Nightmares Paradise [LITRPG System Integration]

Chapter 120 Assortment Of Improvements

Jon reunited with Wilheim, Sariel and Avahni. Using the [Violet Doors Of Janus Quirinus] to portal across the Burning Desert Of Kel. He had managed to shrink a nine kilometre distance into just a single step using his Fragment Of Door, something which interested his three companions greatly.

"Fragment Of Door into a Weave Mana Core? Not a Fragment Of Portal or a Fragment Of Warp?" Wilheim asked, gazing intently at Jon as he continued his explanation.

"Yeah," Jon replied, nodding his head, "I thought that the concept of a door might fit a Weave Mana Core better than the concept of a "portal" or that of a "warping" effect. I literally weave a door from spiritual energy, connecting it to a place within my line of sight."

Sariel, with her Space Mana Core seemed slightly regretful, using one of her last task rewards on a Fragment Of Denial. The green-skinned satanas had integrated it into her Space Mana Core, manifesting an ability which she thought expanded her repertoire greatly.

Although the effects of [The Shadows That Dwell Between Us] would be able to be expanded upon reaching Knighthood, the sheer distance that Jon's Fragment Of Door was able to cover made her slightly envious.

'I suppose I would be able to deny the effects of the [Violet Doors Of Janus Quirinus] using [Spatial Art; Negation].' Sariel thought to herself.

[Fragment Of Denial] [Spatial Art; Negation] (Space, Denial, Spell, Ability, Debuff)

Effect (Mortal): Chant, while placing your hand on a surface. Using the point of casting as the centre, a powerful destabilizing wave of space natured spiritual energy shall expand, interrupting the effects of all forms of "teleportation", "spatial displacement", "warping" and "portal" effects. Those affected by the [Spatial Art; Negation] shall be inflicted with an instance of [Space Denial].

The distance that the Spell covers is determined through the amount of spiritual energy poured into it.

[Space Denial]: Prevents the usage of the most recent ability used. This effect cannot stack. This effect cannot be cleansed.

Avahni glanced towards Jon, tilting her head to the side.

Just watching Jon chat with Wilheim about the potential that a Fragment Of Door could possess when integrated into other Mana Cores caused her smile to grow even wider. She felt as though there was something different about Jon.

Something that had changed over the few hours that he had spent exploring within the Dungeon. Avahni always suspected that Jon possessed numerous different mutations, a suspicion that was confirmed upon the creation of his Title; Princeps Of The Wandering Mutation.

Ler Setanta seemed interested in him due to this fact.

And Ortlinde always seemed to observe him from afar, watching his movements with an expression of curiosity on her face.

'Has Jon obtained another ability with the Mutation Trait?' Avahni pondered, gazing at the space above Jon's head for a few seconds.

She did not see why mutations were so interesting, considering that she had manifested a number herself. Her Fragment Of Mother created perhaps her most powerful supportive ability, while the recent integration of a Fragment Of Physique and Fragment Of Reflex granted her two additional mutations on top of that.

Avahni

The Asherah-Shamrock Hair born from a Fragment Of Mother and Wood Mana Core.

The Marchosias-Gale Marrow born from a Fragment Of Marrow and Wind Mana Core.

The Furfur-Gale Heart born from a Fragment Of Heart and Wind Mana Core.

The Dumah-Cinder Spirit born from a Fragment Of Spirit and Fire Mana Core.

And her two new mutations.

The Tierra-Earth Physique born from a Fragment Of Physique and an Earth Mana Core.

The Astrape-Lightning Nerves born from a Fragment Of Reflex and a Lightning Mana Core.

When she asked Ru Luan Di about it, the little ginseng king only had this to say.

"The fact that you have manifested so many different mutations is not that uncommon Avahni. Individuals who manifest Mana Cores that reflect their Race often manifest even more physical mutations than Jon. In addition, all of your mutations are physical mutations, which is to be expected from Fragments Of Physique and Fragments Of Heart."

"What makes Jon interesting is that he tends to manifest metaphysical or conceptual mutations about himself. Ler Setanta said that both his eyes and shadows have mutated, in addition to his lifeforce and pride."

"How does a "shadow" grow mutated? How does "lifeforce"? What manner of ability does a mutated "pride" possess? Jon's Title is the Princeps Of The Wandering Mutation. Regardless of the effects his abilities possess, their strength is perhaps undeniable."

The Liver Of The Ginseng King leaned back against Avahni's arm, allowing his rotund figure to become even more pronounced given his obvious slouch.

"Jon is… interesting. Not a common sight within the integrated universes. His talent for combat is not too bad either and with a teacher like the White Lady Of The Winter Castle, might grow into someone influential in the future."

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Knowing the effects of her own Imaginary Princess Of The Round Table, Avahni knew that Jon's Princeps Of The Wandering Mutation would possess powerful supportive effects as well.

Glancing towards her status page, Avahni gazed upon the effects of her Title, wondering how it compared to Jon's and Wilheim's.

[Avahni Rudras; Imaginary Princess Of The Round Table].

"… staring out from the tower beyond the sea, a princess awaits her destiny. Raindrops against stained glass, the warmth of ones breath against the neck. Longing is her visage and yearning is her heart. Mine is the authority over dreams and bonds. Mine is the willingness to render the stars themselves as thine servants.

The throne of virtuous creation kneels before you. The beast that lurks beneath the waves offers his service. The green ocean bows at your feet. The sisters of destruction are all yours to command.

Take heed and accept thine blessing. All shall serve, beneath the banner of this Imaginary Princess."

[1]: Dramatically increases the effectiveness of all abilities with the Summon Trait. Reduces the mana expenditure of all abilities with the Mutation Trait. Increases the ease at which mastery is obtained with abilities with the Summon Trait.

