Anything strange inherently holds deeper meaning, and Lynch has always believed that. Since the Five Realms Fortress in the north is particularly difficult to crack, the Snake-man won't accomplish much there, so the Great Snake is likely to look for another opportunity. Those strange stone monuments that suddenly appeared might be his next move.
"From now on, I will take the initiative to strike." Lynch said to Zilvra, "Since the Great Snake wants me to partake in this war, then I'll give him war."
"I've been waiting for you to say that for a long time," Zilvra's lips curled slightly upwards, and an excited glimmer appeared in her eyes. "If I stay here any longer, I'm afraid I might die of boredom. So, Lynch, have you decided on a course of action?"
"First, I need to make a trip to Sacred Pate to let the Light Temple truly recognize the current grave situation. Then, I'll go check out those strange stone monuments," Lynch said. "If the Pate Temple is left with nothing but fools, I must at least ensure that Wislin can act freely without restraints."
Zilvra licked her lips, drawing closer to Lynch's body. She pressed her chest against the mage's robes and reached a hand out to caress the lines of his face. "Lynch, your little paladin friend is surely going to be heartbroken. I never show mercy to the priests of the Light God. Honestly, I can't wait to set off!"
"Promise me, Zilvra: act only after I give you the signal." Lynch, enjoying the warmth of the female Drow, replied, "Although I hope to avoid conflict, this journey seems to be filled with endless troubles."
"Who else are you planning to take along?" Zilvra winked, and as she spoke, a faint fragrance wafted into Lynch's nostrils. The mage felt his body temperature rising and quickly shook his head to stay clear-headed. The female Drow chuckled lightly and said, "Besides Soka, there's also that dangerous Desire Demon Eryies by your side, and I spotted a strikingly beautiful elf girl in the tower. My Great Mage, don't tell me they're not related to you."
"It is indeed related to me. Zilvra, the elf you saw is none other than Princess Yilinrui, the Elf Princess," Lynch said. "If there's something I'm good at besides magic, it's never hiding the truth from you."
"However, my dear Great Mage, you seem to have forgotten one fact." Zilvra's disdainful smile reappeared. "Yilinrui is an elf, and I am a Dark Elf. Additionally, it's been a long time since I've tasted the pleasure brought by the surface kin's painful struggles."
"Haha, you really know how to joke," Lynch said, patting Zilvra's head, his fingers threading through her hair. "My dear, you are not merely a Dark Elf. You have one identity, which is being with me, the Legendary Mage. Go pack your things; this time, it's just the two of us setting out."
Zilvra tossed her head, seemingly annoyed by the mage's head-patting gesture. She certainly did not want to be treated like a pet or little girl. Moreover, this action always reminded her of her sister, Soka. Zilvra moved away from Lynch, with whom she had been closely pressed against, and prodded his heart with her forefinger. "Why not even tell Soka? That little one will be very, very sad."
"I can only leave her a letter explaining the situation but cannot take her along." Lynch sighed, "We must realize, our opponent this time is the Pate Temple. Even if Soka is docile, she can't possibly attack those priests."
"True enough," Zilvra nodded. "It's precisely those disgusting codes of conduct restraining Soka, keeping her from being shrewd. If we're going to teach those hypocritical priests a lesson, why not let the Desire Demon lend a hand?"
"Zilvra, the more questions you ask now, the less time we have on the road," Lynch said, picking up the Arcane Wand. "Are you ready to set off or not?"
So, after finishing the Stealth Magic Array, Lynch set off lightly with Zilvra, heading north with their carry-on luggage. He entrusted most of the tasks to the Demon Statue Norton because the little guy was not only loyal and reliable but could tirelessly handle matters at the All-Knowing Tower. With Princess Yilinrui and his mentor Caso present, Lynch could leave without worry.
