"There's no road ahead, you're not suggesting we jump, are you?"
The road ends at a canyon, the depths of which are unfathomable. Li Ze threw a stone down, but there was no echo for a long while.
It's evident how deep the canyon is, immeasurable.
"Of course we have to jump; it's the only way. Do you think people who've come this far have a chance to turn back?"
Lonely Wolf and the others will soon catch up; he and Zhou Xun are not good people. Since their power alone can handle an immortal beast, why bring so much dead weight?
At the cliff, the role of those burdens is as scouts, just like Tang Rao and the others—you'll eventually be used as sacrifices.
"Can you see what's below? The bottom, I mean."
Wang He couldn't see anything—there was too much mist below, and the potential dangers were a complete mystery to him.
"Can't see."
Tang Rao confessed the truth frankly.
"Exactly, places with secrets generally aren't visible."
The more perilous the place, the more Tang Rao wanted to go. Such a vast canyon with nothing in it would be a shame for this Cave Heaven Blessed Land.
"Everyone knows that principle. The key is how we get down there. I'm the weakest; if I go down, I'll be smashed to bits, right?"
Li Ze had tried bungee jumping for thrills, but jumping into a canyon like this was another matter he still couldn't bring himself to do.
"Immortal Energy Protection, slow down—at the Immortal Emperor level, it's quite simple actually."
Hehehehe.
Li Ze touched his conscience and gave Tang Rao a smile.
If it were really that easy, I wouldn't be scared like this.
"Why don't you guys go down, and I'll slowly climb down these trees?"
"Ah!"
Tang Rao couldn't allow Li Ze another word; with a quick grab, Li Ze was pulled down with Tang Rao.
Old He, brave and unwilling to be outdone, also followed them down.
"Boss, it sounded like our three scouts ahead; could something have happened to them?"
Zhou Xun had heard the scream just now—a scream that didn't sound staged.
"No problem; even if something happened, so what? We have plenty of other scouts; we can always find a new one."
Lonely Wolf was at the front, with a few of his own men trailing behind. Those behind him were angry when looking at Lonely Wolf.
Clearly, someone who thrived outside ends up in the Land of Immortals and fares no better than a dog.
They were recklessly used as scouts, as test subjects; the scream from earlier still echoed in their ears as they thought the nightmare was about to end.
Never did they consider, the nightmare was just beginning.
"Boss, those three are gone!"
At the cliff edge, Zhou Xun saw there was no path ahead, nor anywhere nearby to escape to; the only possibility for the trio was to have fallen off the cliff.
"The cliff, they surely fell off."
Lonely Wolf glanced at the footprints around, easily finding the cause.
"But the cliff is so high; can they survive the fall?"
Zhou Xun, who should be considered strong, looked at the cliff's height, and couldn't imagine jumping down and still surviving.
Lonely Wolf shared the exact same thoughts as Zhou Xun.
"They must have lost their footing and fallen. Even for me, jumping off such a high cliff wouldn't ensure survival."
Lonely Wolf shared this truth with everyone. Aside from him, when others at the cliff edge took a look, some immediately crushed their Jade, leaving the Ice and Snow World.
The trial's outcome was important, but life was more so than the trial result.
Life lost, and truly everything is gone.
"These cowards."
So many leaving now had a significant impact on Lonely Wolf's authority. If he suggested jumping to test the waters again, it's likely everyone except his own gang would choose to smash their Jade and flatly refuse to continue this trial.
"Boss, are we still jumping?"
Zhou Xun sought Lonely Wolf's opinion.
"Jump, of course, we have to jump, or how else will we capture the immortal beast?"
Lonely Wolf glanced at the cliff and steeled himself to jump first.
The rest had those who followed and those who continued to give up.
Below the cliff, Tang Rao and the two were floating on water, having been knocked unconscious for quite some time.
"Bastard, that really hurt."
Tang Rao was the first to wake. He felt as though his body had been shattered and reassembled.
"Elder, Li Ze, how are you two doing?"
Li Ze was a Beast Soul User, so he shouldn't be easily killed. Old He was stronger than Tang Rao; if not for being slightly older, he wouldn't have been unconscious as long as Tang Rao.
There was no response from them.
"I'll give each of you an Elixir Pill; swallow them, and I promise they'll make you feel great."
Tang Rao remembered he still had a few Elixir Pills to repair meridians and immediately took them out to feed the two.
The Elixir Pills melted upon entry and flowed straight through their throats.
"Li Ze and Old He slowly opened their eyes at the same time."
What met their eyes was a sea of lush green. Below the mist, it was like a paradise hidden away.
The entire canyon was lush, and the fragrance of blooming flowers pervaded it all.
"Truly beautiful. If only a woman turned up, dude, don't mention how good life would be then."
Tang Rao smacked his lips twice.
A beauty jumped down from the tree.
"A beauty? Do I count?"
Flower Lady wore a light green wrapped dress, with a circle of small flowers pinned at the hem, fresh but not wilting, as if they grew from her figure.
"She's beautiful, oh lady, may I ask where this place is?"
Tang Rao had a trait: he couldn't bear to blink when seeing a woman, and when seeing a beauty, countless topics sprang up in his mind to chat with her about.
"This is the Deep Canyon; who are you?"
There wasn't a hint of killing intent from Flower Lady, but Tang Rao felt she wasn't as simple as she seemed. A woman in hiding in the Deep Canyon certainly had an extraordinary story.
"We are here for a trial. We were looking for a path and accidentally fell into this Deep Canyon."
Obviously, they jumped down deliberately, yet they claimed to have accidentally fallen to evoke sympathy?
Li Ze looked at him with disdain.
Making up lies when seeing beauties was Tang Rao's innate gift.
"I see, but this Deep Canyon is a one-way trip; I fear you'll be disappointed."
Flower Lady sighed deeply; if she could, she wouldn't be confined here for years.
"What? A one-way trip?"
Though Flower Lady's demeanor didn't seem deceitful, Tang Rao believed in cause and effect in everything—if there's an entrance, there must be a way out.
"Little Fairy, can we wander around freely in here? You see, we fell in, and now we have no chance to leave—we at least should die informed, right?"
Bah, Tang Rao wouldn't die in here; he had so many women waiting in the Kao Shan Sect. If he truly couldn't leave, he'd have no way to explain to the ones at home.
"Of course, go ahead and wander—just don't go to the back mountain, anywhere else is fine."
Flower Lady generously allowed.
"Thank you, we definitely won't go there, definitely not."
