Chapter 623: 0621 Getting to the point [This chapter is additionally sponsored by: Not Yun Suo Le - 7/8]

Staying a night in the Imperial Palace is a rare experience; he informed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and then settled down with peace of mind.

Everything here is the finest in the world, from a tile that reflects a person's image to the pure gold edge designed to prevent injuries during collisions. Every place and everything exudes a nobility and luxury that only the Imperial Family can afford.

In the evening, after returning to his room, he watched TV for a while. The television programs in Gafura were much more open than Lynch had imagined.

In the Federation, adult channels are only allowed to broadcast during specific times and must adhere to strict content requirements, but here, adult channels air twenty-four hours a day. There's not much content control, and what is shown is quite bold.

Lynch was initially shocked; he thought this wasn't very Gafura-like, as it is a monarchy and a rather serious country where such content shouldn't appear on television.

But he quickly understood why. Precisely because this is a monarchy, it exhibits such characteristics.

Activities that are illegal in the Federation are legal here and have developed into a full industry chain, making adult channels seem very normal.

After watching an evening news segment, Lynch went to bed early, needing to be refreshed to face Gafura's monarch and ministers.

In the morning, waking up from a ten-square-meter bed, the maids had already prepared bathwater and a new set of clothes for him. Under their service and guidance, he went to the dining room.

An exclusive dining room; the place where he stayed felt like a separate villa or suite with a full set of various rooms. At that moment, he was enjoying a breakfast that others could seldom eat—the Royal breakfast.

He ate slowly, reading some newspapers along the way. Gafura's newspapers were a bit more interesting than those of the Federation, with more political news rather than the Federation's dominance by capitalist and entertainment news.

Though he found it interesting, the attendant serving him seemed somewhat... restless.

"You seem a bit uneasy?" Lynch leisurely ate his exquisite breakfast.

The attendant shook his head with a smile, "No, Mr. Lynch."

"Am I taking too long with breakfast?" He glanced at his wrist; it seemed to be just about twenty minutes, but from the attendant's forced smile, it was clear that they indeed felt his breakfast was too long.

This also meant that the Emperor and ministers were waiting for him and were eager to meet with him—the Majors had accomplished their mission.

With a smile, he popped the last bite of food into his mouth. The breakfast prepared by the chef was very sumptuous, especially the paste made for spreading on bread, primarily made of lamb liver and fish oil.

Consuming it offered none of the gritty texture usually associated with lamb liver; instead, it was smooth and silky like animal fat when solidified, neither fishy nor gamey.

The seasoning was also nice, with a hint of a milky aroma, and with the food, it left a special savory aftertaste in the mouth.

After finishing the last bit of soup, Lynch dabbed the residue from his lips and mouth corners with a napkin and stood up, "Alright, we can go!"

The attendant breathed a sigh of relief; Lynch had taken longer to eat breakfast than the Emperor, and now the Emperor and the nobles were all waiting for Lynch. The idea of Lynch leisurely eating breakfast made the attendant quite anxious.

While people might not blame Lynch, they might put blame on him, like accusing him of not reminding Lynch that breakfast time had long passed.

When the big figures wanted to vent their dissatisfaction, people like him had no room to resist.

Fortunately, Lynch finally finished.

After walking through several corridors, the attendant led him to the Ruler's Hall, where the Emperor sat high on the steps. Upon seeing Lynch enter, the initial impatience on the Emperor's face immediately vanished, and his gaze seemed a bit flickering.

"Your Majesty, gentlemen, good morning!"

The people returned Lynch's greeting. The nobles were indeed arrogant, but they also followed some rules, even the Emperor acknowledged Lynch with a nod.

Pointing to one of the seats, he said, "This is your seat, Lynch. Here, we are not accustomed to anyone standing and speaking to us."

After thanking, Lynch sat down, and an attendant brought him coffee and a few exquisite little pastries.

Lynch briefly observed elsewhere; almost every minister had a small round table beside them with a cup of coffee or herbal tea and some pastries.

A very intriguing experience!

"Last night, the Governor of Amelia already called me, informing me that your people have captured Haiyan, and the organization he belonged to has been destroyed. He was very surprised..."

