Avahni sat several hundred metres up the river, where the waters had grown almost still, far away from the sounds of crackling embers or murmured whispers. Although Avahni just wanted a few moments alone in order to bath herself while washing her garbs, she could still feel the presence of Metzli within her shadow, and Xochitl within her spleen.

Although Huo Liyu and Titus Claudius wanted to follow her, Avahni just shook her head, glancing towards Ru Luan Di for a brief moment.

"Give me half-an-hour guys. All I want to do is bathe," she replied, causing the Custodian Of The Fire Swarm and Crimson Nine-Tailed Carp to shrink back, unable to discern the feelings within her Mental Aquascape.

Avahni usually allowed her summoned companions to feel the emotions within her imaginary mental construct. It was a way of reassuring them, knowing that the intrinsic connection between a summoned individual and the one doing the summoning went deeper than what Jon or Sariel or Shamael could ever dream of.

Xochitl had caused slight changes to her various perceptions, even without it being stated in his effect description. Emanations of lifeforce became subtle vibrations or motes of light almost imperceptible to the mortal eye.

Ler Setanta caused her physical strength to grow more apparent, even without the indomitus shastasaurus wanting such a thing. Avahni thought she saw her shadow moving without her prompting it to, but often blinked, finding it return to its original position.

The addition of Ortlinde and her two sisters caused experiences of war and conflict to bleed over from the Three Daughters Of Destruction. Borrowing Assail from Jon during one of his spars against Sariel allowed the lutin to somewhat match the human in terms of pure martial skill.

'And I suppose that Jibril and will cause some sort of change when I obtain another Fragment Of Seraph.'

The integration of the Earth Mana Core and Lightning Mana Core was done at the recommendation of Ru Luan Di and Titus Claudius. Although Avahni wanted to use her task rewards on a Light Mana Core and Dark Mana Core, the Liver Of The Ginseng King suggested on saving her task rewards for her Memento Source Fragment.

The defeat of the Malum Hobgoblin did grant Avahni numerous kinds of rewards.

Spiritual items.

Fragments.

Mana Cores.

Mortal Title Fragments.

But not a Memento Source Fragment.

Although Ler Setanta was against giving out information related to the nature of Memento Source Fragments, Ortlinde was not, allowing Avahni to fully comprehend the nature of this unique type of fragment, before urging her to obtain one before becoming a Knight.

'I literally just formed my Title, but now I have to obtain another two Title Fragments in order to create a Memento Source Item? And that is with me obtaining the bare minimum of Tiel Fragments!'

Avahni could not help but let out an over exasperated sigh, allowing herself to float across the near-still waters. Given how far away she was from the campsite, Avahni could not hear whatever it was that Jon, Wilheim, Sariel and Shamael were talking about, although it did not stop Lucia Zenobia or Annwn Boann from informing her of what they were saying.

Even with the control she had over [Mine Is The Rivers And Oceans, The Seas And Rain], she could not ignore the connection she had with her summoned companions. Obtaining her Title only strengthened this inexplicable link, although did not seem to bother her in the slightest.

A small smile appeared on her face as Annwn Boann told her about Jon's and Wilheim's conversation.

'They still smile even after the fight between Ru Luan Di and Despoina?'

Avahni continued to prevent her emotions from overflowing from her Mental Aquascape, her smile wavering as the build-up of memories and thoughts caused her to think about the conversations she had with the Three Daughters Of Destruction.

Her third summoned companion with a Memento Source Fragment, an achievement that on its own had award her a Mortal Title Fragment. Although the lightning fey had her own quirks and eccentricities just as Ler Setanta and Xochitl did, she was much more pleasant to be around in comparison to the former.

She too was someone that had encountered Ru Luan Di before accepting the System prompt to become a summoned companion. Someone that fought against him and the Immortal Ginseng Dynasty that Despoina mentioned earlier. Although she did not hate Ru Luan Di nearly as much as the Salvation Of White Beginnings, the lightning fey often glared at him, narrowing her eyes while grumbling about "pain-in-the-ass incarnations."

When she found out from Ortlinde about Ru Luan Di's actions during his life did she now understand the… distaste that several of her summoned companions had for the Liver Of The Ginseng King.

When the Incarnation Of The Hunt mentioned that he was not "half the monster" the little ginseng was, did Avahni furrow her brows, turning towards the ginseng with pointed expression on her face.

The fact that Ler Setanta, Ortlinde and Ru Luan Di all knew each other during life was something that went beyond just chance. Even with her overly pronounced Source, Avahni suspected that there was something that the three of them were not telling her.

Whether it was the machinations of the System, or some foreign unknown influence, none of them would tell her.

'Not to mention… the things that Ru Luan Di did were… beyond monstrous. Evil does not even begin to encompass such a thing.'