[2]: Manifests an imaginary structure within the mind. The Round Table allows summoned companions to "gift" their Title, allowing the Imaginary Princess to borrow their abilities without summoning them.

[3]: Dramatically increases the control one possesses over their Mana Cores. Mana Cores become more pliable and easier to shape, increases the rate of transformation while reducing spiritual energy expenditure.

[4]: Minutely increases mana regeneration for each summoned companion dwelling within oneself.

[5]: Abilities with the Summon Trait cannot be obscured from your senses.

[6]: Temporarily add the spiritual energy regenerations of one Mana Core to another.

Ortlinde, Ru Luan Di and even Ler Setanta all said that this was an extraordinarily powerful Title. Two active effects, one that even rectified Avahni's lack of supportive abilities.

Through this, she would be able to use Titus Claudius' [Fire Chevalier] Aura without having to summon him. Or even Metzli's regenerating spiritual shield effect while the verdant night moss remained concealed within her shadow. Huo Liyu's ability to manifest constructs of fire to launch towards his enemies were able to be replicated through the effects of her Title.

She returned her gaze back towards Jon, seeing that he was still talking with Wilheim and Sariel.

"… Fragments Of Golem for my Dungeon Mana Core? You think so?" Wilheim asked Jon, leaning forward with no small amount of interest.

"Eis said that while only a Fragment Of Summon could guarantee your own summoned companion, Fragments Of Golem are different. They are not inherently living creatures, but rather physical constructs imbued with will and intent that exist to serve a singular purpose." Jon communicated Schwarz Eis words, seeing Wilheim so interested in the concept.

Sariel, also interested in the conversation, lifted her hand, not understanding all of what Jon was saying.

"Is it kind of like a spiritual item? But able to move around and perform tasks independently?" She queried.

"To a degree, yes," Jon nodded, albeit somewhat unwillingly, "Given the chaotic nature of fragments there is no certainty in the ability that Wilheim might form. However, assume that the effects would be somewhere in between [Descent Of The Dungeon] and [Architect Of Earth And Stone, Rock And Sand]."

"A combination of freeform spiritual energy manipulation and the shaping of a physical construct."

Sariel nodded, while Wilheim pondered the possibilities.

Out of the five of them, Wilheim was the only one that had not manifested a type of summoned companion. Although he was fine with the idea that he would not manifest an ability with the Summon Trait, given the fragments that he had integrated, possessing one would rectify several of his apparent weaknesses.

Wilheim was a ranged spellcaster capable of inflicting an assortment of different damages and debilitating effects on enemies, while simultaneously cleansing and buffing the allies around him.

Although his [Light Of Thou Consecrated Walls] allowed him a certain level of defence, it was not the same as having Jon in the forefront or having Titus Claudius to create a "buffer zone" between himself and his opponent.

With the addition of [Lie Upon Thy Mountainous Throne And Behold], Wilheim benefited from a more stationary position. The benefits of his Fragment Of Throne were too good to give up and the ideas he had to develop the ability upon reaching Knighthood were too numerous to count.

[Fragment Of Throne] [Lie Upon Thy Mountainous Throne And Behold] (Mountain, Throne, Summoning, Construct, Spell, Buff, Debuff)

Effect (Mortal): Chant, then summon Galahadriel; Mountain Cathedra. Galahadriel is a pseudo-spiritual construct formed from the coalescence of a Fragment Of Throne and a Mountain Mana Core. Galahadriel contains within it the lost hymns of a cathedral beneath the mountain, praying for those who have come before.

Galahadriel manifests beneath oneself in the form of a glorious stone throne, adorned with precious mortal gemstones and gleaming with mountain natured spiritual energy. While sitting atop Galahadriel, increase the effects of all abilities with the Mountain Trait. While sitting atop Galahadriel, produce a formless pressure of mountain natured spiritual energy, gifting allies with refreshing instances of [Mountain Baptism] and enemies with refreshing instances of [Mountain Blasphemy].

[Mountain Baptism]: Increases resistances towards mountain-related damages, afflictions and debuffs.

[Mountain Blasphemy]: Reduces resistances towards mountain-related damages, afflictions and debuffs.

Being able to manifest a pseudo-independent physical construct was the goal Wilheim intended the Fragment Of Golem to fulfill. If he could create golems which could fulfill certain roles, then the formation of his combat style would be complete.

There was a spiritual energy expenditure that he needed to account for and even considered waiting to create a Mortal Ranked Dungeon Fragment in order to obtain a Memento Source Fragment as a reward.

Wilheim had not yet obtained all the Mortal Title Fragments required to manifest another Title after the formation of Wisdom Of The Myriad Lands but knew that such a thing would not be that far off.

The completion of mandatory tasks set by the System often awarded them with various Title Fragments. He had obtained Adept through the completion of the first mandatory task and even Genius as the Baron Ranked rewards for the completion of the third mandatory task.

Although no-one amongst them had obtained one this far, Wilheim suspected that Jon and Avahni were not far off. Both of them possessed advantages that he lacked, not including the information their summoned companions would give them.

'If I can create a type of shield golem or even a fortress golem then that should be enough until I reach Knighthood right? I'll have access to even more spiritual energy as a Knight, reducing the burden on having numerous abilities activated all at once.' Wilheim thought to himself.

Letting out a small sigh, Wilheim opened up his System task page, selecting the Fragment Of Golem as the reward. The hazelnut-skinned man could not help but feel a slight wellspring of interest to bloom within his heart, feeling the unconscious pull of his Source within himself.

The Fragment Of Golem seemed quite compatible with the natural concepts contained within his Source.
