Mage Legend

Chapter 696: Legends and the Legends in Legends Chapter Twenty-Three Relics_4

"It's impossible to pass through this barrier." He conjured a block of ice out of thin air and threw it onto his reddening left hand, hastily cooling it down. "I don't have that kind of power, and the serpent couldn't possibly have the knowledge and skills to break this barrier. Everyone, stay back. The barrier will annihilate anything that comes near."

"So, the Magic God is indeed here?" Soka asked.

"No, he is not here." With Zilvra's help, Lynch got up, not taking the Magic Wand offered by the Angel, but instead summoning a silver Magic sphere in his right hand: "I'm still not sure what relation the two spheres inside have with this one of mine."

"Lynch! Summon the Light Sphere again!" Zilvra, who had been watching the interior of the barrier, suddenly said to Lynch.

"Alright, no problem." Lynch complied and followed Zilvra's gaze inward. At the moment the Light Sphere lit up, a faint layer of the barrier emerged between the two spheres.

"What is that?" Lynch repeated the action several times but still couldn't clearly see those things. Everyone exchanged glances. If the Mage didn't understand, then even less so could anyone else.

Lynch looked at the silver Light Sphere in his hand, the connection point empowered by the Magic Origin that granted him nearly infinite mana. In just an instant, he seemed to understand the correlation.

"Step back, everyone. I'm going to use a Legendary Level Spell. The intrinsic pressure of such a Spell is incredibly strong." Lynch looked at Soka and the Eryies, with the Angel and Devil's bodies having stronger protective abilities in this situation. The Mage said, "You two, focus on protecting the others."

Spells flowed continuously from Lynch's lips, gathering the power of Magic towards him, leaping vigorously between his hands. The blue light on the marble column became dazzling, leaving no shadow unexposed in every corner. The roar resonated throughout the entire cave, but Lynch was cautious not to let the power cause any substantial damage.

The two spheres indeed underwent significant changes. One became increasingly bright, pulsating like a heart, expanding and contracting, constantly emitting silver rays, absorbed by the barrier between the two spheres. Unlike those Elemental Powers, it would not reach the other side.

This time, Lynch finally saw clearly the composition of the barrier. With just a glance, he understood what was written on it. The barrier was none other than the five Secret Scrolls he was all too familiar with.

Slowly, Lynch extinguished the Spell, and the tremors in the cave gradually subsided. When everything around calmed, Lynch slowly said, "It all was just part of his plan."

The Mage found the nearest broken column to sit on, bent his back, and supported his head with his hand, as if all the strength had left him when the five scrolls were revealed. His companions gathered around him, looking at the Mage with some concern.

Lynch coughed harshly, expelling the dirty air—possibly along with resentment—from his lungs. He looked grudgingly at the oval platform, his lips trembling yet speaking no words.

"What's going on, really?" Zilvra patted the Mage's shoulder, bringing his attention back to his companions around him: "Speak!"

"The one desiring the Magic God's power is not the serpent." Lynch said slowly: "The Magic God is plotting his own revival."

"That would bring destruction," he said finally, "this destruction will be executed either by my hand or his."
