Mage Legend

Chapter 616: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Seventy-Four Return (Part 2)_3

Lynch looked at Bel and found that his body was unintentionally blocking the direction of the Teleportation Gate. He understood very well what the Hell Lord wanted—since he could accurately call out Bel's True Name, there was no reason he wouldn't know the names of the other lords. It was even possible that he had mastered the title of the King of Hell. According to legend, Bel is the only devil ever to overthrow his superior and successfully ascend to become a lord, which means his ambition and cunning are exceptional. Now, all he needs is an opportunity to bring Bator Hell, which has become increasingly stagnant, back to life.

The Mage could naturally ignore Bel's request completely; he only needed to give one order to make the lord clear the way. But doing so would undoubtedly draw Bel's constant attention in the future. The only way to completely avoid this trouble would be to focus his attention on the power struggle. Battles between Devil Lords usually last tens of thousands of years, and anything that far into the future does not concern Lynch.

"I can't tell you the True Name of the highest one." Lynch took the bag into his hand and gently squeezed it, which counted as agreeing to this deal. He said, "I don't want to cause too much trouble, and what's inside this bag will only buy you another lord's name. Among all the other guys, the one trapped in ice, unable to move, poses the least threat to me."

Lynch helped Eryies stand up, then whispered a name in Bel's ear. The lord's eyes flickered, and the light of excitement was as bright as stars. Lynch finally said, "If you make good use of this information, it will definitely benefit you greatly."

Bel stepped aside, bowing as if to a king, respectfully seeing Lynch off. The Mage, holding the Desire Demon, kept his balance with the Magic Wand and his mind. As he walked towards the Teleportation Gate, his mind recalled the full details of Bator Hell's nine layers.

The last expression Lynch left on the first layer of Bator Hell was a strange smile hanging at the corner of his mouth.

The Mage didn't return directly to Anriel. Instead, he spread the True Names of the lords to several corners of Bator Hell. Although the devils who now possess these names are unlikely to threaten the lords — their power is still insufficient to wield the strength of the True Names — Lynch has already sown seeds in their hearts. One day, under the nourishment of ambition and desire, these seeds will eventually grow into towering trees, bearing chaotic flowers in Hell.

If the decryptor still has no way to get out of that place, at least Lynch has avenged all the devils for him. Lynch is very reluctant for such a thing to happen, but he also understands that for the decryptor, that cage is indeed the safest place in the world.

Who knows how many years have passed, or how many times these names have been traded and passed on before they finally took effect. The devils fell back into civil war, where the lords focused on mutual slaughter more than on the spoils of the Blood War. A new order and balance were established in constant campaigns — an order established under the oppressive power of the King of Hell.

No longer speaking of such a distant future, we turn our attention back to the present. Just as Bel was smug and exceptionally excited, Lynch had finished his work as "the Gardener," and now he had to forcefully traverse through the sealed wall of space, back to Anriel World.

This was a hard journey, as Lynch seemed to be placed in a boundless maze. It was pitch dark here; vision and hearing lost their function, and even touch became very faint. Following the decryptor's method, Lynch used spells one by one, first breaking through the spatial limits with his spell capabilities, then summoning himself and Eryies over. Except for a few dangerous worlds, the linkage and flow of Magic Power would not be forbidden, which is how one breaks through space.

The taste of "being summoned by oneself" was quite unpleasant, and it took Lynch a long moment to regain consciousness from the dizziness and to reclaim control of his body. According to the decryptor, such dizziness usually takes several days to dissipate, during which time the walker is defenseless, which can bring great danger. He also mentioned that only those with strong willpower could shorten this process. Lynch was glad he didn't have to wait foolishly for recovery in a coma.
