing currents of the Huangquan River, toward the dissipating abyss that unfolded upon the road.

Yu Zhen Celestial Sovereign attempted to intervene, but when the Emperor's giant sword descended once again, her radiant light shattered anew. Her form was blasted far beyond the boundaries of the Ghost City.

Yin Weiyin tried to move backward, but every step only propelled her forward. The radiant light beside her seemed like a death knell, flashing past with an unsettling wail. The once pure blue lotuses now resembled blood-red blossoms of the other shore.

The waters of the Huangquan River spilled ceaselessly across the Eternal Path. Lowering her head, Yin Weiyin saw the chaotic void, reaching out in vain to grasp hold of someone.

Yet the hand she extended was ruthlessly pulled back by the Soul Chain, dragging her further toward her ascension as an Immortal.

Step by step, Yin Weiyin was drawn forward. With every step, her tears overflowed, falling silently, drop by drop.

"Return to me, oh soul!"

On the altar above, the witches clad in vibrant ceremonial robes waved their banners and chanted, bidding farewell to the soul offering.

But Yin Weiyin's consciousness had already begun to fade. She had no idea where she was being pulled. She only felt the chilling waters of the Huangquan River rising around her, soaking into her skin. It was as if her very soul was being slowly extracted from her body.

Her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, as though about to close for the final time, ready to plunge into the cycle of reincarnation, to part ways with this world and journey to the next.

One last time, she looked toward that shattered, chaotic corpse, gazing into the pitch-dark abyss beyond.

Was it an illusion, or merely a dream…

It seemed as though something was struggling to break through layers of unimaginable obstacles.

In the haze of her waning consciousness, she reached out her hand:

"Have you come back?

You promised… we were supposed to be wed…"