The exact details were better remained unsaid, although the term "cleansing" and "inherent superiority" were thrown around quite a bit. The Immortal Ginseng Dynasty which Ru Luan Di once belonged to possessed a unique treasure that allowed them to obtain specific fragments and Mana Cores in vast amounts, allowing them to grow and expand their powerbase until it exceeded the universe to which it was native.

What followed was a war of incomprehensible scale and destruction.

Worlds were left barren and lifeless, devoid of spiritual energy if they were not annihilated outright.

Abilities exceeding Avahni's comprehension were used to swallow stars and cause suns to turn supernova. Moons were turned into mobile weapon platforms and crashed into planets without so much as a second thought. Continents were raised and then shifted without regard for the mortals that lived there.

It was death on a universal scale. Stretching across over thirty different integrated universes.

'Ler Setanta said that so much blood was spilled that it had birthed a Grand. Whatever that means,' Avahni thought to herself.

Avahni continued to float amidst the river, allowing the feeling of cool water to douse her bubbling emotions. She could hear the voice of Ortlinde from within her Mental Aquascape but ignored it focusing on her ever-expanding status page instead.

Not even half-a-year had passed within the small realm, but so much had changed, even without her realizing it.

Avahni had obtained thirty different abilities since the beginning of the System Introduction and had successfully manifested eleven of her summoned companions. Although Avahni still required two more fragments to be integrated into her Wind Mana Core, Earth Mana Core and Lightning Mana Core, she was still well on her way to reaching Knighthood.

The addition of her Fragment Of Fey and Fragment Of Seraph gave her quite the pleasant surprise, the former manifesting abilities that made even Ler Setanta wary of her during combat.

Effect (Mortal): Perform a ritual to summon Ortlinde; Three Daughters Of Destruction. Ortlinde is a lightning fey born from the union of a transcendent lightning spirit and a transcendent destruction fey. Ortlinde dwells within the right arm after being summoned.

Ortlinde is capable of flight and manifesting spear constructs of lightning natured spiritual energy. Upon a successful strike against a target, inflict an instance of both [Negative Spark] and [Aurelian Thunder] up to a maximum threshold. Ortlinde possesses the Memento Source Fragment [Geir; Mountain-Felling Spear].

[Negative Spark]: Reduces stamina regeneration.

[Aurelian Thunder]: Inflicts a continuous lightning-natured damage over time effect. Electricity shocks the nervous system, preventing ease of movement while inflicting sharp bursts of pain.

[Geir; Reflection Of Destruction]: Manifested through the combination of a Trinity Mana Core, Fragment Of Reflection, Memento Source Fragment, complete Mortal Title [Reflection Of Destruction] and a Mortal Ranked spiritual mirror.

Manifests the Source-linked sisters of Ortlinde; Bryn; First Sister Of Destruction and Thrud; Third Sister Of Destruction. Bryn and Thrud possess the same abilities as Ortlinde although possess half the physical and spiritual capabilities of their sister.

Can perform minor amounts of lightning manipulation.

Stores excess mana regeneration up to a maximum threshold.

Ortlinde had told her, that other than Jon, no-one else present was quite so close to becoming a Knight. Jon had formed his Title Princeps Of The Wandering Mutation just before she had formed Imaginary Princess Of The Round Table, smiling as she thought the two worked well side by side.

Wilheim's Title was called Wisdom Of The Myriad Lands, which suited him more than the floresiensis realized.

'Jon seems to favour mutations, while Wilheim seems to enjoy controlling the landscape around him, both in and outside of battle. He still has not summoned Harcourt quite yet, but hopefully when we find a Safe Zone he might be more willing to manifest the Wondrous Forest Dwelling.'

Avahni just gazed up towards the sky of this inversed world, humming softly for a few moments before letting out a loud sigh, standing up in the shallow waters. The presence of Ortlinde in the back of her mind was both a reassuring presence and somewhat of an annoyance at times, knowing how excitable the lightning fey could be.

Taking several steps back towards the shoreline, Avahni paused, turning her head towards the other side of the river.

Her brows furrowed as she examined the tree line, [Thunderous Echo Of Flashing Instincts] stirring within her Lightning Mana Core for a few seconds, before vanishing as swiftly as it appeared.

"…" Avahni remained silent, turning back towards the towel that Jon had gifted her, while donning the [Mortal Ranked Protective Shirt] and [Mortal Ranked Swift Pants] that she had obtained from her task rewards.

The beautiful green-haired woman could not help but turn back towards the tree line once more, before shaking her head and returning back to the camp. Her figure vanished amidst the shadows and shrubbery, hair still somewhat damp and clinging to her the back of her shirt.

Several minutes later, an enormous bat burst out from canopy, engulfed in a dark-phantasmal haze of dark natured spiritual energy. The elephant-sized bat soared high into the sky before flying off in an unknown direction.

Not Xochitl who resided within her spleen, nor Ortlinde who resided within her right arm detected the presence of this creature.

Nor did Ler Setanta who left his Ink Shadow Incarnation behind to watch over his master.

Not a single one.
