World-saving Plan: The Only Savior

Chapter 215: A Shady Inn?

"What did you say!"

Upon hearing the waiter's words, Yan Jiantong immediately changed his expression, casting a hostile glance at him.

This waiter was truly insolent, daring to disrespect Master Liu.

In his view, if the words were directed at him alone, he wouldn't care.

But the fact that the other dared to treat Master Liu with such disdain and even uttered words akin to seeking death was simply an insult to him as a disciple.

Sensing Yan Jiantong's emotion, Master Liu gently patted his shoulder, indicating he shouldn't react too strongly, and only then did Yan Jiantong forcefully halt his actions.

The unsuspecting waiter was startled by his shout.

He turned his head and looked at Yan Jiantong in bafflement, muttering to himself:

"What's going on... such loud noise... scared me... people nowadays really aren't afraid of death, shouting like this without fearing it'll attract a monster..."

But perhaps because he'd been frightened, he didn't dare say it out loud, only whispered under his breath so faintly that only he could hear.

Yan Jiantong glanced at him with disdain but didn't say anything more.

The commotion at the door immediately attracted other guests in the inn, who emerged one after another from the rooms upstairs.

"What's happening! What's happening! Why are you shouting here!?"

A plump middle-aged man came running over, lowering his voice to ask everyone.

"Wang San! What exactly are you doing! Why did you let people in!?"

The middle-aged shopkeeper fixed his gaze on Pei Laoliu and his men, seeming particularly unhappy that the waiter had let them inside.

At this point, several other guests also cast unfriendly glances, seeming very resistant to the newcomers.

"Shopkeeper, I really had no choice! These people were constantly knocking at the door outside, with a 'bang bang bang' sound! If I didn't open the door, what if it attracted a monster!"

The waiter explained, looking innocent.

The other guests, hearing this, became even more dissatisfied, with a few burly ones slowly gathering around.

Fatty Shopkeeper also started observing the group, but in contrast, he didn't show any signs of rejection like the others; instead, he chuckled and said:

"Alright, alright, it's all a misunderstanding. With demons rampant outside, friends can come in as they please, given the season, it's not easy traveling. Let's just be considerate of each other."

The others saw the shopkeeper smoothing things over and, though still reluctant, said nothing more.

Master Liu, meanwhile, led his group to find an empty spot and sat down, pouring himself a cup of tea as if they were the only ones there.

"I didn't expect the situation in Han Yue City to be worse than we imagined, to the point where no one dares to step outside; those demons really are brazen."

"Indeed, no wonder we didn't see any City Guard Army patrolling as we walked through the streets, not even citizens. Could it be that Lord Bai has already fallen victim to monsters?"

Li Qiang chimed in.

"Heh, from what I know, the place Master Liu mentioned where the demonic aura is strongest is the City Lord Mansion. You might be right; Lord Bai might be struggling to protect himself now."

Yan Jiantong spoke while also pouring Master Liu some tea.

The three discussed among themselves, showing no signs of fear or concern.

Only Li Mu, who was always taciturn, did not participate in the conversation but listened intently, his face flushed as his master and senior brothers talked about the monster matters.

"Shopkeeper, what do we do now? Our food is already limited, and with these people joining in, we won't last more than a few days!"

The waiter looked anxiously at the group, whispering to Fatty Shopkeeper.

Unexpectedly, the seemingly amiable shopkeeper suddenly changed his demeanor, shouting angrily:

"Enough! Stop babbling, I decide who stays, not you! Quickly, go ask if they want to eat anything and have the kitchen prepare!"

The waiter glanced at him in disbelief.

He couldn't understand why the shopkeeper was acting so unusually today.

But since he was only an employee, with the boss having spoken, he could only comply.

Fatty Shopkeeper was not only the inn's manager but also its owner, so he actually established this business himself.

Meanwhile, Pei Laoliu and others discussed the monster-related matters, somewhat surprised to find the waiter eagerly approaching them to ask if they wanted to order food.

Feeling hungry, even though it wasn't lunchtime yet, they had started early today without breakfast, so they ordered several large Baozi.

Yan Jiantong glanced thoughtfully at the shopkeeper, then whispered something to Master Liu, leaving him perplexed.

"Alright, please wait awhile, I'll get everything ready for you!"

The waiter habitually said this before heading towards the kitchen.

Once this scene unfolded, other guests immediately grabbed the waiter by the clothes, angrily demanding:
