Mage Legend

Chapter 723: Legends and the Legends in Legends Chapter Twenty-Nine Old Guest_3

The female Drow extended her finger, and the ring engraved with the Black Dragon pattern was particularly striking on her fair finger. Deluo gasped, but his body gradually calmed down, "So that's how it is, I understand now."

Zilvra turned to Lynch, her silvery white curls bouncing playfully on her shoulders. "Lynch, do you know where Soka has gone?"

"She should have gone back to the Observatory Tower by now," Lynch replied. "You shouldn't be too hard on the little girl. She's not grown up yet."

"That's my concern." Zilvra passed by Lynch, gently exhaling a breath of fragrance near the mage's ear. "You shouldn't be preoccupied with the affairs of the Mage Association all the time. You should have those slaves serve you instead."

Watching Zilvra's figure gradually fade into the distance, Deluo finally relaxed completely. Without the threat of the giant dragon's aura, he returned to being his optimistic self. Under the astonished gaze of a few Mage Apprentices, Deluo forcefully patted Lynch on the shoulder, prompting the apprentices to quickly lower their heads, clutching the books in their arms, and hastily pass through the hall. Deluo remained oblivious to these actions, instead loudly declaring, "Lynch, you should learn to enjoy life, especially with a woman like Zilvra by your side. Like me, even when the entire militia—myself included—was tormented by hunger, I never forgot to relax!"

"I'm not like you," Lynch shook his head with a wry smile. Those apprentices might be discussing these matters behind his back, talking about this youngest Great Mage in history and his "romantic story" with the Drow woman. He could already imagine how future books would describe him, and how Zilvra, who repeatedly tried to assassinate the head of the association—"their relationship sparked in constant clashes and defenses."

But just as Lynch was pondering these things, Deluo turned and was no longer by the mage's side. He jogged to stop a dwarf passing through the hall, then pulled a beautiful little flower from his pocket. This time of year, fresh flowers could only be found at the All-Knowing Tower. The warrior must have appropriated these flowers while passing by the nursery.

"Oh, beautiful lady, you have deeply captivated me," Deluo suddenly said tenderly, while the dwarf in front of him seemed quite surprised. Although it was well known that Deluo would become like this when he saw a beauty, Lynch couldn't imagine the philanderer suddenly offering a flower to a dwarf.

Especially when dwarves all have beards.

"Though you strive to conceal your natural beauty, my heart's eye has opened for you, and it never lies to me," Deluo continued. "When it strikes a passionate beat in my fiery chest, please forgive my rash, impulsive, and somewhat childish behavior—for compared to the deep affection contained within this flower, they are nothing."

"Deluo! What are you doing?" Recalling Deluo's antics in Dwarf City, Lynch quickly approached. He saw the dwarf was already trembling slightly. The mage grabbed the warrior by the shoulder, then said to the dwarf, "Sorry, my friend just arrived from below and isn't aware yet..."

Then the dwarf looked up, meeting Lynch's eyes, and the mage felt he had seen those clear eyes somewhere before. She lowered her head again and calmly said, "Lynch, it's nothing."

Deluo was somewhat dissatisfied and said, "Mage, I'm not harassing this lady. You should know my sense of smell is never wrong! Are you going to stop me from expressing my feelings?"

Lynch released his grip, causing the struggling Deluo to stumble slightly. He said, "I think you weren't mistaken this time. This dwarf lady, where have you heard my name? Because I've never seen you before."

"My kin have told me about you, so I know your name," the dwarf replied. "It's very difficult for tall humans to recognize female dwarves' appearances. We have met before, actually."

"No, I'm quite sure we haven't met. I know every dwarf's face atop the All-Knowing Tower, but not yours." Lynch became wary, and his tone alerted Deluo. "Who exactly are you?"

The dwarf shook her head and sighed. Her voice transformed from a muffled tone to a gentle breeze in an early autumn forest. The dwarf's figure suddenly blurred, with numerous images overlapping, making it difficult for Lynch to grasp which one was the true form. Amid Deluo's exclamations, the dwarf grew taller and her robust figure became slender and graceful. When the transformation stabilized, the stunning elf from Heather Lake stood before the two men. Lynch blurted out, "Cerinsan, is that you? How did you manage to evade my spells?"