"But amidst his surprise, he also asked me a question: How did you achieve this?"

In fact, the Governor of Amelie never asked him this question; it was the Emperor who wanted to ask it himself, "As far as I know, the Federation has no investment projects in Amelia, and it's rare to see your people there. How do you grasp the local situation so well and capture such a vicious rebel leader?"

"I, along with all the courtiers, share a similar doubt: how do your people know where these individuals are hiding and manage to annihilate them so swiftly?"

"Perhaps, you had contacts with them beforehand, correct?"

Calming down from his excitement, the Emperor soon noticed a problem: Lynch's people could resolve issues with such precision and speed, indicating they seemed to know the circumstances of these individuals.

This inevitably leads to further speculation, such as the long-standing claim that the Federation people are the strongest backers behind these resistance groups. It's precisely due to the Federation's involvement that Amelia Region has deteriorated to the current state.

These resistance groups received stable supplies, acquired firearms, ammunition, and even explosives, which made them more aggressive.

During the previous period, although conflicts were ongoing, they were minor skirmishes. The local resistance groups did not have weapons; at most, they would use knives to slit the throats of patrols at night.

But once they had weapons, the conflicts rapidly escalated.

Before Lynch's arrival, the Emperor and ministers already had some discussions in this regard and concluded one point: Lynch might be the covert supporter behind some resistance groups.

Now that Lynch was here, the Emperor posed the question.

He looked at Lynch, unable to discern any emotions. Regardless of how Lynch responded, he could quickly find ways to refute Lynch, which added a knowing smile to his face.

But this time, things did not go as he wished. Lynch did not refute this claim and admitted it openly.

"We indeed have some contact, Your Majesty. I do not deny this."

Lynch spoke openly, but the Emperor was at a loss for words. It was like an angry husband catching his wife's lover who was already dressed and sternly asking, did you do it? The lover responded, yes, bringing a speechless shock.

Won't you even try to explain, just straightforwardly admit it like this? How does this place me?

Fortunately, the ministers reacted quickly, with one minister asking discontentedly, "Do you know what you're saying, Mr. Lynch? You're supporting those rebel organizations, which is a serious crime!"

"That is only serious for you!", Lynch showed no fear towards the minister's accusation, looking at the Emperor seated high on the throne, "Your Majesty, you know I am a merchant, and a merchant's duty is trade."

"I sell what the Federation has to those in need and earn from them; this is my job!"

"I would never engage in anything illegal according to Federation laws. I can swear by the Lord that all my business in the Federation is lawful and protected by law."

"We cannot simply apply the laws and rules of one country to two politically, socially, and culturally distinct nations; it is unfair and unjust."

"Furthermore, I'm not the only one doing this. I've heard that behind the Pretton Pirate Group is the Gafura's Minister of the Navy..."

The Emperor suddenly coughed. Everyone knows things like this; there's no need to spell it out explicitly, as it would only lead to embarrassment for everyone.

Using Pretton was the demand of the situation. The Gafura Empire was not conveniently able to send the Navy openly to scout the seas and coastlines of some countries, so Pretton provided convenience.

They could act as pirates, attacking ports to gauge the location of coastal artillery and the defensive forces of the ports, or transform into spies to infiltrate and sabotage.

But this cannot be openly discussed; a military power supporting pirates... is not only unpleasant to hear but also offends everyone around.

This precisely explains Lynch's connection with some resistance groups in the Amelia Region. Like he said, he's a merchant who doesn't care about the other party in trade; as long as they have money, he'll sell his goods, all legally.

Lynch ceased his speech amid the Emperor's coughing; he had achieved his goal.

"Let's forget about past happenings. The Governor of Amelia has praised your subordinates highly. I saw what you intended to show me yesterday, so we can now discuss the ensuing matters..."

The Emperor initially intended to act out but ultimately found no opportunity. Lynch is a reasonable man, and as Emperor, if he doesn't act reasonably he'll be looked down upon by Lynch.

Moreover, this is indeed not the time to debate right or wrong. Lynch has shown willingness to solve problems for the Empire, which is most crucial.

"If I hire your people to resolve Amelia Province's security issues, what cost would I need to pay?"
