Chapter 1121: Sweep Through the Landfill

Since the dog king had held onto its position for such a long time, it was clear that it had extraordinary fighting capabilities. At the same time, it didn’t only know how to fight, but it was also more intelligent than the other dogs, easily picking out the true leader of the pack amongst the mess of canines—the seemingly normal white dog.
No matter whether it was the cunning German shepherd, Rottweiler-mix, or mastiff, they had all subconsciously made the white dog the center of their attention, obeying its every command. This clearly showed that the white dog had completely earned their respect.
But even with the wealth of experience the dog king had under its belt, it couldn’t find anything special about this white dog.
The other wild dogs didn’t care that much, the bloodlust driving their bodies to do what their instinct wanted them to. They would never care about trying to communicate with the other party. It was just a lot easier to give them a bite to end their life. What were all the useless words for?
If not for the fact that the dog king hadn’t given the order yet, they would have rushed up without waiting a single microsecond.
The bloodthirsty pit bull saw its three old nemeses in the midst of the stray dogs and tilted its head in confusion, not able to understand why the three of them would be together.
There were three groups standing at odds with one another now.
No matter how reckless the pit bull was, it wouldn’t pull a thoughtless move now. It had the smallest amount of members in its group now and was the weakest one amongst all three.
The white dog assessed the situation, quickly understanding what was going on, and walked towards the dog king without any protection.
The stray dogs started to bark like mad, wanting nothing more than to rush up and tear the white dog into pieces.
The stray dogs were all tensing up, barking back in response to the wild dogs under the lead of their three pack alphas. The mastiff had an especially loud and reverberating bark and could match ten dogs on its own. “So what? Trying to fight us with numbers when you couldn’t win a one-on-one? Come, more than glad to! You’re a pussy if you don’t dare to!”
The pit bull and its members didn’t want to be left out, and they joined in with a mess of barks. But they didn’t know which side to support and merely barked to show that they were still there.
Even since the beginning of the landfill, there hadn’t been this much activity. The hundreds of dogs’ barks were absolutely deafening and could be heard from miles away, even from the workers’ dorm on the other end of the landfill.
The white dog opened its mouth to speak, but its voice was completely drowned out by the barking. It could only stop, raising a paw and making a sign after half-turning back, signaling to them to stop barking—it was going to go deaf.
Right then, the previously silent dog king moved.
The dog king had grasped the split-second opening that the white dog had created while it was half turned around to attack, accurately picking the best time to attack.
The reason why it became the dog king and ruled the pack for several years was not its superior fighting skills and higher-than-average IQ, but also that it was willing to fight dirty.
The wild dogs seemed to be injected with shots of adrenaline, barking even louder than they had been before and cheering for their own king. “Our king’s the best! Our king’s super dope!”
The strays instead were screaming curses at the other in barks. “We agreed on one-on-one! How dare you do sneaky things! Shameless b*stards!”
Even the pit bull watching by the side couldn’t stand it anymore, giving a shout to remind the white dog to watch its front.
By the time the white dog turned to the front, the dog king was already inches away from it, its mouth wide open and the stench assulting its senses. The other’s teeth were black and yellow, absolutely filthy, aiming towards its neck to bite harshly.
It didn’t panic or lose its footing. It curled all of its limbs in and lowered its torso, bowing its head and chest towards the ground and missing the bite by mere milimeters.
Then it sent strength all the way down to every single muscle in its body, releasing them in one go along with a shout of, “Headbutt!”
Right then, the white dog’s head was right below the dog king’s lower jaw. This could just be the white dog…closing the dog king’s mouth for it?
The dog king had no intention of closing its mouth at all, though, and it could only hear the crisp crack of its lower jaw connecting with its upper jaw, its mouth closing against its will—the only issue was that its tongue was still hanging outside!
In the end, its sharp canines pierced two holes in its tongue, its blood pouring out of the lacerations, so painful it could keel over.
The impact didn’t just cause great injury to its tongue. The rest of the shockwave traveled through its bone into its brain, causing it to have a horrible concussion. It convulsed violently on the floor, the blood from its tongue flinging everywhere.
The white dog shook its head, its tone full of pity as it continued, “You should be happy that you don’t have front teeth like a human, or you would only be left with half a tongue, not able to taste much of your food in the future.”
Neither the strays nor the wild dogs expected this plot twist at all. They had all thought that the white dog wouldn’t be able to get an edge, and yet it had completely turned the tables. Not only had it come out unscathed, it had even caused a huge injury to the dog king, causing the dog king to be completely unable to continue the fight.
K.O.!
The white dog looked at the wild dog pack. “Anyone not happy with this outcome? Come on out!”
All the wild dogs that had been cheering loudly earlier were now all completely dejected, like a rat caught in a trap, completely losing their motivation to fight. All of the dogs that were looked at by the white dog had lowered their heads, hunching in on themselves to make themselves smaller.
The stray dogs were instead over the moon. “Dog king! Dog king! New dog king!”
The white dog broke into a smile, looking over at the pit bull. “What about you? Do you believe in my strength? If not, why not come and try it yourself?”
All eyes suddenly turned to the pit bull. They could still remember its bloodlust and craze for violence, and no one dared to underestimate its power.
Even though it knew that the opponent had unnaturally great strength, the pit bull refused to just give up like that. It didn’t matter whether the other was a person, a dog, or an iron tank. It dared to go up and try to give it a few bites.
“Woof!”
It knew who it was and didn’t want to stoop as low as the dog king of the wild dogs, making sneaky attacks. It gave a bark first before opening its wide mouth, a few streaks of blood marbling its saliva and clinging to its teeth. It crouched then, firing itself towards the white dog with all of its strength.
The white dog was impressed by the pit bull that dared to face its challenges up front. “Good, you are a respectful one!”
The white dog had rushed towards the pit bull as well. The moment the two dogs crossed paths, it intentionally leaned to one side, veering away from the other’s teeth and knocking its head into the pit bull’s chest.
This time, the white dog hadn’t used its full strength, merely a fraction of what it had used before. But even so, the pitbull couldn’t handle it either, flipping around in the air before smashing back to the group, the mud and sewer water dirtying half its face.
Thank goodness the pitbull had a strong enough chest with developed chest muscles. With the white dog going easy on it as well, it merely needed a few moments to gather its breath back enough for it to stand again. The bloodlust and craze had completely bled out of its eyes, replaced by respect and submission—but this was only for the white dog, an admission that the white dog was stronger that itself.
Yet another K.O.!
All of the other dogs on site were all completely taken aback, looking at the white dog as though it were a god.
Not the dog king but the God of War!
As for the previous dog king that was still convulsing on the floor, not a single dog had given it another look—as though it didn’t exist at all.
Dogs only looked up to the strong!
The white dog leaped onto a tall stone and looked down at the sea of dogs, the pride blooming in its chest.
