Mage Legend

Chapter 621: Legend and Legend in Legends Chapter Two Night Banquet

The All-Knowing Tower trembled and hovered above Lynch's head, its massive shadow completely obscuring half the sky. The storm protection around the outermost part of the fortress was entirely shut, so it hadn't caused any damage to the surroundings. A shadow dove down from the tower, spiraled twice, and flew straight towards Lynch.

"Brother Lynch!" Little Angel Soka, capitalizing on her unmatched flying speed among them all, was the first to appear in Lynch's sight. In the mage's impression, Soka was still a little girl who hadn't grown much, even the force of her pounce was bearable. But as those white wings grew larger in his eyes, "Eagle Wing" was no longer sufficient to describe their size, "Griffin Wings" was more appropriate. Lynch smiled wryly, thinking his frail body couldn't afford to be dismantled upon their first meeting.

Just like the scene on the Erutalon River, this time Soka suddenly lost all her speed amid a dizzy spell. She blinked and found herself stopped right in front of Lynch.

"You've grown quite a lot, Soka." Lynch said with a smile, "Seems like you've been doing well these days, at least eating well. Kiddo, I don't really understand the angelic growth process. Tell me, what is this? Some sort of angelic adolescent growth spurt?"

"Hmph!" Soka wrinkled her nose and made a playful face, annoyed. "Brother Lynch, you've been missing for so long, where exactly did you go to have fun?"

"Fun? I wasn't that leisurely." Lynch glanced up at the tower above and chanted a spell to pack up everything used for camping on the ground. "So many unbelievable things happened over these three years, I'll tell you about them slowly."

"Alright, alright! You better not back out!" Soka circled around behind Lynch, jumped onto the mage's back, and tightly grabbed hold of his body with her limbs. Although she wasn't short anymore, the angel weighed barely anything. It's said that most of their bones, like those of birds soaring in the sky, are hollow in the middle.

Lynch always exuded a peculiar aroma, which was caused by the magic materials he carried. At first, the scent seemed strange and unsettling—especially when one knew it included ingredients like bat guano and lizard intestines. However, after spending some time with the mage, one would grow fond of the aroma.

Soka lay on Lynch's shoulder, noticing that the mage had grown considerably stronger over the past three years. Though still lean, his muscles no longer appeared emaciated. Through the robes, the reassuring warmth he emanated was distinctly felt. This time, the little angel would no longer let this brother, who often told her captivating stories, slip away. She wriggled upwards, wrapped her arms around his neck, pressed her little face against the mage's ear, and spread her wings behind her.

"Time to fly." Soka said softly. She gave her wings a light flap, observing Lynch's slightly unsteady demeanor, finding it a bit amusing. But before the mage could reach out and tap her forehead to scold this mischievous angel, Soka was already soaring halfway up in the air.

"You better not pull any stunts." Lynch had intended to take flight himself, but it wasn't bad to have some help.

"Is it like this?" Soka immediately flipped over, then rotated sideways, tracing a graceful arc in the air. "Don't worry, Brother Lynch, I won't do it." The angel laughed gleefully.

'If it were Norton fetching me, this wouldn't happen.' Lynch thought, feeling the softness of the angel's body behind him.

Fortunately, the distance wasn't very far, and with the angel's speed, they soon landed on the solid ground of the tower. This made Lynch feel much more secure. The floating disc carrying Eryies quickly followed, catching the angel's attention. Soka slipped down from the mage's back, bouncing over to the Desire Demon's side.

Lynch suddenly remembered something - angels and devils are natural foes, just like elves and Dark Elves. He had always thought of Soka as the little kid from before, never considering the effects of her growth.

"Why are this sister's wings black?" Soka asked, curiously poking Eryies with her small hand, "And she's asleep, not waking up. Brother Lynch, who is she?"
