Mage Legend

Chapter 623: Legendary and Legends in Legends Chapter Two Night Banquet_3

Soka never had much interest in alcohol and meat, but dancing and listening to jokes were her favorite activities. Under Morgan's cajoling, Soka began to try roasting apples over the bonfire, with a focused demeanor no less serious than when she was in battle.

Although the enthusiasm of the dwarves was hard to resist, Lynch was somewhat absent-minded. After a brief conversation with Barrend, where he learned about the dwarves living in the All-Knowing Tower, he wanted to find an excuse to slip away quickly.

Soka happened to come over with a charred apple to confront Morgan, but the Red Beard dwarf claimed it was because Soka was clumsy and not skilled, not his fault. The bickering between the two of them drew the attention of most of the dwarves, providing the mage with an opportunity to leave. Lynch grabbed a few pieces of grilled meat from the side, cast the Invisibility Technique, and vanished into the night.

Norton quietly followed him, able to sense the mage's location; even invisibility couldn't hide from him. The mage and the sphere ascended the countless steps of the All-Knowing Tower, climbing deeper into the city.

"Norton, you've grown up." The mage dispelled the spell and said softly. Behind them, the laughter and chatter of the dwarves continued, becoming more ethereal in the night. Lynch looked at the All-Knowing Tower, admiring the beauty of the place; many of the floral decorations matched his aesthetic preferences, and it was all undoubtedly Norton's handiwork.

The demon statue swayed its body, its metal tentacles gently tapping each other. "Actually, Norton did very little."

Lynch was slightly surprised and said to Norton, "I didn't expect you'd understand humility and a little shyness so quickly. You've indeed learned a lot. But let me test you, how can I quietly find Zilvra's room?"

Norton tilted its body, a tentacle stroking its smooth head back and forth. "Zilvra's room is in the tallest tower, but I won't say anything more."

Lynch stopped walking, pretending to be angry at the demon statue. Norton also halted its flying motion, its shining round gemstone eyes looking at the mage. Suddenly, it turned and flew down the stairs, all its tentacles raised high, shouting, "Norton suddenly remembered, there's still a lot to do. Master, you'd better go by yourself..."

Lynch smiled, watching all this with satisfaction. The little demon statue was gradually developing its own thinking; it could now think and handle matters entirely independently. He turned and continued upwards, his red robe lightly sweeping over the smooth stone steps without picking up a speck of dust. He did not use flight, nor did he use spiritual power to let himself float; now he was experiencing the feeling of walking.

Lynch felt that walking up these steps with his own feet was a very meaningful endeavor. Moreover, doing so gave him ample time to ponder issues before meeting Zilvra. How had that rebellious Drow been living these past three years, and did she feel lonely on the tower?

A crescent moon hung on the edge of the sky, casting down its bright light from the gaps in the clouds. Today was the dimmest moonlit day in the Anriel World, with only the "weak moon," representing sleep, appearing in the sky. The autumn temperature was slightly low, and although his mage robe kept the temperature constant, the feeling of cold water droplets on his face made Lynch feel that he desperately needed warmth.

The center of the tower was enveloped in darkness, as serene as a nighttime library, with only the sound of the night breeze gently flicking through pages. Lynch's soft boots left no sound on the ground, yet his magic wand lightly tapped the steps. 'Since it's impossible to hide from the dark elf's ears anyway, why bother concealing my presence?' Lynch thought as he imagined Zilvra's current expression; this kind of game-like action was very amusing.

"Lynch, you've woken me up." A voice came from a room higher up, sweet yet chilling, like a candy encased in ice. "Have you gained weight? Your footsteps sound so heavy," she said.

The distance wasn't far. Lynch calculated in his mind.

A soft white glow spread from the tip of the magic wand. The mage controlled its brightness so that the light wouldn't hurt anyone's eyes. Although the Eye of Insight offered him unparalleled vision, the mage now preferred to see with his naked eyes.
