Dark Sand: My Players Are All Actors

Chapter 360: Won't You Get Lost?

The player combat formation to the south was continually pressed forward by the demonic troops, a combined force of Northern Barbarian cavalry and Eastern Yi bandits.

Flying Swallow arranged the Northern Barbarian cavalry in the central position, breaking through with heavy cavalry as the vanguard, while light cavalry coordinated on both flanks. As for those Eastern Yi bandits, they would seize every opening, swarming into the breaches made by the Northern Barbarian cavalry, wielding their Yi swords and slashing wildly through the player formations.

These Eastern Yi bandits were among the more troublesome enemies the players had encountered in the early stages, with their Yi swords being especially sharp. When facing players only equipped with cloth armor and inferior spears, dealing with them was quite difficult; a confrontation often resulted in players being cut down immediately.

Only elite fighters like Zhao Haiping could hold their own against the bandits' elites.

As the players' rate of being clad in armor increased, Eastern Yi bandits could no longer pose a significant threat.

But now, with a clear increase in the number of Eastern Yi bandits, they could still inflict massive casualties when the players' formations were in disarray.

However, just as an Eastern Yi bandit was about to bring down its Yi sword high above a fallen player, a thick arrow flew from afar, hitting its chest unerringly!

The heavy arrow, with its tremendous force, pierced straight through the Eastern Yi armor worn by the bandit, passing through its chest and pinning it firmly to the side of a wrecked chariot.

The Eastern Yi bandit looked incredulously at the large arrow in its chest, twisting its head with difficulty to see where the arrow had come from.

Suddenly, a young man clad in Ming Guang Armor, wielding a great bow, appeared like a celestial being descended to earth, gazing down upon these Eastern Yi bandits engaged in their rampant slaughter.

More Eastern Yi bandits took note of this and turned their eyes in that direction as well.

Thereafter, a special emotion flickered in their eyes.

It was fear!

Although these Eastern Yi bandits had become demonic troops possessed by demons, they still retained some memories from their subconscious as Eastern Yi bandits.

And the figure emanating golden light before them was, without doubt, the most revered and feared entity for all Eastern Yi people.

That was Lord Qin, Heaven's Khan!

The Eastern Yi had once sent a large number of envoys to the Liang Dynasty to learn, and their reverence for the Liang Dynasty stemmed from genuine admiration. Later on, whether in politics, economy, military, or culture, the Eastern Yi were deeply influenced by the Liang Dynasty.

Even the Yi swords were initially fashioned after the Liang Dynasty's sword pattern.

Although no Eastern Yi person had actually seen His Lordship, the founding emperor of the Liang Dynasty, Lord Qin's formidable reputation and his various portraits had also reached the Eastern Yi along with the Envoys to Liang.

To the Eastern Yi, Lord Qin could be regarded as the most awe-inspiring figure in all of Huaxia, bar none!

This reverence was almost akin to worship. In the entire history of the Eastern Yi, no hero could stand shoulder to shoulder with him.

Lord Qin's gaze swept over the Eastern Yi bandits before him.

These Eastern Yi were clad in various armors, wielding Yi swords, spears, or bows. Although each of them bore a fierce and malevolent expression, in the face of Lord Qin's scrutiny, they became stupefied.

Lord Qin's eyes turned cold.

"I often say, since ancient times Huaxia has been esteemed and barbarians have been despised. My love for them is the same.

"But I also have said that barbarians have the hearts of beasts, and given the slightest chance, will inevitably turn and cause harm.

"If you were to send envoys to us, seeking to admire the vistas of Huaxia and learn from Huaxia's culture, then naturally I would treat you with due respect and reveal to you a glimpse of the openness and tolerance of my Huaxia.

"But if you dare to invade...

"I do not mind letting you see why, in my Liang Dynasty, those who merely defeat one nation do not dare to call themselves renowned generals!"

Many people simply because Lord Qin had said, "My love for them is the same," believed that Lord Qin truly regarded barbarians as confidants. This view is obviously very one-sided and can even be said to be completely mistaken.

Lord Qin indeed said those words, but he also said, "Barbarians have the hearts of beasts, and given the slightest chance, will inevitably turn and cause harm."

The former was said when he vanquished the Turkic people and recruited the Turkic surrendering generals.

The latter was said when the Turkic people rebelled.

Clearly, Lord Qin's standard of judgment primarily considered whether these barbarians could be of use to him.

If these people could charge into battle for Lord Qin like Qibi Heli, then Lord Qin would not mind personally dressing their wounds. But if these people dared to cause trouble, then Lord Qin also would not mind letting them hear what the Qin King's Battle Music sounded like.

Now, for these Eastern Yi bandits, Lord Qin's attitude was the same.

The reason the Liang Dynasty did not incidentally annihilate the Eastern Yi was only due to two factors: first, at that time, the Eastern Yi were very weak and extremely submissive, posing no threat to the Liang Dynasty; second, the shipbuilding skills of the time were inadequate to support overseas combat, and moreover, the barren Eastern Yi lands were not a priority in the Liang Dynasty's expansionist direction, rendering conquest somewhat meaningless.

But now, seeing these Eastern Yi bandits actually taking the initiative to come over and attack, Lord Qin certainly found it both annoying and amusing.

"Kill!"

Lord Qin drew his long sword and pointed forward. The elite Liang cavalry behind him surged forward like a tidal wave towards the Eastern Yi bandits!

A brave general led the charge, his horse-spear carrying immense force that flung the bandits in front of him into the air!

The bandit swung his Yi sword feebly, but in the face of the spear's length, he could not even touch the corner of opponent's clothing.
